GTA Online Character Name-Letter/Symbol Limit?

I've been wondering about something concerning the names we can give to our GTA Online Characters, having to do with the limit of letters we can type while creating the character.

For example, when I named my Character a year and a half ago, I originally had the intention to name him "Holister Black." However, due to what I assumed to be a letter-limit it became this name instead:

 

 

Now I'm actually fine with the name Holister Bla as it sounds distinctive and I don't find anything wrong with it. I do have the curiosity to wonder if there actually was a letter limit or whether or not something else happened as I was making this character. Even a time skip later, the name is still there:

 

 

 

This is just something that's been in the back of my head for some time. Now if someone could give me a definitive answer as to whether or not there are character(letter/symbols) limits while creating a character, I would greatly appreciate it.

Why does it matter only you see it. Your gamertag is your characters name to everyone else. I'm certain the limitation is there for a first name basis and nothing more.

I know, it's just something that's been in the back of my head but haven't cared enough to ask until now. It seems like a strange question considering only we see the name but the OCD inside me would care for a definitive answer. (Also, so I can write fanfictions or direct machinimas, writing the official name for the character would put my mind at ease.)

lol. Look, all I want to know is what the maximum character(letter/spaces) limit is when creating a GTA Online Character.

Well, simply counting your names letters and spaces gives us 12 characters.

So I would say 12 is the maximum.
