Pc version any better than console version?

Is the pc version any better than the console version or does it suck just as bad or worse? Such as having slow clunky controls, police that spawn on top of you and every damn npc vehicle purposely try to get in your way cutting you off and ignoring traffic signals or did they take advantage of better hardware and actually improve the pc version? Just curious, thanks.

The PC version is the definitive and best version of GTA V. If there is a PC version of a game, 99% of the time it is better.

video goes here

He asked about AI, gameplay mechanics, whether or not the pedestrians are still dicks, etc..., not how well the game runs or how good it can look..

That aside, I immediately modded my game, didn't even bother to play it vanilla, so I can't tell myself. I do know that unarmed pedestrians die from a single shot in the leg.

Yes, the GTAV PC version is miles much better than consoles version.

So much freedom in terms of modding, improving the graphics by using SweetFX/ReShade and the traffic/vehicles density are so much better.

Like B Dawg rightly pointed out, many of the gameplay related problems with the ( last gen ) console versions more or less are not much improved, as far as what I've personally experienced.

They're definitely improvements but are mainly related to the technical aspects of the port, but does not help to say, fully overhaul the games weaknesses like AI, etc. as one would expect over their console counterparts and without any need of modding. Even the problems reported since initial release on LG consoles weren't addressed until months later of downloading the title updates, for instance; animals reporting crimes, and still there are many issues pending as covered under the pinned topic "List of ongoing bugs needing to be fixed"

So, Modding the game is a MUST in order to get the best experience with the PC.

if you want it to work all the time, than console is better.

I have it on pc, and it is playable about 40% of the time i try.

Times i play it i get 100-120 FPS, other times i am lucky if I get over 10 FPS and it isn't playable.

This is certainly not the average players experience with GTAV for PC, in fact its widely recognized as a well optimized and smooth running title.

Is your copy legit? What hardware?

From my experience I can tell GTAV is the best optimized game ever. From the very first day, April 14 last year never

had random FPS changes. He either pirated it or he's bashing the PC platform by saying console is better.

The traffic density is really dense on the PC version which I like, so much vehicles varations to steal lol

Yeah, I'll have to agree that it runs really smooth, graphic wise doesn't look that much different than the PS4 version though (except for the 60fps that is).

Well it depends what settings you are using, hi-res shadows, further draw distance, many, many more things, and especially with AA. Since the PS4 uses FXAA, I can tell you it looks utter sh*te next to my 8xMSAA. There is also frame scaling mode to somewhat render a higher resolution even if you monitor doesn't support it.

The PS4 uses almost 10 year old outdated hardware; so the game will also look 10 years outdated.

I guess you're right, those 'advanced settings' really do make a huge difference, I have them 'off' though, you really do need a beefy rig to run those at 60fps :p

-edit- and the MSAA of course!

Vice City criminal

Unless you have a crappy pc as I do, it really is way better than old and next gen versions.

Well yes that's generally true, I am/was primarily a pc games and only have consoles for gta but frankly this version was a huge disappointment. This game was so full of issues and when they went from ps3/xbox360 to ps4/xbox1 they didn't really fix/change anything so I was just wondering if by some miracle they actually did for the pc version.

You need to learn to read, ddawg is correct, you'd see if you kept reading my original post, sorry if I was unclear. Thanks.

Was afraid of that, thanks. This game has so much potential it's a shame they don't make it as awesome as it could be and fix the issues.
