If we split it up in two games like I suggested, we'd have 25 and 24 brands in each game, then the final 10, so it should be good.

Yes. However the poll has mixed opinions on splitting the game in two (or three). So we might need another strategy

 

I'm pretty sure the polls aren't very well done, they're very confusing.

There's no poll that asks if people want the game to be split up in two elimination games, but there's one that asks if people want more than one game running at the same time.

However, what I suggested was splitting the vehicle brands elimination game in two, by alphabetical order. That is the first 25 brands go to the first game, then the other 24 go to the second game, but both games are meant to be run at separate times. Once the last 5 in the first elimination game are left, we start the next one until there's only 5 left, then we combine the top 5 from each game in a final one.

 

For those asking how many brands there are, we have 41 excluding brands that only make bikes, planes, helis, boats and trucks (basically unstorable vehicles).

Recon's list has only 39 brands, I thought we had agreed to include all brands. Bollokan and Emperor are missing.

Yeah, but there are bound to be arguments and debates (or even, just maybe, normal conversations) - if there's more than one thread, that'll split all those up.

 

I think you'd have people hopping from one thread to another to talk, which would be awkward.

 

That's just my take on it though. Of course, maybe I'm a little biased since I mostly just use a PC for the voting.

If it was me I'd just have all the brands in one game and give them 20 points each. Keeps it simple.

 

Otherwise do two games with 20 brands in each.

I really hope we do vehicles, all 41 brands, in one game.

It's the only fair way, splitting up the game in two categories would allow vapid to not go against cheval for instance.

Starting points at 20 like Nacho said sounds like a good idea

So why not ask people to vote for their favourite brand, and include the first 30 suggestions in the list? Exceptions can be made before starting the game, and the OP will make the final decision.

We're only doing car brands, so there's only 41. So why remove 11 of them? It seems a bit pointless. If there were like 50+ car brands, it'd make sense to vote for only 30 of them, and like it has been said, it'd be unfair to remove some brands right away without even giving them a chance.

I think this is the best idea. Splitting the games up solves one problem and causes others. I just think we should keep it all in one.

 

Brackets is another idea but I'm confused by it.

 

If splitting the games up wins the poll then, we'll go with that.

Splitting the game up would be the worst idea. It'd work at the start, but we'd immediately get people saying "where's Progen or Overflod" and stuff like that. Too difficult for the casual participant to get their head round.

 

So a full list - someone please get the definitive list of all GTA online cars.

 

Or a partial list - where people vote for their favourites for inclusion in the game.

I voted brands, divided by brands but unsure about the last question so I said "no"...whatever that means. How can it be split if run at the same time?

Whole brands (not the cereal) seems way better in terms of voting. Do you vote for the brand with the best supercar or the one that has a really good sports car but also a pickup truck? Variety and stuff.

So here are my votes.

1. Vehicles, It's the most obvious and wanted one that we want.

2. Splitting by Brands is a good idea and I suggested earlier and I will suggest it again, that if we split this in 2 games run at once, I think the split between the "2 groups" should be done at random and not by alphabetical or some other order.

3. Running 2 games at once could be complicated, But I think that is a good idea and as whoever it was mentioned, After we have 5 left in both games we'll do a 3rd thread with does 10 as a "Final" and to make sure the other 2 thread don't get discuss they should be locked the second we hit 5 left and it's confirmed we have 5 left with no "Bad Votes"

We're not on any limit, Amy, just talking from experience. When games get really big they get boring real quick. There have been several games in the past that were quite dull, so it's necessary to keep things spicy IMO.

30 item limit was only due to constraints in making the graphs. We can easily go over 30, but I can't guarantee a graph. It's up to you guys.

 

The Police & Emergency vehicle game was only 19 items.

 

I agree with Jenkiiii though that the longer the game, the less fun it is. This game was fun despite how much it dragged out because we were eliminating people instead of things.

I don't mind it being long. I think voting for what brands to have isn't necessarily a bad idea, but I'd rather just have all of them to be honest.

 

If any of the brands are really that pointless, then they won't take long to get voted out. I don't see much of a problem with all of them being included.

Put all the brands in and either have them set at 20 pts instead of 40, or increase the down vote to 3 or 4? So the game wont drag on to long.

I understand the issues with the graphs. We started the last game at 25 players and then changed it to 30 in a matter of hours. I hadnt even considering how that would effect the graphs, so if you're wondering why I'm saying something now, that's the reason. For the first six pages or so I was at a loss on just how to get over this hurdle. At some point, I found a way to glitch in Scaglietti's score, which worked everytime thankfully. But still, until the last 15 people of so, it just looked like a bunch of squiggly lines. The interactive version was a good soltuion to this though, so if you clicked through to that, it would've given more specific info.

 

Edit: let me also say that I'm not saying graphs should dictate what game we play or why. I'm just speaking as ikaR3CON the individual. Graphs just work better with less data to work with.

 

As far as talking outside the vote, that was a rule for this game because we were eliminating people and it got very personal, very quickly. I don't think that rule will be so crucial when we eliminate vehicle brands.

 

I'm waiting on the poll question to run its course, so let's have some more yay or nay votes come in. However, if we keep it all in one game, I'd like to add a poll option with all the 41 vehicles and we pick our favorite (20)
