With the Catalina fact I can agree with, the only thing that bothers me is how Cesar didn't warn CJ of what a bitch she was.

Come on, it didn't always play out like that.

 

CJ did all that for a lot of the game because of the situation of his brother being in jail. He starts doing his own gangsta stuff and then eventually kills the people holding him to ransom and he even threatens to kill Toreno when he's had enough his ordering him around.

People who hate CJ probably had played Vice City first before San Andreas.

 

From the beginning, you'd have a sense that Tommy Vercetti was a straight up bad ass despite him staring off from the bottom of the crime chain, you'd have a sense that he knows what he's doing. In San Andreas, CJ had to crawl his way up, it felt very slow. He's the manifestation of every person playing the game for the first time, everything felt new, you were just as an outsider as CJ was and from someone who just wants to go on a murder spree and feel like a total bad ass about it, his character feels rather disappointing.

 

I don't him hate him though, with so many things going on in San Andreas his character doesn't bother me that much.

They just don't know any way to tackle the sheer popularity CJ has, poor haters.

I just know it really bothers a lot of haters that SA was so successful and popular, and that the protagonist was black too.

I just bought the remastered game, never have I played this before & CJ is his own person. Clearly my fave of all GTA games. Wtf was I missing not owning this masterpiece game.

There'll never be a GTA as amazing as SA, or able to surpass this game. Not happening at all. I can guarantee that mainly due to the direction the series is moving, that is, multiplayer focus has now become very important for future titles, along with the changes introduced in terms of realism, and the restrictions placed in the game world giving an impression of GTA becoming more anti-fun and anti-mayhem shifting more towards a life simulator and no longer as open ended with greater amount of freedom and choices made available, instead much of the gameplay and appeal have regressed ever since HD transition.

 

For the topic:

I believe lack of better graphics, high quality animations and cinematics, physics and rag doll obsession along with many of the modern gaming addiction has turned many players away from the cartoony adventures of CJ, no matter how much fun this game STILL can be.

I know what you mean. My GTA San Andreas remastered is new to me. I have never ever played this game and it feels so damn new to me, fun & crazy. Buying safehouses is something I have never seen. Of course vice city but this game, is like single player dream to me of what online is to most. CJ is one bad a$$ mother fu$$ke*!

I know how you feel. I bought SA when it first came out 12 years ago and finished the SP campaign, and I loved it then - but I had not played the game for 10 years until last year November when I got the PS4 remaster. I realised on the second playthrough thay there was a ton of great stuff I overlooked in this game, and it also made me realise how much I missed the glory days when GTA's SP experience was firing on all cylinders.

 

Better late then never for you though. SA, frankly is the best GTA game content and feature wise in the entire series. How anyone can call themselves GTA fans and never play this game is beyond me !

This is why in my current gameplay I left out the fun missions & import export until after the main plot story.

As in Girlfriends? I go after Katie & Michelle & find them after the story. Giving CJ as I the gamer feels moving away from Backstabbing ST! Sweet is one stupid f^%#k of a pr!ck I've ever hated in the history of all games.

Back on my point; as a gamer to the best game ever made, God bless this game, Honestly! I felt Ceaser was more of a Brother than Sweet. Always looking out. CJ's sister felt happy living in SF as CJ did saying how it's something peaceful here to Ceaser, hell he liked it too!!!

 

CJ made money as in close to a legitimate Business as possible as his sister & Ceaser helped & The truth helping too. So after Alllllllllll and alllllllll and on and on CJ did & Toreno making CJ a complete bad a$$ military fighting machine with access of HIS air runway, all that. Sweet comes out of a luxury prison to demand & school CJ? Man, FU sweet, I mean FFFF times a mil!!!

 

This is the best story for me to react this way. I'll tell you, in my version of this game, I will never return to grove, ever. You clean the rest up of you sh! T Sweet, Mr. Leader of the hood, green wearing son of ~~~~~!
