Carbonox
It could be a good show if countries would send their best musicians and not their wackiest, like they do often. I've got a feeling Finland has purposefully tried not to win the contest for a decade or so. Maybe it's done to save the money that would otherwise go towards hosting the following year. Yes, it can be a pretty expensive endeavour when you Host it.

Uncle Sikee Atric
It could be a good show if countries would send their best musicians and not their wackiest, like they do often. I wish we just sent Engelbert Humperdinck every year. Given the UK's current political situation, I think Bowie, in his current role as 'deceased' has more chance of winning it for the UK.... I predict a 'last place' and lots of 'nil points' for us this year. Edited May 1, 2016 by Sikee Atric Sunrise Driver
GTA_stu
I predict a 'last place' and lots of 'nil points' for us this year. I don't know if we could survive such a shocking new experience like that. Edited May 1, 2016 by GTA_stu Sunrise Driver
K^2
I thing they forgot a few, there for I am going to send them an email and ask them to add this flags in the banned group:The flags they list include territories whose separation involved military insurgency with aid of foreign governments. Most of these are still ongoing and are costing tends or even hundreds of thousands of lives. Please, take that into consideration before you make an ass of yourself. Some regions seek independence from their governments. Regardless of how you feel about that, it is not in the same category as ongoing wars, genocide, and terrorism. Sunrise Driver
So they've banned flag of Crimean Tatar people even if one of performers (Jamala) is a Crimean Tatar with a crimean tatar-themed song? Also Kosovo & Palestine banned. Amusing. What alternative does your utopia offer? Drop this useless political contest which contributes nothing worthy to music. Abel.
The Palestinian flag means different things to different people. However, as ten-a-penny says, the Palestinians have had some degree of self governance and autonomy since Oslo. If there are going to be Palestinian singers at the event then they're going to want to have a Palestinian flag and that should be allowed, even if there is no state of Palestine as yet or in the near future. Personally I don't like giving legitimacy to terror coming from the Palestinian territories (or the corruption of Fatah) by flying the Palestinian flag, but it's difficult to associate the benign aspirations of some of the Palestinians with the less scrupulous aims and motives of others. I guess this is why there's so much contention regarding flags sometimes. They're just pieces of cloth but they can evoke a range of emotions. country-of-birth-lottery Whilst I largely agree with your points, Raavi, this is a point I often see which is a bit weird to me. Some people have national pride because the country they inhabit or have roots in saved the lives of their family members and gave them a better chance at life, it's not always just some happenstance thing that you have roots in a certain country.
