-Jacking-
Hi, I meet a lot of loss of FPS during play. When I start the game, the game switches from 60 to 40 - 30 fps automatically! However, as soon as I return to Windows from ALT + TAB and I come back on GTA V, the game becomes as before stable with 60fps! How to solve this problem once and for all? When I disable the V-Sync I have tearing problems! My specifications: R9 390 Tri-X 16 GB RAM i7 4790k 4 GHz (Sorry if my english it's bad)

Stridezz
If alt tabbing always solves the problem, then I am unable to help, and Crystal3lf's solution might be the way out. If the dips still happen after alt tabbing though, you could try one of the following things: - using an fps cap - lowering the settings slightly while using vsync, so the fps becomes slightly more stable (vsync drops your fps by a lot, even if it fluctuates to 59). - depending on how stable your frame rates are, and how smooth you like your gameplay, you could turn the settings up, and disable vsync altogether. - finally if you have an amazing pc, you could buy a sync/gsync monitor and never worry about vsync again Good luck! As long as the screen flickers and recognizes your monitor, it should work smoothly for the rest of your game session. I found this happens with many games. I think it has something to do with having two monitors plugged in (Both of which have different refresh rates), as this problem doesn't seem to happen to most of my friends who all use one monitor. Spider-Vice
1 monitor here, it happens. Triple buffering is broken in GTA V, you need to cycle the Vsync setting, then it'll work. let your hopes and dreams turn into burning fire! -Jacking-
Ok, thank you for your answers! It is a pity that to happen, I wonder where that came from!
LazlowsucksiloveslutS
I think that GTAV looks better and cleaner with VSync off. Image tearing is barely noticeable. Use 4x MSAA and 16x anisotropic filtering for better image quality, but don't use game's MSAA, it is better to force it with your video card settings and AMD has a range of good antialiasing filters to choose from. Spider-Vice
I think this issue has been fixed in this update, at least it seemed to be so as I didn't alt-tab or anything and I could go below 60 FPS without it locking to 30. let your hopes and dreams turn into burning fire! Hi Can you confirm whether vsync's working fine without alt+tab or re enabling. Could you please try this as well? Keep Vsync on and exit the game. then open it again, straightly go into storymode and then check again? I would be really happy if this is fixed. Spider-Vice
I can confirm it's not fixed unfortunately. After testing again, it's still there. let your hopes and dreams turn into burning fire! Testing1234
So do you guys alt+tab everytime you play? Isn't that a little annoying?
Spider-Vice
I just cycle vsync off then back on. That fixes it too. TheHumanIsland
I just tap alt+enter twice to exit and reenter fullscreen, same thing but faster than options tweaks or tabbing all the way out of focus. If it still performs poorly after that, something else is wrong. Edited June 10, 2016 by TheHumanIsland
Testing1234
Hi, You guys should try this which doesn't need any doing. Try borderless window without vsync if you are on windows 7. If it doesn't work try with a windows aero theme.
