Is it better to host or join a PS heist?

So I need to make some money and I thought of doing some heists, especially the Pacific Standard Job. I was wondering if it would be better to host it and spend $100,000 then give myself 40% at the finale, rather than join one and get 15/20%. What one would get me the most amount of money? Thanks!

Hosting with capable friends is the way to go. No trolls or noobs to waste time. Playing with randoms carries an uncertain risk which has netted me the majority of my earnings.

Yeah I was just thinking and nothing bothers me more than when you see a level 160 keep it on easy. I think I will start hosting some.

My preferred method is to have an ongoing PacStan on your the setup board, so all quick join attempts get me a PacStan mission. Then I just snipe Bikes or finales. Hosting your own Heist means having to deal with finding people for Vans and Signal. As I know from myself, nobody wants to join those.

Of course the actual best way is to have a group of friends or crew members who can run it all quickly.

I just helped a friend do it twice today with friends in a party.

Host it with friends and do it with randoms who have mics and things go smoothly.

Well it's a matter of luck. There are days where I join several PS finales and the hosts decide to give me a 20/25% cut (I'll accept 15% if I just joined the finale) and days where I get nothing but Fleeca - Scope Out preps.

Hosting is safer but it usually takes more time and a lot of patience if you have to rely on randoms.

Hosting is a thankless job. As host you pay the 100K startup fee, you do all the set up missions without getting paid a dime, and once you get to the finale, you'll have some rank 20 refuse to ready up unless they get at least 25%.

Many consider the Pac Standard Bikes and the Finale to be the easiest of all the heists. I still have my brain fart days on Fleeca (the drill part) and Series A, the trash truck and the Yacht, I still make a mistake now and then.

Prison Break is a rush if youre on the ground team

With the Humane lab raids be sure to have a mic so you can snipe out the scientists same time.

If youre hosting, be patient with randoms, and newbies, Majority get it right by the fourth try once they get practice

It shouldn't matter too much in money if you're hosting or joining. Obviously hosting gives you more control. Joining gets you slightly more money depending on if you get 20%. I tried to work out the Mathematics below to make it more clear.

40/20/20/20:

Each crew member: 25,000 (set up) x 5 = 125,000 (all set ups) + 250,000 (finale) = 375,000 (total)
Host: 500,000 (finale) - 100,000 (initial cost) = 400,000 (total)

Difference: Each crew member made $25,000 more then host.

($4,000 less if you trip skip on the convoy set up)

55/15/15/15:

Each crew member: 25,000 (set up) x 5 = 125,000 (set ups) + 187,500 (finale) = 312,500 (total)
Host: 687,500 (finale) - 100,000 (initial cost) = 587,500 (total)

Difference: Host made $275,000 more then each crew member.

The reason people do certain setups on normal or easy is that if some piece of random bad luck happens eating 25% of the pay is less trouble over time than having to re-play something a few times... particularly if you have to pick up a random or carry a low level through something, and especially on the really long ones where something stupid at the end means you have to waste another 10 minutes with which you could have just knocked out another setup.

I don't know why there's so much hate for inviting or joining at random... I've had more good experiences than bad and that's how I've accumulated a few pages worth of reliable "friends" to invite or join in the future. I have different tiers of people, guys that are really cool that you can deal with for hours on end, guys that are decent players but obnoxious, and even some little kids that aren't very good and are annoying but can fill a slot and follow directions in a pinch.

OP, if you're on PS4 my username is my PSN name, friend me and hit me up some night (Eastern time) and if you don't take yourself too seriously we can fill out a team to do Pac Standard setups and/or finale with you.

Hosting for sure, but is more painful. If you host, you will never get left out of a heist, so many people screw you over now days and leave you out of the finale. I will almost never join a random heist now days and if I do, it is generally just to do 1 setup because I am bored, rarely will I do more than 2 setups.

if you host, you have full control.

The downside is if you don't have friends, you dealing with the randumb syndrome .. I think hosts should get more than 40% by default just dealing with all the crap. That been said, you can find good randoms as well that make it less painful.

I will almost always leave if I see it on normal and easy isn't even a question. There is really no reason to have any setups on normal except for a few setups like Trash Truck, maybe Coke, but that's it .. convoy isn't necessary any more if you put the truck on the mountain behind you and you control the setup, otherwise no excuse, I see it as a selfish host who won't get my time.

I have pretty much nailed trash truck down, I hate this setup the most, but there is a way to make it 95% infallible .. of course the guys on the back are generally the weakest point if they not watch their health.

But for the gas station, this is the most problematic, I park the truck at the back in the alley, you can then defend this area pretty easily, it's a bit of a tight squeeze to get the bags thru, but haven't had any problems.

For the other one, I park the truck at a certain spot, I drive around the block and come in the alley and put the truck to the right, that way it's easy to defend.

I will make a video one day and post it. Just be creative where you park

If I join a Pac Standard setup and see difficulty set to normal or easy, I leave as soon as I can. The way I see it, if I do the setup and the host doesn't invite me to the finale, I at least got 26K. Hosts who put the vans setup mission on normal or easy are the worst.

If they have vans on anything other than hard you just KNOW they don't know what they're doing, so yeah, that's a sign of trouble and likely having to re-try at least once per. Also agreed, convoy shouldn't be failed unless someone blows up the deuce and a half, same with bikes, shouldn't be failed unless you get a chain reaction explosion that takes out a bike.

Furthermore, if you're joining a random host they're likely as not thinking they'd better put it on easy or normal if they want to assemble a bunch of randoms to bang things out. Hard/normal for me would depend on who else was joining and how well they knew the particular job, if you're looking to just fill an empty slot with the first muff who jumps in and you're setting it on hard you're really setting yourself up for a disappointment IMO. If you have 3 friends that have done something a couple dozen times it's a little easier, even then, mostly this is "grinding" anyway which implies that it's a chore so IDK why you would want to make things harder than absolutely necessary.

If you don't need the money or RP then just join at random and have fun with it. If you are trying to grind for profit, join random jobs until you meet like minded players. People who take themselves too serious playing a silly game are the absolute worst. I'd rather play with someone who is terrible and fails constantly but who has a good attitude and sense of humor about it. I guess we all have our preferences though and some folks get their kicks out of being perfectionists or raising the bar on challenging themselves, to each their own.

Trash Truck is simple.

Every member loads in with a Kuruma. Park each Kuruma to each pick up site BEFORE picking up the trash truck.

Pick up a couple bags and everyone get inside the Kuruma when the enemies start spawning.

When all the bags are picked up at the final site, everyone requests their kurumas. All three players ride in their Kurumas escorting the trash truck back to the warehouse.

Done!

@AZN Knight, awesome, I already use the Kuruma for the pac standard set ups and finale, In the set up we drive to the second beach to the second set of waverunners to make the car getaway Then we use it again in the Van set up to take out all the bad guys.

Glad to collect more Kuruma methods to try, Never heard of that for Trash Truck, will try it.!

And the player comments above yours about nailing the trash truck down, he had a lot of good points too, ideas to make without the Kuruma.

Lots of great comments, ideas here, Amazed Im still learning new things

I suggest you join them. Hosting will take your money to start one up and you will have no choice but to wait for people to join your invite...and we all know that takes a lot of time to get four people queued up and ready.

If you join, you are free to come and go as you please.

Prison Break Finale too.

Just before you enter the prison yard, on3 of you requests your Kuruma. Then, you enter in. As soon as you both exit the bus, shoot the two guards immediately to your left, run toward the exit and shoot the guard by the stairs and the one above you. Both of you exit the prison. Do not have one climb up or you will trigger the next checkpoint which will give you the 'Out of area' notification.

Grab the Kuruma and climb the barrier to your left. Keep driving until you find the entrance to your right. Enter in and blast your way out. It's also an easier and faster getaway toward the airfield than with that stupod armoured truck at the exit.

I honestly love hosting. I set my payout to 0% and give as much as I can to the other members, if someone else joins and is a high level I ask them if they would kindly donate their cut to the lowest level member. Once you get over the fact that some people are not perfect, and sometimes the heist will fail, it's all good fun. I'd recommend anyone doing it if you don't actually need the money.

If you're going to host it I would recommend doing it with friends/Crew mates only. Depending on randoms is not advisable. Join a crew that is heist/mission orientated so you can gain access to a list of people.

For goodness sake if you're going to be hosting PS finale.... Kick anyone that is not maxed out on skills. No low levels. It's harsh and cruel, yes, but remember that low levels are raw eggs... you drop one on the ground and the shell will crack and the yoke will splatter all over the ground. At least with mid to high level ranks they've been boiling up for a while and became hard.
