I still remember when we were all watching Sony's E3 2014 conference; IIRC the common assumption on GTAF was that a PC/current-gen version would be announced at E3. When they showed that trailer, I have to say, I was in awe. The music, the scenery, everything was pure magic about it. I remember there being a lot of optimism on the forums after that. I even abandoned my plan of getting a 1080p TV + PS4 and decided to build my own PC instead. I'm pretty happy with that decision, though I did eventually buy a PS4 anyway.

Then in September 2014, that abysmal A Picket Fence and a Dog Named Skip trailer was released, on the same day the first PC delay was announced...

Good Lord, I had serious stomachache because of laughing really painfully! That one is the best "GTAV settings imagination" ever!

I can't remember the topic title but it has something with GTAV setting.

This "leak":

I've finally decided to register and clear up some misconceptions and whatnot about the PC port.

Please don't bother replying, as this will be my only post. You can still quote it, but I won't reply because I'm gonna get in a lot of trouble just for this one post.

-The PC version has been in development since 2010 alongside with the console version, even though the buildlog only registers PC-related issues from 2012 and later: https://googledrive....2MzA/builds.xml

-It is taking so long because the code is held with duct tape. They want to polish it up and make sure no bugs are left. This was ages ago, however.

-They've teamed up with AMD for this port, as you've all seen from the Catalyst beta driver leak. They are adding a lot of sweet things such as parallax occlusion mapping, ambient occlusion, HD textures, lots of normal maps, exclusive online content for the PC, and much more.

-It will be available on Steam two weeks after launch. It has been discussed a possible Origin version will be available as well. However, sites who are taking pre-orders for Steam keys are lying.

-A R.A.G.E. Modding SDK is in the works. This means official mod support with proper tools.

-The game will have anti-piracy support, although folks will get around this in no time.

-The Steam version is uploaded to Valve's database and gets frequent updates for the closed beta. It is currently listed as a ValveTestApp, but I cannot tell which AppID it is.

-Online support for 32 players is confirmed, as shown by recent leaks.

-The game launcher has two options:

Current Gen mode:

Uses DX11, tons of custom options as mentioned above.

Automatically runs a benchmark at first startup and changes the game's settings accordingly.

Mantle support is in the works. It does not have an ETA yet but it is planned to be released around August

Last Gen mode:

Uses DX9/DX10, less custom options.

Automatically runs a benchmark at first startup and changes the game's settings accordingly.

Mantle support is in the works. It does not have an ETA yet but it is planned to be released around August

-Retailer version comes with a special code for a random in-game weapon or vehicle. It has two install discs. Cover art is different from the console version.

-The game was supposed to release back in January. I don't know why it has been delayed.

Again, Don't ask me questions. I won't post anymore. Here's three questions people will definitely ask me:

-Do you work for Rockstar?

I kinda used to.

-Can I trust you?

That's up to you.

-Why are you posting here?

Why not?

I remember when people said a pentium 3 and GeForce mx440 can run game high settings 70fps no problem!

I had said for a long time prior to release that I was going to wait and do some serious upgrades or build a new rig that was better able to meet the specs. I was having trouble running through SA again (cant remember what the hiccup was) and was perfectly satisfied bouncing back & forth between IV & its expansions and Max Payne 3.

Then one day, I decided to download V for sh*ts & giggles to see how it would run, found it smooth as silk and the rest is history

Wow, so much made up sh*t. I wish some of the RDR speculation posters could see this and how absolutely untrue most of it was, and how easily it is to mislead people. "Steam two weeks after launch" this is the funniest part.

Also, that f*cking feel when the countdown got to 0 and Stevie Nick's started, shivers and hype to the max. I'm so glad it came to PC, I wouldn't still be playing GTA V if it didn't. I hope Rockstar finally notices how serious the PC community is as GTA V being one of the best selling games on Steam and releases the next RD for us too. f*ck it, I don't care if they do another 1+ year delay just to make it as good as the version we have now, just pls rockstar.

Gotta post this again :)

Anyone still remembers this topic:

http://gtaforums.com/topic/554297-trevor-has-detachable-penis/

3 f*cking pages!

i think we may be able to use Trevors dick as a weapon, or it will play a small role in the story to add a bit of trevor humour.

It could also explain why he's such a psycho, doesn't give a sh*t, hit men and women, head butts grandma's.

He turned out to be right about every thing he claimed, I just read a lot of his posts from your mention. Didn't see anything about 3d, but I did see a lot of stuff that turned out true.

Or the day-one patch. Damn, it took me more than f*cking 3 hours to those sh*t done! And me in a ragemode and cursing at R* lol.

In the end, the day-one patch ran the game very very well and that only on the release date! It's the best optimized open world game ever by R*.

I was crying on 2011, November the 2nd, when the first trailer came out. What a fantastic day it was. People were analyzing the video frame by frame. Also, yeah, the Genesis thread was its beginning (before the trailer). Good times :D
