Whos Done New Accounts or Secondary Character. Whats your stories? Whats your experiences?

Whats it like seeing the world of GTA 5 starting from scratch?

And what motivated you to do it?

A lot easier the second time through. I made my second character 1 year and 2 months after making my first character. Now they're the same rank.

The way I see it, Its the perfect opportunity for someone that has it all and done it all, to see GTA 5 with new eyes. Start fresh and have a second chance to discover what weapons, mods and cars are really important to you and what was a impulse buy

Its also an opportunity to show off your real skills without making the mistakes of a noob.

 

Ive only heard positive things from those that have taken the plunge and done it. Yes, doing the second character slot is easy cause you share the money and the K/D right?

 

But has anyone started solely from scratch from a whole new account on their console.

Yes, I have two characters, one is male and another is female:

 

I like the female character the most, and she's the only character who is above rank 200.

Yeah, the funnest part is having high rank players go into a rage after you whup their azzes.

 

Ive helped out low rank friends and shot out multiple players loaded up in one gunner insurgent many times then they hightail it out of there after they respawn. lol

@Audi, I know someone that kept their original account and their new account was supported and still able to go online on same console. Yes, I definately see ones original character like a historical protected artifact, sacred, lol. I feel the same way

I had my since launch young male main (level 329), made a old male character while playing around with the character creation system who is level 70 and I use for daily objectives and being under the radar as a lower level. Also starting on another character reminds me how hard the game is when you start as I tried to spend as little as possible on stuff to simulate that new player-ness.

@xxviolent. I like the minimalist approach too. Nothing like cruising around as a underdog killing machine after I pull out of my 30k garage in my 30k car and15k Bati 801.

 

Talk about raw beast rush. Warrior off the street feel.

I grew tired of having to sell a vehicle to buy a vehicle, so created a second character to open up an extra 30 (now 50) garage slots...it was initially a little frustrating having to unlock everything again, but it was worth it - 100 vehicles, all modded/upgraded to my tastes, access to all clothing (male & female) etc. - it opens up a ton of possibilities if you can get over that initial frustration!

@Johnny, Excellent approach for the car collector ! Thats definately a method to be able to buy everything that way.

 

Does anyone know if the secondary character can get any heist bonuses or not to help buy the cars? Probaly not Im assuming , So its just about ranking up to do all those unlocks.

 

I miss the vehicle I use for my No Crash Challenge and the Speed Challenge wins.I can only place second when I used to win in every lobby. Im not there yet to unlock the highest engines and transmissions upgrade, but soon

I created a second character shortly after CG launch for I missed the opportunity to alter my first character's appearance.

 

My goal was to make my character look like me as much as possible. So, I decided to create a second character after my first was +250lvl.

 

I spent a good amount of time with new character creation system and did a great job on my 3rd attempt, so tech my 3rd character.

 

After that, I was determined to reach lvl 80-100 before heists were released which I did no problem!

 

So, now I have one character @ 278 and the other @ 376.

 

PS I wasn't privy to the fact players could create a support ticket to alter character appearance until way after heists were released lol.

@Aaron, yeah, my friends motivation might be the same. hes rank 190, but has constantly kept on a mask or facepaint . Hes looking forward to starting over to recreate his character more to his liking and more towards his own appearance.

 

Excellent ranks for both. It doesnt take that long for the second .. or third, character to rank up once you have the skills and experience, so I hope to undo the fear anyone may have whos hesitating.

I have.1 2 3 4 yes 4 accounts with at least one character over lvl 120. 2 characters on each full garages on all accounts

Ive made a 2nd character on my main account to play with some friends who still played on last gen (main character on current gen) and I made another account to start a new one

First character looks 80% like me and almost has it all... Five fully packed garages, yacht, Hydra,... And is level 245 if I recall correctly (haven't played as him for over two months)

 

Then I wanted a second character, mostly cos I wanted to create a smoking hot female.. And I succeeded, hehe... I like to d ress her as hot as possible and currently she's at level 113... I can now decide which things are important and which things I shouldn't waste money on...

 

I love playing as her, mainly cos I like her sexy style/walk and behind...

I have an OG account from the start, transferred to PS4 where he's rank 260. The girl is 70 or so.

 

I started a brand new PSN account name back on PS3 so I can have a recovery service done soon because there are certain vehicles I want and I can't afford a gaming PC and modding my console seems too risky. I've earned all my awards and trophies legit on my first account, so I don't really feel like I'm cheating when they'll just auto-complete anyway.

 

Having a new "noob" account while having all the experience I do and being the wild card is pretty enjoyable. People think they can roll over you and you put em in their place.

If I remember correctly, the Heist bonuses are (unfortunately) only awarded once per account, rather than one bonus for each character with an account - but you can do Daily Objectives on each character to double your rewards & you can also get around the 4hour VIP time limit by switching characters and starting another 4hour cycle

@Hell and Seen, LOL ! Number one reason for the secondary account, a chance to mold a hot girl. Cause I did it too. I dress her up like a little doll or seductress and then log her out, I dont want to see her fighting, Havent got to that point yet

 

I prefer the new account , new email method but can see where the second slot character is fun.

@Johnny, thank you for the VIP secondary character advice ! I never even thought of that before., I was frustrated with the 4hr timer. I will definately do a long stretch on my weekend with sightseer and my buzzard.

Then I have another account male and female character with 1.4 billion GTA dollars. It's a interesting experience being super rich but level 1. Just need to find motivation to rank them up.

I was put in bad sport for two months on ps3 because of receiving modded money, I made a new account and was generally thrilled to unlock sticky bombs all over again, I had to use the account recently because of a psn ban so it was nice seeing my old alt character again.

I made a second character a long time ago,so I could have more garage space.Now I use my first character for storing mostly classic vehicles (vehicles made before the 1990s,with a few exceptions),and my second character for storing modern vehicles.
