Do you like Auto-Passive Mode for your protection?

I'm not a fan. Is there a way to disable it on current gen consoles?

 

Nothing like having 20 minutes go by after re-spawning from an ambush and you wonder why there's no action, only to find you were placed in Passive Mode automatically!

UPDATE: I think it's called Enhanced Passive Mode, or Ghost Mode(?) - to protect you from "griefers".

No such thing as "Auto Passive" or "Auto Ghosting", OP. You're pressing the wrong buttons while trying to respawn quicker.

On topic: I've never seen the Ghost Mode in action but to be honest, if I want to go passive in a session I'd rather have control over when it happens.

i see the ghost mode thing in action everyday...

 

after a few kill a message on the screen pop up

 

"Player X have become ghosted to you"

 

people try to abuse it like they do with passive mode, so they follow you around in hopes of getting a cheap kill the moment they become unghosted, so whenever i see the message i start a 1:45mins timer on my ipad, if they start following me i know they are looking for the cheap kill.

 

since i know they are about to come out of ghost mode i can surprise them, instead of they surprise me!

I've used passive mode since ever and I'm definite auto-passive doesn't exist. The game does not automatically take you to passive mode. It automatically takes you OUT of passive mode, not INTO passive.

So I assume we're all talking ghosted mode after 3 kills with no fightback. Yeah I'm cool with this feature, helps when I'm AFC on a dirt road ..I may be rolling up or taking a bathroom break ...and getting spawn killed. Now I don't have to sit and plan my fightback or escape, I can just sit and wait for ghosted then leave in a timely fashion.

There is no "auto passive mode". Stop bashing your controller when you die, or at least wipe your tears away before pressing buttons to respawn.

Pretty much this too. Like.. Passive mode can turn off if you drive through gang hide outs.

 

 

Which is also good to know if you have a passive troll following you around. I always laugh when they follow me through one..then kill them a few seconds later. They think im hacking...

there is auto-unpassive. when the game suddenly takes you out of passive mode. you think your still in passive mode until you realize the red dot coming at you is driving a solid car. by then its too late and your dead.

I never use passive mode. Other than DLC time, who drives around in passive mode? It's just no fun at all! This is the dumbest thing in GTAO! If you don't want to get killed, go into an invite only session. It's annoying as hell when you are having sniper fight with someone and a passive troll start following you around distracting you. That should not be allowed. When someone starts following you around in PM, all you have to do is press start and if their dot is solid, that means they have came out of passive and it's not showing up in game yet, so get ready to kill them.

Only time I ever use passive is if I'm in a unarmed aircraft flying from point a to b. I'd rather die 100 times then be a pussy and admit defeat by going passive.

Okay, this is what's causing what I perceived as "Auto Passive" mode:

 

1) The "respawn" button in racing is the "passive mode" button in freemode/freeroam. So, if you race a lot, "force of habit" can get you into trouble here.

 

2) Also, the button to exit or jump out of your vehicle/aircraft (and QUICKLY while on fire & about to explode!!) is the button that becomes the "passive mode" button during the "Wasted" screen, which occurs right as you're doing drum-rolls on the EXIT vehicle button (at which point *BOOM*, you're now in Passive Mode).

 

Anyway, I'll have to curb my habit of the above two.

Furthermore, there is a new feature that protects you from griefers if killed three times in a short period of time I believe, but that protection (ghosting mode) only lasts for 2 minutes, to let you escape the attacks. -Not exactly the same thing I was describing initially.

once you have played this game for houndreds of hours, you realize that killing eachother is the main purpose of the game, R* want us killing eachother, hence why there are no friendly lobby option.
