Grand Theft Auto:Staunton Stories is a modification for GTA lll which is amed to add missions and new atcivities as well as add new models into the game.

After the negative backlash and serious doubts of my previous mod i went directly to this one..But at the time i had no idea how to edit models and i barely knew how to edit textures.

The idea from the start was going to be a man running from the mafia weeks prior to this mod i showed Mario the script without finding anything to do with it..

You are not ready for total conversions yet. Maybe start with something smaller like many others tried to tell you?

Don't get me wrong i see your point but if i do cancel it...all the work i'd done would be for nothing..As far as i'm concered i'm gonna try to work on the mod for as long as i can.

 

On Topic:The character might have a name and if he does it'll be John Vega.

As of right now the story is nothing more than an idea in my head i'm more intrested in the models and textures as of right now.

If you are open to some criticism, here goes.

 

If you are willing to create a Total Conversion, I think you shouldn't open a topic just yet. Try learning some scripting, some mapping, get a team together, and create you're own TC when you got all o'this together.

 

Since I see you can create peds, you should instead open a Workshop and release your own minimal mods in there.

 

Hope you get this piece of advice and good luck if you're willing to do anything mentioned up there. :^:

 

EDIT: I speak from my own experience. Trust me, it's better if you listen to me and everyone else that tells you the same.

Yeah i actually might take your advice on this one...i'm gonna release small mods for now and then in a few months or so i'm gonna come back to this one.

Anyways i'm gonna release a workshop in a little bit i'm looking at all my old files from my Cartooned mod...turns out i got farther in it than i remember (weapons cars 50% of peds and trees were finished)

New triads are finished i would use this model as the protagonist but he's too low poly and his texture is all over the place.

Only problem is im having trouble exporting the model

His hierarchy must be the same as the other peds. Once you did the model changes and organized the hierarchy (if it isn't like before), export with The Hero's tool (it's literarily the best tool for this since you don't have to export so many times to get the model ingame without crashes).

My problem is whenever i use Kam's script to export it says it can't select the skin and after that it lets me append the file to the original but it did nothing..i'm gonna install the hero's tool.

Making III peds skinny is not a good idea.

 

For one, they are all a bit fatter so that chunks work nicely.

Second, the way you've done it is over the top. It might look relatively okay in a 3DS Max scene but it will sure look messed up in the game. The proportions are all wrong. :(

what about using one models head and another models body then attaching them would that ruin the model?

I'm locking the mod.I'm simply not ready for Total Conversions yet it was pretty idiotic of me to just jump into the forums and post somewhat-rushed mods.I'm going to release a few small mods here and there and sometime in June when i have a little more expierence,i'll come back to this mod but until then this is cancelled.

i can only show the 3ds max photo's becuase i'm having serious trouble exporting the model.and only few tutorials show how to export/import for GTA 3

 

the only part i could export was the torso and only the left and right key work any other key crashes the game.

Nice, be sure to fix the hand a bit too. He handles the weapon weird.
