Encountering a Legit Rank 1,000+

Imagine doing a 1 on 1 free-mode battle with such a rank person that leveled up almost exclusively through killing red dots in free-mode. I haven't encountered one in this manner (to my knowledge). In you guys's opinions, how skilled would these players be to a comparable rank 250-500 player? If you've had such an experience please share your story.

No difference what so ever in my opinion. Skill is based on the player, not their rank.

I have a friend who is a legit level 1020. I am a level 309 and I can kill him regularly when we play TDMs. He does not do much free roam. Almost nobody can be a legit level 1000 or more if they spend a lot of time in free roam. My friend is a level 1000 because he does lots of races and jobs. I have encountered lots of people higher level than me and I destroy them because I am experienced in free roam combat. I have also had my ass handed to me by level 100s. Though I suspect usually in those cases it is a second character for them. Basically what I am saying is I don't think level means much in free roam combat.

I think most high levels, like me, get there from doing A LOT move PvE jobs than PvP. So no, the rank doesn't really mean squat when it comes to PvP.

You can level up without being a douchy griefer asshat. In fact, most likely they are the kind of person who enjoys playing missions for fun instead of crying their eyes out every damn time they get killed and their K/D rate drops a decimal.

You can level up without being a douchy griefer asshat. In fact, most likely they are the kind of person who enjoys playing missions for fun instead of crying their eyes out every damn time they get killed and their K/D rate drops a decimal.

 

 

I know you can. I'm just saying that most levels 1000+ I've encountered played, acted and seemed like a noob with glitched stats. Not saying all of them are, I'm just saying most of the ones I've seen. And by glitch I didn't mean griefing, I mean't modding their accounts and transfering to the newer systems.

Not everyone is into Free roam PVP, I couldn't less about it .. doesn't mean they a bad player, like you say, they likely skilled in other areas like heists .. to me pvp is a waste of time, but I also can see how people enjoy it

A PvP only person probably couldn't get to 1000; not yet anyway.

 

I mostly do PvP (when I'm on) and I'm only 750. Bear in mind that back in the day I used to grind the hell out of missions. Someone who didn't do that? They'd probably be a fair bit lower.

I been playing Gta Online off and on since launch day on the Xbox 360, and in that time I got to rank 405 at the time of this post. The thought of even getting that high astounds me and requires me giving up more of my real life than I care to spare. As for me personally I only shoot at players in self-defense or when they stand in the way of an objective in free roam. Other than that, I shoot no one unless you give me a reason to.

I have a bud who's around 1400 legitimately, but he never plays free-mode, never. I only do occasionally and would probably dominate him. My rank, combining both characters, is about 705 and I only began playing GTAO 11 months ago.

Pathetic, really pathetic. If you actually think that, you probably aren't very good at the game. Total time spent in GTAO, just a hair over 70 days and my characters are 569 and 276, combined RP total of 702. No RP glitching necessary, bud. Just get good at missions with crew members and really take advantage of the promotions R* gives you. I've been playing a ton of VIP because of the 2x RP and leveled up an ungodly amount as a result.

 

From you signature, I see you spend a ton of time in free-mode, that's why you aren't leveling up. I'd like to buy a clue for $500, Pat.

I'm 70 away from 1,000 and I'm sh*t at PVP or anything involving combat really. I consider myself better than the "average" player but to anyone that takes the time to get better at combat and does it all the time, I am garbage. All of my skill is in racing only

I have two xbox 360 friends who are well over 1000, yet their "PVP" or even heist 'skill' would be considered poor - you know why?

 

Their ranks come from being in racing crews, and they can spend several hours a day just doing race playlist after race playlist.

So if you're talking about skill, you should realise that there are some people who are average, or even good at everything, but there are others who 'specialise', having skills in certain areas, such as racing or flying jets.

I'm currently 160 and got there 90% FR 10% jobs/races.

Rank means nothing: I got bitch slapped last night by some kid who was only level 40, likely a second character but still, you can't go by their rank - judge them on their FR skills.
