Why did you join GTA Online in the first place?

To get the features that were missing from Singleplayer.

 

And because I was bored of SP.

Because I have been a GTA player since 2004 and I did not want to miss out.

I liked the premise of having a character playing in the backstory and background of GTA V, adds more to the lore and felt just right.

 

I also felt that Heists was the final piece that made our backstory complete and coherent, everything afterwards was either complete sh*t or okay-at-best (Executives & Criminals) with a noticeable decline in quality and having nothing to add to our characters, they shouldn't be treated better than the V protagonists.

Because I love GTA and Online was a new way to experience the game.

 

I gotta say tho, sure are a lot of simpleton-type responses...I'm sure glad I grew out of that "do it just because I can" or "because it's popular" type of lifestyle.

I joined because I enjoyed GTA IV's multiplayer and I wanted a female protagonist.

I thought it was going to be missions with the development of some story, so I joined online. I realise quickly it wasnt what I thought GTA online would be, I was really disappointed at first. I continued playing trying a bit of the game mode and I really really liked the garage/mechanic system (which I dont understand why its not in SP). That was the main thing that got me hooked and after that pretty much playing with friends and racing.

Sometimes I wish I never joined in to gta online.

Its like sh*ttier version of V, full of annoying peoples I can't stand, but somehow for some odd reason I still keep on playing it.

Its actually first game I play in online. I just realised one day, that I can connect my phones internet to my ps3.

Thats how it started. Before that I only playd singleplayer games.

I bought the game and joined Online in on October 3rd, 2013. I already read on here, Newswire, etc., the complaints and bitching of the slow load times, character losses and even unplayable-ness. For me, I didn't expect any of that stuff. To be honest, I was hooked on Online because of the freedom... that should've been in Story Mode -.- My first car was a Buffalo, my first death was getting blown up by a player, my first kill was a pistol whack to the face by a player (found the feature on accident). I enjoyed every minute of it, coming home from school having my character waiting for me to take him on a goose chase across Southern San Andreas.

 

Now, I rarely get on it anymore. I gave the whole game a break sometime after October 2014. The last time I was fully back at Online was last July and I was doing the Daily Objectives and finally enjoying the heists. The day before was about to complete my 26th one, I went on vacation. Haven't gone back on it since. The very last time I ever logged on was in February and it was just for glitching Online-only vehicles to Story Mode.

Some of you know I originally bought the game on the first day of its release, later sold it to a friend, and then purchased another copy later when my friends were caught up with it.

 

I got addicted to it, my friends stopped playing the game, and I bought it on the NG consoles because I enjoyed it a lot.

 

Now I barely play it.

My cousin had the game so when I was at his place he was playing it. I loved the idea of owning tons of unique cars so I was hooked.

I spent most of 2015 without a job. GTA online kept me occupied and entertained.

I wanted to kill some people, drive over them, put them on fire, shoot with an homing launcher, do drive-by's, rob a bank, meet crazy people, shop for clothing every day, do a lot of work for some real gangsters and bomb every car i see. All in real life but i thought it's maybe better to practice first so thats why i joined gta online.

Watched a few videos of NerdCubed playing together with InTheLittleWood. Seemed like fun. I had to buy a new console for the New F1 game and a friend had a PS4. so I got the GTA V PS4 bundle and I started playing GTA Online.

Because I bought a couple of shark cards thinking you could use them GTAV. Started playing online to use my shark cards, got hooked and didn't go back to play story mode for almost 12 months.

The reason why I joined GTA Online in the first place was because I felt like it would be the type of game I would enjoy. Especially the Heists Update.
