Weirdoutworld
OK. I was able to totally get rid of the render box in 3rd person view by tweeking settings in Nvidia Control Panel & in game. It was GONE! I was happy. No, thrilled! Then I had to go and update my graphics driver with DDU and now NCP is back to stock values and I just CANT get it back to that sweet spot... Even tho the box is probably letting my laptop run a little cooler/less stress. It sucks to look at and breaks immersion for me... Anybody have luck/teqneques with eliminating that dreaded render box??? I'm mad. Like it seriously put a damper on my day... lol
SilverRST
I know that. I once got rid of the dither of grass and distance and now they all come back. Why the f*ck can't R* fix this sh*t of bugged dither shadows, dither grass/distance and renderbox!
Weirdoutworld
It MAY be a side effect of the incredible optimisation this game has (esp with G-sync). And it's ability to play on very low end rigs... But it SHOULD be a setting to be switched on/off to help low end rigs run it at respectable frame rates... Now only the people with rigs powerful enough to max/near max it out are suffering. I would play at all "high" settings to get rid of this nuisance instead of ultra and have it... Btw, I played gtaV on my ps3 today for some quick action and WOW. Render-box is SOOO bad on PS3 and X360. SMDH
SilverRST
But the dither is all over the place, it's smeared all over our ugly faces! GTAIV had dither too but it was fixed and it had no performane decreased and this was on low-end laptop.
Spider-Vice
A lot of games have this dither, it's part of most renderers. The Witcher 3 at the highest settings also has it, along with some other recent games. But others don't, so I agree it should be an option connected with the Shadow Quality or a brand new option called Shadow Detail Distance. Weirdoutworld
It seems the "overall texture" setting (I can't remember what it's specifically called...) Set at performance or high performance makes it worse. So if set to quality (high quality gets rid of filters) and using high resolution shadows & Nvidia shadows it makes it bairly noticeable... Unfortunatly the driver was 362.00. I would NOT use it because it caused high CPU temperature and crashes. Im working at trying a LOT of different combinations of settings. If I come up with anything solid I will post results. FilipCRO
Suprix
I noticed that setting pre-rendered frames to 1 increases the number of glitches in the game (slow loading textures, etc). 1 uses less CPU but 2+ gives better graphics. Try that (?).

Render box is still here, when driving over grass it appears in front of you. "high resolution shadows " kill my framerate, and I have i5 4690k, 8 gb ram and GTX 970 OC`d
Weirdoutworld
The geforce GtaV graphics guide says the higher the grass setting is the further away it loads in front of you. Unfortunately I will not go above "high". I could probably handle very high OK. But I need to keep my temperatures as low as possable. The shadows are what bugs me... I still dont know how did you manage to completely remove the "render box" before. I think the shadows are just like that, they render in front of you, just like in Witcher 3. The thing that annoys me is grass rendering, even the cropped grass in Los Santos. I have grass quality set @ Very high and extended distance scaling @ max. It`s stil very noticeable! Weirdoutworld
It's possible I just didn't realize it because in the beginning I was focusing on all the textures and models. But once I saw it I will never un-see it. I DO know for a fact that when I updated the graphic driver it got noticeably worse. Even after re-tweeking NCP.
