Ballistic Jello Posted February 19, 2003 Share Posted February 19, 2003 Hey, you could classify me as a ricer, (although my dad has a '79 Porsche 930 Turbo, and a 1991 Mercedes sedan). We have a '96 civic hatchback that has larger than stock (only 17", not some stupid 22" ones) a larger than factory exhaust(that makes the car not sound like a weed eater (see chrgr67's sig quote-listed below), a lowered suspension (that dropped the car 1.5", not so it's half an inch off the ground) and we are installing some Recaro seats (which are because we are going to enter it in autocross events because it has incredible handling, which is even better with the wider tires). I am not a ricer so much as a light appearance car modder, not a stupid car modder. I hate when I read Sport Compact Car and see an ad where somebody has taken an eclipse or a civic or a celica, or whatever, and they lower 20 inches so it scrapes the ground and it has a 20 foot tall wing on the back and a huge ugly body kit, and dual exhaust pipes even though it's only a four banger, it pisses me off. Grrrrrrrr. If you want a stupid show car, buy an escalade. (Nothing against Cadillac, I like their new cars, but the Escalade is overkill in all departments.) I like modifying a car so that it has simple good looks. That's how our civic looks. We took off the badges and lowered it a tad, and added larger wheels, that didn't have the ugly factory holes and crap. Even though the green eclipse and orange supra in FnF had tons of stuff on them, when you looked at them they looked good. They had been tastefully modified, somebody didn't just lower them four inches and put a huge ugly wing on the back. They both did have large wings, but they looked good on those cars because of the way the rest of it looked. The lime green was kind of weird, though. Chrgr67's sig(I don't know if he still has this)(This is close to it) Charger pulls up to Civic at a stoplight. Charger driver says "Let's hear it" Civic driver revs it up. Or fly right into a tank and get blown up before you even fall off the bike. So you're still on the bike looking all crispy. Using a PCJ while being chased with 6 stars is fun.
