Yes but assuming you are referring to those who speedrun the game on PC, the majority of them use many exploits which in some cases means they don't even have to do specific missions and side missions that would otherwise take a while on their own whether that's through using the Replay Glitch to complete Firefighter in under a minute per island, skipping Taxi Driver through a specific exploit here posted by the current fastest 100% speedrunner, speeding up explosion rampages by using the replay feature to replay explosions or many of the other exploits they have found. Completing the game to 100% under 'normal' circumstances or on another platform to PC where such exploits do not exist such as Mobile which @ITZ_CHAFIKO is playing on, it would almost certainly not be possible to complete it in under 6 hours and especially not when collecting 13 Special Vehicles. I'd say that completing GTA III to 100% with 13 Special Vehicles in 15 hours without the use of any of the aforementioned exploits is quick.

Yeah, I don't get why speed running is looked at as being impressive. It's not. It's just a guy who is exploiting the game to the limit and achieving something through glitching to the extremes and using every trick in the book to do it. Most times, if ever (?) I don't see them reach 100%, either. They don't collect Special Vehicles. They cheat their way through everything...Speed running also has nothing to do with Special Vehicles...

@GTAKid667, you're quoting someone who doesn't do 100%, doesn't do Starter Saves. He's just into Special Vehicles and not the "whole package." I like doing it all and for ALL GTA's. Not just one or two, here and there.

Also at the end of the day, GTA III doesn't have a "Total Playing Time" Stat, nor does it have a Safehouse Visits Stat or Pay and Spray Visits Stat. So the only way you could find your Total Playing Time is looking at it under a Save Editor like thehambone's III Editor and check your Total Playing Time. But GTA III, like VC is so simple and short. Everyone should be doing these under 20 Hours, under 100 Safehouse Visits, etc, etc, once they get the experience. I am not saying this is easy on your first go, but I've been doing these things for a couple years now. I already told Bender. I go big or I don't go at all. I'd never start a playthrough if I didn't have the intentions to go to 100%. I wouldn't start a playthrough unless I was going for max capacity and/or all Special Vehicles which exist in the game, obtained. I wouldn't start a playthrough unless I knew I would be doing it very fast, without speed running bullsh*t tricks. I go fast by normal means and all my Total Playing Time's for each GTA show that...It's no mystery of how I assemble a Save and I do it for 10 GTA's. When I know I can improve, I do. Now that the 3D Era is improved to the limit, it's time to improve my HD Saves since those suck at this point compared to what I did in 2014. Now, I can do better.

Anyways, back on topic. Speed running should never be mentioned in these Topics again. It was mentioned in the SA Topic quite a few times and told people to take it elsewhere, but it didn't exactly do anything. Guess I should of reported the Posts to be removed. I'll be sure to do that next time.

@CHAFIKO, some of the Rampages are sh*tty on III Mobile, but the Hidden Packages are the same old, same old. Nothing to it. Find it, collect it, continue. You can get 99/100 with ease and then using the Dodo for the final one on the SSV Lift Bridge...

Anyways, good luck. You should let us know when the Starter Save is finished so you can start discussion Special Vehicles in III, which the Topic is all about...

Isn't D-Ices Infernus EC? In the mission where you have to go and defuse it... It's metallic blue...

EDIT: I'm an f*cking idiot.

I tried to do the side mission "A ride in the Park", and I failed, cause the Landstalker is the most horrible off-road vehicle I've ever seen. So I failed the mission, and when I was going to load my save, I accidentally DELETED it. So my only option was to press "Resume" and continue.

So now, my "new" save has a failed mission attempt.

All I did trying NOT to get any failed mission attempts was for nothing...

Sigh...

No. That Infernus during Rigged to Blow is only PC (Permanent Color) and L (Locked), both properties of which won't save in the Garages. Again, everything in III has been found for a long time now...The newest thing is the Unique RC Bandit which was made note of last year in 2015, but it's bad to get since you can't use Weapons once you get it without the game crashing, so it's not very good to get...

Too quick with the fingers. Don't be in such a hurry next time, I guess. Or try making a backup of your Save. I never f*ck around. I always have a backup just in case. I never hit DELETE Save, however, I did accidentally hit "Retry Mission," though, which of course wasn't something I wanted to do, thus I reloaded, but only lost progress of one Mission, which I simply just redid. Simple.

Personally, I'd start over. But then again, you'll probably have massive problems with Paramedics and Gripped! if you do, so it's your choice. I'd start over, though, since the Save won't be good with added Attempts for no reasons...

I'll think I'll continue, I've spend to much time with the side missions anyway, I can't just start over and let all my work go to waste...

And I was almost done with my save when that happened! I only needed to do the Import/Export missions and I would be done...

Oh well, it's just one attempt, I'll continue with my work. But maybe in the future, I will create another starter save that is much better, and much faster than the one I'm currently working on.

And I don't want to think about the hell called "Vigilant".

Back on topic:

Why did you choose the BP/EP Securicar over the EC/EP one?

Isn't it much better to get the EC variant? Cause you already have a ton of BP cars, inferior or not.

Nah, the EP/EC Securicar wouldn't work. If you look at the Guide, the 13 I have come up BEFORE the EP/EC Securicar. By the time it comes up, I already have all my Garages full. If I leave one Vehicle out, so only have 12, I could technically "get it," but it would be hard since you need to push a Securicar wreck into a FULL Garage. It's impossible, basically. I am not sure how it's even possible to get if you have 6 in SSV already, 5 or 6 in SI already, and 1 in Portland. When you get near the Garage, it won't open since it's full...

Plus, the EC Securicar that comes from Decoy, the Mission right after Escort Service, you can get an EC Securicar that is exactly like the one in Escort Service, but it's not EP. Not to mention, you can pass to get the one from Decoy. In an old Save where I got all 13 on PS2, I had the EC Securicar already. But having 2 Securicars in the Save makes things way too cluttered and stuffed. Here was my old Save from late 2014, early 2015:

image_64289.jpg

image_64288.jpg

image_64287.jpg

I just don't care about the EP/EC Securicar or EC Securicar. These are useless to me. It would be different if you can make it DP with the Crusher, but you can't. Thus, all the other Special Vehicles I have are better than those Securicars. I only care for the BP/FP Securicar...

The only reason I was able to get this EC Securicar is cuz I skipped the EC Cheetah. Dumb cuz EC Cheetah can be DP/EC. EC Securicar can't be DP/EC or DP/EP/EC...

I've done GTA III 8 times, and I've done it from 0% at least 5 of those times. It doesn't take long and it's not hard. If I did what you did, I would delete it and start over. III takes less than a week to finish...

Damn, that sucks. Not as bad as me though. I was almost done with all side sh*t on Portland and was ready to move to Staunton when one of the mods I used made my game glitch and III is a strange game so even removing the mod didn't fix it. Basically, what happened was the game was only loading up Portland and Staunton and SSV would stay in their LOD (non-solid) forms, making it impossible to travel there. From then on, I removed the clutter of mods except controller support and SilentPatch and it's been fine for me. But it was a bitch to start over because I f*cking hate paramedic and taxis missions. So f*cking tedious.

I don't know about you, but for me, it takes a LONG time getting a starter save, yesterday I've waisted my ENTIRE DAY getting the 100 hidden packages and the 20 rampages... I'm really slow when it comes to collecting stuff...

Also, I just want to get the special vehicles and finish the game 100%, i WILL do another gameplay from 0% to 100%, but not now... I just want to finish III so I can start with the most time consuming of them all... LCS. (And VCS, but it's not too bad compared to LCS)

Just a tip though, you should save on 3 save files and alternating between saving on them. So that way, if you f*ck up and delete one, you have another back up. That's what I did when I was 100% III, VC and SA.

It takes me about 90 minutes to do the 100 Hidden Packages, probably a couple hours for the Rampages since I usually fail some of them a few times before passing, but I always reload, of course, since in GTA III if you fail a Rampage, the Icon is moved to another location...

I usually don't "like" what is being done in a Starter Save, but it doesn't take that long. From 0 to 100%, Minimum Stats, and all 13 Special Vehicles took me 4 days whereas VC from 0 to 100%, Minimum Stats, and all 27 Special Vehicles takes me 5 days. SA and VCS are a lot longer, and LCS is similar to III and VC - QUICK! III, VC, and LCS take less than a week to finish each, as does VCS. It takes about 1 week exactly. SA takes a couple weeks, about 15 days...

I have a Save in LCS that is 18:20 or so...114 Attempts. I don't see why you'd think this one takes long. There is like 3x the amount of Side Missions in VCS, along with Empire Sites with Side Missions, etc, etc. Even with a 49.20% Starter Save in VCS, it still takes me 5-7 days. But with the 48% Starter Save in LCS, it takes me 3 days...LCS is simple and quick like III and VC.

That's what happened to me. I always wanted to rush into the Story and Special Vehicles, thus, made having a Starter Save mandatory. It wasn't an option to NOT have one. Doing III 8 times, doing VC 7 times, doing SA 9 times, doing LCS 14 times, and doing VCS 6 times, I NEED that Starter Save so I don't need to keep f*cking around with boring, mundane bullsh*t tasks. I rather have them all done in the beginning and never think of it again. Hidden Packages? What's that? Oh yeah, something I NEVER have to think about again since I have 100 Hidden Packages done in my III Starter Saves, 100 Hidden Packages done in my VC Starter Saves, 250 Collectibles done in my SA Starter Save, 97/100 Hidden Packages done in my LCS Starter Saves, and 99 Red Balloons done in my VCS Starter Save. Rampages? Stunt Jumps? All that sh*t is done with. Paramedics? Taxi Fares? Yeah, never again do I need to even consider these Missions. It's like this stuff isn't even apart of the game anymore...

That is enough. But it should say 9 Attempts. 9 Passed. I know you f*cked up, but I thought you were starting over lol...

Yeah, there is a similar looking colored Kuruma, but it's not the same at all. EC isn't made up. You can see this stuff in the game's code. The Kuruma from Give Me Liberty certainly is special and nothing like the one found on the streets or parked. The Colors are similar but certainly NOT the same...

For the Turismo mission, do you really NEED a DP MR.Whopee? Can't you just get a normal one?

Someone by the name of stef_92 said he got it on Mobile with passing Turismo and did NOT even make the Mr. Wongs converted to DP, however, he was the only one to share such information. Everyone else, including myself, used a DP Mr. Wongs...It's probably not absolutely necessary, but you'd be wasting a lot of time and making it harder on yourself if it's not DP...

I've already wasted my chance getting it DP.

Btw, this is going really quick, I already have 3 special cars (BP/FP Securicar, EC Kuruma and Unique Manana from "Dead Skunk In The Trunk").

Also, I think I'll swap my BP/EP Securicar for the EC one...

It should go quick...It's GTA III...

My average is getting 5 Special Vehicles a day...Like, I can get BP/FP Securicar, Unique Corpse Manana, AP Cheetah, AP/EC Stretch and BP/FP Trashmaster all in the same session and be in Staunton Island ready for the DP/EC Rumpo on day 2. By the end of day 2, I have them all but the Patriot and to finish to 100%, basically...

BP/FP Securicar > EP/EC Securicar

BP/FP Securicar > EC Securicar

You can obtain what you want, but it makes absolutely no sense to get rid of the BP/FP Securicar just to get a useless, inferior EC Securicar. Plus, both of them fit in SSV. I already posted Photos...

If I got both, then it would mean I need to get rid of ANOTHER car, and I don't want that.

Also, for the Mr.Wongs do I need to smash the passenger door in order to make Claude get in the car before it gets out of his reach? Cause I've tried without destroying the doors and that don't seem to work, Claude will not be able to open the door since it's too high up.

Why would you need to get rid of Vehicles? The goal is 13. Not 12...

Yeah, Mr. Wongs is like the Barracks OL. Only works to make these DP if the door is removed to get back in quicker...

Gets both Securicars = 14 vehicles

Garage can only handle 13 vehicles

Therefore I will need to get ride of a vehicle I was planning to get so I can store the EC Securicar.

But those 13 are all better than an EC Securicar in which can't be made into DP. Try and drive it around the Map, a few collisions, it'll catch fire. A few bullets from the Colombians or Leones; it's on fire and blowing up. All Securicars are useless as are Trashmasters since they break down so quickly from a few crashes compared to other Vehicles. An Infernus is like this, too. It seems to catch fire a lot quicker than a Stinger or Cheetah for instance.

Most people who get both Securicar's skip the AP Cheetah since Turismo can be done even after 100% as the Pay Phone Icon never disappears, however, doing it then will cost a Mission Attempt. You already messed up once, so if you do it like that, you'll have +2 when you didn't need those extra 2 Attempts...

Yes! I finally got the BP/FP/EP Cheetah! :D

But damn, I had to reload a lot of times because the cheetah would always drive past me without me having some time to flip it over, and the sh*tty analog didn't make things easier... Also, those f*cking flatbeds, coach, fishvans, thieves and the cops sure made this task a whole lot more difficult that what it should've have been.

On PS2, using the Analog is much more responsive, but yeah, that happened to me on Mobile as well. The Cheetahs would always drive around Mr. Wongs and the sh*tty Mobile Controls just can't get the job done very well. When a Cheetah drives around you, technically on PS2, you could hit R2 and L2 and quickly look back and keep a Cheetah in sight and try and ram it. I did that once on PS2. It was actually when I first obtained it, I did it like that. But on Mobile, trying to look back and turn the Mr. Wongs around was next to impossible due to the garbage Controls...

Yeah, you wait at the finish line and then a whole bunch of large Trucks get into a traffic jam and block you. It's really annoying. I also was once sitting there with the DP Mr. Wongs at the finish line and a Car Thief jacked it...Of course had to reload and do it again. It took like 4 tries on Mobile and 1st try on PS2, both times at that...

Is it 100% safe to use the paint spray if you want to change the color of a vehicle and still keep the properties? I want to change the color of my Cheetah since it will become quite annoying to have TWO special cheetahs with almost the same color.

But I am a million percent sure it doesn't remove the properties. Even going into a Mod Garage in SA with a Proof Vehicle doesn't even remove the properties...Pay and Spray is even more minor than that...

So yeah, you're paranoid over nothing... :D:p

Modshops only remove the properties on PS2 V1, or atleast that's what you told me.

I said that only cuz it's what I read on System Error Guide on Gamefaqs or perhaps somewhere else. However, I never tried it myself. I never think about it when I load up my game to mess around, but it's easy to check. I just gotta remember to check it when I load the game. But for every other Platform and Version, those don't remove the Properties. And if that's the case, then certainly no Pay and Spray is going to remove them.

Hell, there is some Vehicles in LCS like the Heavy Vehicles from 9MM Mayhem/Scooter Shooter that you will NOT get back to a Garage and store it without it catching fire and blowing up. In all of jam8tone's Videos showing those Vehicles, once Toni is sitting inside of it, he IMMEDIATELY goes to a Pay and Spray since the Vehicle will more times than not be smoking badly and a bump or two will set it on fire. Meanwhile, it took an hour or longer to get lucky to get said Heavy Vehicle from 9MM Mayhem/Scooter Shooter. If you were paranoid over the Pay and Spray, then these probably wouldn't ever be fully obtained. He takes it into a Pay and Spray...Still Heavy afterwards. Pay and Spray is safe. If CHAFIKO wants to be paranoid then he can, but it's a fact those don't remove properties. The only remove paintjobs unless the Vehicle is PC, which only exists in LCS/VCS and is savable anyways...
