NumaYay
The street name "Morningwood" in GTA V is stolen from the Simpsons: At first I thought "Hahahaha Morningwood, funny!" - but then I saw that name in the Simpsons, so R* did just a copy&paste job by stealing that idea. Maybe R* has stolen even more from the Simpsons, have you seen something else?
CanOdope
Both GTA and The Simpsons are known for "dirty" jokes. Just because they both used the term "morningwood" does not mean one stole the idea from the other. I'd be more inclined to believe that if both used the term as the name of the same thing. By your logic, the fact that the protagonist can smoke weed must've been "copy/pasted" directly from the show Weeds. Pedinhuh
...There are over 40 cities in US of A with the name of Springfield. Will you also say that The Simpsons stole that name of all of these cities? XenoxX
Nico
Suddenly everything is stolen, let's completely ignore the fact that most of these names are pretty common and let's aim with the finger at everything and yell "STOLEN!" Isn't "Morningwood" used in Saints Row: The Third as well? I'm pretty sure that game is way more recent than that Simpsons episode. Sergiu
Morningwood is simply a common slang term for the, well, morning erection. It has been used in many TV shows, movies, games, etc. This joke is as old as jokes can get, really. StalinBballin
It's also the name of Peter's apartment complex in Office Space. Old joke is old, and it's slightly embarrassing that rockstar would think it's still funny. saintsrow
FranklinsIron
Not such a big deal.. Who cares. Not to original poster but to people saying how lame it is.. The fact people have made it a topic, rinsing the idea, in my opinion Rockstar have been a success. "Make something that's spoke about, thus increasing relevance, good or bad". PhillBellic
The Name is just a common use of simple slang. Also, hasn't Pop Culture borrowed from each other seemingly for forever? Anyway; redpoint and Michael

XenoxX
I at first, didn't even notice the joke, but yeah the joke is quite common and most likely the real license holder has long since passed away. They didn't just slapped the name randomly in the game but it is right next to Westwood so in my opinion it is quite well inegrated.
