AxER Posted February 18, 2003 Share Posted February 18, 2003 There may be spoilers in this topic for those of you who haven't gotten past the misson 'Driver'. After almost an hour of trying an retrying chasing that fat idiot Hilary around the show I finally managed to slam his fat ass down a thin allyway which truly screwed up his game. Royally infact. I then finished in a nervous panick as I screamed through the final check point. My hour or so of fuming frustration and swearing finally paid off. I was wondering, has beaten this the first time? Until I started Driver I was convinced Check point Charly was the hardest mission. The bank heist only took me three trys and that was only cause phil died twice. (first time he was shot second time the taxi exploded...why didn't he follow me and leap out?) So anyway, I'm delerious with joy and wondering if there is one or two people out there, who by some fluke or maybe even amazing driving skill managed to actually beat Hilary the very first time they ever attempted the mission. I reckon i'm much better at handbrake turns and power slides than the other aspects of the game. Thats probably why it took me loads of goes to complete the bank heist mission. Not like two days or anything, but maybe 15-20 minutes, not long at all. It really doesnt take alot of time to figure out hilary's weaknesses. The point? The point is on my second attempt at bank heist I did the same thing but I bumped into a women (these are the people who have their hands up by the way) and she said 'Can't we all be friends' and sounded exactley like the women from VCPR whos on with that Goth guy. Downside Posted February 18, 2003 Share Posted February 18, 2003 I tried it for about 5 goes and gave up so I went done other sh*t (other missions etc).When I came back to it I beat it first try.I just got an Infernus, parked it on the corner, changed cars and I somehow got lucky and took Hillary out and kept the lead.Didn't make any misakes either so that helped a bit too. Jackie Flannery Posted February 18, 2003 Share Posted February 18, 2003 It took me 3 goes to beat the driver... I know the sabre is fast but it can also be twitchy at high speed. Whereas the pile of dung I drive is slow but is also quite stable. I was able to handle the corners alot better than him and catch up (even though it seems AI drivers can withstand some insane G's when cornering !! When I drew level, I knocked him into a lampost - the ones which don't fall instantly. I barely managed to stay ahead - on every bit of straight I was using the rear view to stop him from passing. I think I would dodge a police car and bump into Hilary and he would send me spinning. I think he ran into a car the time I won so I had some room between him and me. Enable the slower game-play cheat (Press Triangle, Up, Right, Down, Square, R2, R1 during game play. A message will confirm correct code entry.) This cheat will give you better handling and reaction time because...of course...its all slow mo....this let me beat him the first time I used it. After using slow mo and you want to go back to normal enter the following:(Press Triangle, Up, Right, Down, L2, L1, Square during game play. A message will confirm correct code entry.)
