I reload much sooner than that. I reload every chance I get.

I don't keep track of how many rounds are left in my mag, because I'm an idiot.
Probably pretty often, though.

what? why wouldn't you? Unless you were super confident that you hit the head with every shot.

FrugalDangerMan

I remember reading about this one kid who was showing his grandfather Call of Duty. The grandfather was like

"What the he'll are you doing? You only fired 3 rounds and you're reloading?"

The kid replied "It's OK, the bullets stay in my inventory."

"That makes no God damn sense. That's not how war works."

Yes, I think most people reload like this. I reload as soon as I duck into cover.

Hard core mode in BF has realistic reloading (remaining bullets don't return to inventory upon reloading) so in that case, I almost always empty the magazine.

In GTA (or any other shooter) I reload as soon and as often as possible.

I reload at every chance I get.

and since that isn't an option, I just chose all options.

How can anyone answer that? I'm sure the answer varies depending on the weapon for each player.

Death Rains From Above

I'm a fan of hit and run tactics. With all the Marksman & RPG spammers I often have to deal with, it's best not to remain exposed for too long.

Mid-Range: Fire about 1/3-1/2 of AR clip, get behind cover, reload, Fire again, repeat.

Long-Range: When sniping (legitly, not with the Marksman), I reload only when I get back in cover with about 2 rounds left in a clip. I rather reload on my own terms than by getting caught wide open with an empty clip.

I never use/ look at the ammo counter, and generally don't reload ahead of time. For me personally, I'm just trying to make certain aspects slightly more realistic.

Its stupid not to, when under serious threat, especially when faced with another player you want a full magazine, and you reload every time you get breathing room to keep that magazine full cause you never now when every bullet is going to count. Whether it be other players or a clusterf*ck of NPCs all rushing at once.

I voted for "soemtimes". I'm usually too distracted to notice that, but I almost always do so when using sniper rifles. Since it's a type of gun that evolves a lot of precision and reloading takes some nice seconds that might make the difference between a clear shot and a missed target, everytime the enemy is covered or down, even if I just shot 2 bullets, I take the opportunity to reload.

All the time. I even reload after only a few shots of the combat machine gun. Bad habit. I even try to reload the minigun in the rare cases I decide to use it.

Anna Deadly

You can reload manually? :O

I've died so many times because my character starts reloading automatically... this will be a game changer.

I even reload when having only fired 2 or 3 rounds... like you said, bad habit.

I never reload, I let the game do it for me.

Shadowfennekin

I reload everytime I kill a player I'm fighting against if it's just him.

And I reload my sniper when nobody's spawned on the beach during Piracy Prevention.

I don't pay attention to the ammo thing all the time though. The minimap has priority.

If you're not using every opportunity during a gun fight to reload, you're doing it wrong. You don't want to be that guy with a headshot lined up but no bullet comes out.

That's not my answer. I just wanted to give you all something fabulous.

I reload as soon as I stop firing, to the point where it's become natural and without thought and I have to stop myself doing it in other games (when circle isn't reload). Needing to reload when someone is lined up for the perfect shot, but they're about to line you up for the perfect shot? Literally, ain't nobody got time fo dat.

With combined factors of:

Bullet sponge everything

Lightning fast reloads

Bullet based inventory insted of magazine based

I reload constantly before the mag is empty
