How to Upgrade a Vehicle in Benny's without spending cash (More or

You want to see how the Custom Sabre (Example) looks like and what can you do to it. You don't want to just go onto Youtube and go through some Youtuber's 15 minute Video with them commenting about every single little thing. You want to check it out yourself. But what if you don't like? What if you decide "Oh my god, there isn't that much to do on this!" or "It isn't as cool as I thought it would be". Well, now you can get a full fledged refund without just Selling the car and getting back less than how much you spent using this glitch I call "Benny's Try before you buy".

 

Just follow these easy steps:

 

1.) Get the car you want to see upgraded

 

2.) Go to Benny's

 

3.) Upgrade the car

 

4.) Take a look around in the Upgrades. See if you like how it looks. This is also a good way to see Worn colors and decide if they match your standards or not

 

5.) Once you're finished and you think you don't want to keep it or the Color is too ugly or it doesn't match your preference, simply quit the game (DON'T GO INTO STORY MODE) without getting out of Benny's Shop.

 

6.) When you get back into the game, you'll find you have gotten all your cash you spent back. A Full Fledged Refund. 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

 

And there you have it, that is how you can save money on upgrading your car in Benny's. Useful if you're gonna buy it later because you don't have the funds yet, you don't like the options available or some other 3rd reason. Granted, if you want to actually drive the car, that's a whole different story.

It will come in handy since the cars aren't in story mode, where I used to preview cars and colors before making a purchase online.

Without the ability to preview new cars, it really has limited my excitement about splurging on something I originally wasn't planning on buying.

This will probably get patched now, when really it should have been allowed from the start. Try out all mods, and then hit "Finalise" or something to pay. There are simply too many possible combinations to make us pay for every step.

Stupid we have to resort to a glitch to see what all the mods would look like together before committing to a purchase. I've said it before, when modding vehicles at Benny's and normal mod shops, all mods should be applied and "added to cart" so no money is spent until you decide on all mods you want. That way you could preview primary/secondary colour combinations etc.. without wasting money.

 

It's more of a The Benz idea though so it will never be implemented.

It wont be patched, that is the patch, to stop lsc glitches the mods save when you leave, its not a glitch, its nothing. Everyone has known that since years ago.

This actually is a pretty handy way to have a look on custom-options. If you cant make a car look like you want, you don't blow a million on it. It's a shame we need to do it this way, but it's good to know.

Shopping cart and checkout would obviously be better... Even ifruit works that way. I have spent quite a few bucks changing color back and forth, rims, other options. Before Benny i spent easily double the money i SHOULD have spent, just checking out combinations on few cars.

This method was temporarily patched back in mid 2014, not sure if anyone remembered. (Right before crew matte/ crew metal went RIP) Somewhere down the line, it was unpatched again. I would be weary of this method because you can get carried away inside Benny's and lose a lot of money on accident, as I did on paint jobs/pearlescent previewing back in 2014 when it became patched at one point without my knowledge beforehand.

 

I'm going to have to agree and suggest to stick to YouTube or pics on appreciation threads.

Honestly I don't understand why there isn't a system where you apply everything you want then buy in one full purchase, allowing one to play around with the possibilities of what he may want & to compare this part with that paint colour & so on...

Personally I think the above should be allowed, have to say it's very similar to the Pacific Standard glitch in that I don't think it's possible to patch this one

but don't quote me on that.

 

I also think this is why no new content has been added to story mode with recent updates as my theory has always been R* don't want us previewing something

before spending our online cash so thus not adding vehicles to single player.

There's some miscommuncation going on here, chief. First off, OP has a misleading title as the vehicle isn't upgraded (technically). Second, way to read the post where he explains that you can do this if you don't like the customization options and it's simply an eject button from losing money on something you don't like.

People who think Youtube vids are full of chrome cars are missing out on GTA Series Videos. Here's every single option for the Minvan shown without anyone talking over it. Bonus: the van isn't made out of chrome. That or stick to appreciation threads. Anyone else wanting to rebuttal this with "R* should let us preview this sh*t!* well they're not so if you don't want to spend a dime and want to see the new stuff these are the only alternatives.

This is f*cked up. A day after I post this topic, all of a sudden there's alot of Youtube videos saying how to do this glitch. And, as per Youtuber tradition, do not give credit to the source. Because, y'know, why not? Let's face it: If I did not post this topic, literally all those Youtube videos would not be up right now. This is messed up.

 

EDIT: Ok, some youtube videos don't give me credit. But still...
