I don't know what happened to this but a few weeks back there was talks of doing an actual proper Dark theme for the tool to go with the Light theme (and maybe the Blue kept as Default Theme), but here's what it looked like:

Welcome back to the forums, ASH! Thank you for contributing your ideas during development _and_ the release lifetime.

Need to keep track of ideas and collecting them in this thread is really helpful. As of now, Magic.TXD is still undergoing refactoring of core modules, but this reply is solely meant to express my gratitude to you guys. ^^

I would suggest adding support for batch .txd building havesting textures from a folder (recusive) reading the texture list from the dff's

I have added support for this in KGM. but I do not support all texture formats yet in KGM with compression levels.

I have problem with this tool. The 'mass' options don't work, nothing happens when I use them.

When I use right click>build txd it works tho.

@The_GTA & DK22Pac, perhaps this tool only runs on 64bits window? Mine is 32bits and I can't run it, it says "...is not a valid win32 application".

*and more: may you update again your tool installer to allow us be able to install even in case we have no internet connection? It's very annoying that I've got all required components already installed but the installer still prompts me "no internet connection" to itself download the required components, and so that if no internet connected I can't finish the installation. Even in case within internet conn. it's still not necessary to install the comp. because I can get them manually on Google.

If you want to offline-install Magic.TXD on Windows 7 and above, please download the Visual Studio 2015 runtime for either x86 or x64, according to your system architecture... 32bit or 64bit, and install it. Then install Magic.TXD.

Doing this should skip the part about downloading the runtime library :)

Thank you for your feedback! The installation process is bonkers. We are aware that it could be improved by switching to a better installation engine.

P.S. If you want more detailed solutions specifically for your problem-case feel free to post images about error messages next time.

=======

Experiencing trouble with Magic.TXD on 32bit Windows 7 and above? Here is RC6.5 which is functionally equivalent to RC6.6 but is known to have less problems!

O_o

Unless you're on a pre-2005'ish hardware there is literally no reason to use XP.

I know, but i've not still got a new pc for now, the current one is very weak.
So is this error happens on any os: i can't run the magictxd on winxp 32bit?

*EDIT: sorry, I forgot to tell this: also the RC6.5 too can't run on winxp 32bit.

More to add;

I would also suggest adding mass compression (all entires get dtx compression) maybe add what dtx compression 1-5 else where.

This is a really nice tool. but it's annoying when you still have to use other tools to get the job done other then selecting each entry to compress them one by one.

I might sound lazy but this takes time when your working on a lot of txds with 20 give or take entries.

Sorry for bump, but won't there be any support for gta3.img ? I can't open it.

Btw, better then creating a topic with the same subject. Almost forgot to mention.

Or are I'm doing anything wrong?

It's supposed to open only TXD files instead of a whole IMG archive. For IMG archives use IMG Factory.

TXD Workshop had .img support :p.

I know, but what users truly want is good working software. Even if it means relying on multiple tools like IMG Factory. It is actually a really nice software (X-Seti offered me a spot as dev but my hands are occupied).

Modloader for the win, btw. But we are talking vanilla modding, too. And modding on legacy systems like PS2.

a lil typo

Anyway, would you care to look at PSP/PS2 LCS/VCS textures? It's currently pain to edit them (it consumes too much time).

The_GTA: Something new about an upcoming update for MagicTXD or are you busy with some other stuff? Like the real black theme and/or fix the instant crash, since you said you changed something into the program.

Due to the recent work on TxdGen, which shares code with Magic.TXD, I have made the libraries under-the-hood Windows XP compatible. It is possible to ship a Magic.TXD installer for Windows XP. I am looking forward to look into that with DK22Pac in December.

There is a list of improvements to be implemented based on feedback, some of which are...

  • right click options in texture add dialog
  • F2 to rename a texture
  • multiple-texture processing by multi selection
About the "instant crash". I believe I have fixed an issue related to it. Edited by The_GTA

it had comandline options? and it would be even more useful than it is, if you could shrink textures en masse, exelent work.
