GTA ONLINE has generated over half a billion dollars in revenue

Logic suggests that if they make a sh*tload of money off this game then they'll make the next one pretty much the same thing. If they can get away with something that has as many bugs as this game and still make money, then why the hell would they bother fixing it?

 

They need a good system architect, preferably someone who understands the need for frameworks in large applications. Just that basic, sensible approach would have stopped the vast majority of bugs from ever happening. And don't even get me started on the sh*tty connection.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I will never be a day-1 customer of any Rockstar game, unless the seriously get their act together over the next few titles. In fact, I doubt I'll ever buy another Rockstar game brand new. I'd rather buy it 2nd hand so they don't get a penny of my money.

GTAO and the content being added into it has nothing to do with Leslie leaving at all, that's just between the Housers and him over what's there in the documents. If you feel that Grand Theft Auto, and R* as a whole are going to suffer in the long run, stop acting like a bunch of girls over it and stop crying and playing their games.

Amazing to think that three years later and I haven't contributed one cent to that 500 million and it's the only game I play nowadays. If you just play the game and have a little patience you don't need to spend anything.

 

It's sad to see this infighting at Rockstar, but nothing last forever and money does change people, and we don't know the real reasons for these shifts in the direction.

 

All we can hope is that gta6 will be amazing, which I'm sure it will be. i personally hope GTA expands online even more. With GTA 5, i had no interest in story mode, I knew online was where I wanted to be, and it exceeded my expectations.

Nearly the only games that R* makes that are any good are the GTA series ... Red Dead Redemption was OK ... midnight club was ok (not nearly as good as the NFS underground offerings of the time) ... Manhunt series / bully / LA Noir were all sh*t.

RDR was one of the biggest games of last-gen and possibly the best western game. Even those that don't like western could enjoy the game due to its deep story-telling, many side activities/missions and its beautiful world. Midnight Club has one of the best car customization I've seen and that's including any NFS game (only one that really changed the customization game was NFS Carbon with its shaping stuff). Manhunt was meant to be controversial, Bully has tons of content and L.A Noire was a step forward for technology. Just because YOU don't enjoy these games doesn't mean they're sh*t.

you arent seeing the big picture. The Benz leaving might not be that critical NOW, but in the near future, somebody is going the see the damage that they caused, which will be rockstar, and then, ultimately, the fans.

I'll leave it in the middle, but fact is The Benz left the company, and didn't have any rights towards royalties, unless decided otherwise by R*s president, which is SH.

The Benz put his signature under that agreement back in 2009, period.

Are you trolling or did you not read all of the emails? RDR would've never been what it is today without Benz. They literally begged Benz to help them with the game because they didn't know WTF they were doing without him. So he comes and helps them and within months the game is finished...And you have the nerve to call him a money whore when he asks for his fair share of the profits for it? I guess you didn't see the profits spread sheet either? Also him leaving the company wasn't his idea, Rock* offered him a paid sabbatical for his hard work on GTA V, then when he tried to come back to work they changed his key code on him. Although probably a troll post, consider that the Benzie complaint was filed 4/12/16. And the allegations include an in depth factual history of r* and the realtionships at the highest level. Also consider that the story up to this point was that he went on leave and ultimately left on some what agreeable terms. That is comepletely shattered. Benzie was the master technican that has brought the game most have loved and played for years. Its normal to have some response and discuss it here on the forum. Just sayin.

I was nice to support Rockstar by buying my fourth 20 dollar shark card just to be nice when I didnt even need it. (cause I made 70 million legit career money) And what do I get in return? My SIXTH bad sport sentence ! So wow, its nice to show off my new Bennys van in an empty bad sport lobby.

 

They seriously need to do away with Bad Sports, They need to make it a 3 day ban each time. Not in doubling increments to where youre looking months down the road even years to get back in. Some of the most loyal players and customers right there they are locking out of the main servers.

Then behave yourself! I got chat banned 3 times and matchmaking restricted for calling people bitches and p*$$ies in freemode. The reason there's consequences in video games is so people will play the game knowing bad apples will be punished. How many people complain about the hackers on PC and threaten to leave the platform because they are not being dealt with? That being said, people that expect to drive freely in freemode without being hurt should just piss off, because the ones that are claiming to be friendly are the ones that end up sneaking a kill and leaving the session. That logic doesn't flow, though... because they made a sh*t load of money with San Andreas, and made the next game very different, then made a sh*t load of money with GTA IV, and made the next game very different...

 

There will be microtransactions. Yes. But to expect GTA to end up as a Madden or Call of Duty type of game, where you're pretty much playing the identical game every year aside from different items and maps, well, I REALLY don't think we have anything to worry about.

 

I also wouldn't worry about Rockstar's inner turmoil - GTA is too big to fail. It makes way too much money for the series to just fall apart. SOMEONE will step in and resume business as usual, or they will hire the best of the best, or whatever. Whatever it takes, there will be a GTA 6, and it will be a significant upgrade in many ways, because that's what Rockstar does with the GTA series. (Except Vice City, there wasn't a major significant change made there, but it came out a year after GTA III.)

Lack of high performance helicopters that can avoid the homing launcher as easy as a jet can. Rotate the camera so you can see the missile and maneuver away from it. This is only effective with the Valkyrie and the Buzzard as the Savage is a sitting duck. Edited April 13, 2016 by Retroview1955

The Benz was the brains behind Online, the Houser cokeheads did not want anything to do with Online.

 

You take the man who lead the development of GTAO away, the next GTA will have an arguably worse multiplayer experience.

 

It's a fact. The Benz brought us Heists. Look at what Sarwar (the current lead developer) brought us, Adversary Modes. It all went downhill from there with the GENIUS idea of dripfeeding vehicles already included in the game files.

One person in software engineering doesn't make all the decisions. It's a group effort. They have tons of ideas as they have said while The Benz was absent. They have seen what makes their audience buy into the product. They know we what want and I'm positive they scour the Internet to see what we like and what we hate. It would be stupid as hell if they discarded all the data and feedback given by the GTA community. I have been following this too and unless I have missed something, you all are making a monster out of Take-Two Interactive without any supporting evidence of deception. All you have to go on is what the media sites say and we all know how the media does stories: they focus on the negative aspect of the story. Relax people and grab an eCola and a Meteorite pie. Let's just wait it out and see what happens...
