Homing Launcher appreciation thread.

Just 90%? You're bad.

 

Plenty of people had to stand outside an Ammunation and they still fail to shoot me down after several runs into it. (Keep in mind this was before the update that allows you to buy directly from the interaction menu)

the hl is very good for catching griefers who kill and run away in a car.

they don't even hear the lock on sound in their car while escaping.

Be driving around town minding my own business

happen to pass someone on the sidewalk who begins trying to shoot me out of my vehicle

drive off as he locks onto my car and kills me

teleports to his apartment before I can f*ck him up

 

just the typical cowardice you can expect from the easy kill homing launcher crowd

As someone who is working on his flying skills I love the HL. I'm still getting shot out of my hydra from time to time, but if it weren't for them I wouldn't be getting much practice in defensive maneuvers.

I remember the first time a buzzard was approaching me looking for an easy kill after the launcher was made available. Turned tail and headed for the hills once I'd locked on. Never even had any ammo:)

The overpowered homing launcher in a nutshell. Most of the times people don't even care and lock on just because they can. Doesn't even take effort to kill with it, so why not? If this is the sentiment regarding this weapon, you know for a fact that it's OP. It's literally easier than killing an AFK player in the middle of the desert, while you're in a Hydra.

I wait for the rocket to come really close and just hit passive mode and then come out of it, that is if I'm in a normal plane or chopper and I' just tryna go about my business, if I'm in combat, I don't believe in passive.

Um ... Not really. I mean, technically it can happen, but it's like saying technically a little fly might beat up Mike Tyson. It won't happen often.

This weapon needs work. It was put into the game to stop jets but it's worthless at it.

 

But god forbid you own a helicopter or a Miljet or a Duster. Yo ass is going to have to walk home.

^ You can avoid them 95% of the time from the front, in the Buzzard, so it's not quite that black and white. If you're flying away from the launcher then yeah you got problems.

You don't always know where the front is though. When there are three people in different positions, the front could be anywhere. And a mistake of just a few degrees will mess it up.

 

I'd say it's more like 50/50 anyway, even when done right - I mean, sometime sit just turns around regardless.

Civilian aircraft have a hard time with it. Yeah if you're in a combat helicopter looking right at the person taking aim you have a better chance of getting away. When I'm just trying to get somewhere flying over the mountains and someone fires at me that's when you're in trouble.

Its a beast if you are flying with the sound turned off. Id reccomend rockstar remove the lock sound, so much more intense for pilots.

No way - I would think its armed then, dont know what they could hit with it though

Depends on the angle, sometimes they even miss my dodo. Not that one homer bothers a plane much.

The HL took away the buzzard vs groundtroops dog fights i miss them alot

Just use the sniper to line up your shot, switch to the HL and press aim & fire together. I'd rather we had more ammo capacity for it - at least 20 rockets - and would like to be able to toggle the lock on and off. If it would do those 2 things I'd ditch the RPG.

Yeah, it can be a bit tricky, but if you get the player as close to the center of your screen as possible before hitting aim it does usually target them with priority over cops & other NPCs. I often have to aim a few times to get the target I want. Also, once you're locked aim up a little bit so the rocket leaves at a slight upward angle. That usually gets over the issue of hitting the ground before reaching your target
