GTA III Special Vehicle Guide

Regarding turning emergency vehicle DP (at least ones that have vigilante), you can start only taxi driver by releasing R3 just before Claude gets in emegrency vehicle fully. If you release it too early, taxi driver is cancelled, if you release it too late, either taxi driver or vigilante (depending on parity of number of savegame loads) will be duped.

Yeah, exactly. I never knew exactly "why" this happens, but I guess you explained it. There HAS been times I did NOT have Taxi and Vigilante running at the same time, but other times I did. When I did, I reloaded. I only tried this a few times as it never really interested me to make any Emergency Vehicles DP other than a Barracks OL and a Taxi. But if I really wanted to, I could make an EC FBI Car converted to DP. Or any other Emergency Vehicle for that matter. It's just I don't see any real reason to bother...

Ok, I started my GTA III Mobile Save over again. Currently 61% Completion, 0 Deaths/Busted/Cheats, 2 Missions Failed (BP/FP Securicar and Unique Corpse Manana), and 3 out of 13 Special Vehicles. Up next is the AP Cheetah. I will get it with passing the Mission which I never done yet on MOBILE, but since I did it on PS2 twice now, it shouldn't be that much of a problem. I am just worried about making the Mr. Wongs DP. That is what will make or break this. If I can make that DP using "The Getaway" with a Mission Scripted Passenger and save it in the Garage while passing The Getaway, then I surely will get it no problem. It's the next Special Vehicle and I can't move on until I get it. In a Mission or two, the Triads hate Claude, so I need to get it now...

EDIT: Ok, I got the AP Cheetah with passing on Mobile. Was able to use "The Getaway" and make the Mr. Wongs converted to DP and then pass The Getaway at the same time. Took about 4-5 tries to get the Cheetah! It's official, this Mobile Save will be better than last time! :D:p

That's how it was for me too: took about 4-5 (maybe 6) tries to actually hit the Cheetah and make it flip over. Lots of other times the guy would do a ninja swerve around my not-so-agile Mr Wongs and drive off behind me, only to disappear seconds later. One of the times I got it to the garage, but pushed it in too slowly, so the garage door closed on top of it and the Cheetah disappeared lol.

I blame Mobile Controls! The Cheetah would swerve out of my way and using the sh*tty non existent Analog, I couldn't turn in time, thus it got away and despawned, since Mobile sucks with Camera Control. You can just click R2 and L2 like on PS2 and see behind you. You need to press and hold the screen, which f*cks up your other fingers to do other tasks. I hate Mobile, yet, I can do anything on it. It just takes a bit more attempts than on PS2. I've gotten it first time doing Turismo on PS2, hit the Cheetah, pushed it back to the Garage. I did this twice at that. But on Mobile, it got away from me 5-6 times and then FINALLY I rammed it, it didn't flip over, but the Cheetah stopped and the driver rolled out, then I slowly pushed it back to the Garage. It was easy, I just hated having to reload and do Turismo over due to not ramming a Cheetah. Then retard Peds would walk in the street at the finish line. Coaches, Flatbeds, Mules, Yankees, Bus', all these big f*ckers would block me from going into the finish line and ramming a Cheetah, too. Oh well, I got it and it only took like 20 minutes or so to obtain ONCE I was able to get the ability to push it back to the Garage. It's not like I f*ck up pushing it back. That's the easy part. The hard part is getting a Cheetah to stop so you CAN push it back...

And I just finished my 8th GTA III Playthrough in total. 6 on PS2 and 2 on iOS. This iOS Save is now better than my first one I did where I had 79 Attempts and did NOT convert the BP Barracks OL into BP/DP, but this time I have 78 Attempts instead of 79 and I also have ALL Vehicles converted to DP besides the Unique Corpse Manana, BP/FP Securicar, and BP/FP Trashmaster:

My PS2 Save is much faster. My PS2 Save has 61 Days Passed in Game but this Mobile Save has 74 Days Passed in Game...No worries, though, just pointing out that I went way quicker on PS2 as always, since that is my main Platform and only use Mobile for fun on the side.

Btw, I am not sure if it's just me, or an iOS thing, or my Version of III Mobile, but Car Thieves don't work anymore to make DP Vehicles. I had to JUST use Mission Scripted Passengers this time around. I converted the Cheetah to AP using Triads and Tribulations. I converted the Barracks OL and the Rumpo using Kanbu Bust Out. I converted the 3 Sports Cars and Bobcat during Deal Steal. I converted the Patriot using Rumble. The Kuruma was converted to DP in my Starter Save using Luigi's Girls. All in all, very annoying to do this Save since I had to rely on using Missions only and passing them while converting a bunch of Vehicles. I couldn't use Thieves in free roam like I wanted to, similar to that of using the Taxi Trick on PS2, PC, Xbox, etc to get a passenger and make DP Vehicles in free roam.

So... Just started playing GTA3... This is going to be fun!

So, if I'm right, the garage in Portland can only hold 1 vehicle, the one in Staunton 6 vehicles and the one in Shoreside Vale 6 vehicles?

Also, what's the best vehicles to get? Cause you can't get them all...

Also, is it good to do a starter save or it's better to just play the game ordinary?

Yeah, 1 + 6 + 6 = 13. All you need is the 13 I have. Those are the best. Other than those 13, the EP/EC Securicar is nice, but it's not really needed since it costs another Mission Failure/Attempt and it's also inferior, imo, compared to the BP/FP Securicar. GTA III is dangerous compared to the rest of the GTA's that follow, so having any BP Vehicle is a big help. You can convert almost any Vehicle to DP, as well. For instance, there is a BP/EP/FP Cheetah and BP/EP/FP Bobcat. You can add DP to these and now they become AP, just like the AP/EC Black Stretch. You can get the EC Vehicles and make them DP/EC, etc, etc. Securicars and Trashmasters can't be converted to DP so that is why you don't see mine converted. If they could be converted, I would do it, but they don't work...

If you look at the Special Vehicles, there is some inferior ones, like the EC Black Stretch. Useless when you have an AP/EC Black Stretch. EC Securicar. Useless when you can get an EP/EC Securicar. Or the EC FBI Car. Useless and it can be obtained after 100% just like NE Vehicles can be obtained. I'd just go for the main, best 13 while having 78 Attempts as the lowest...

I have Starter Saves for III, VC, SA, LCS, and VCS on PS2 and I have Starter Saves for III, VC, and LCS on iOS. I'd never consider doing a GTA "normally." The only way is doing a Starter Save at this point. I play GTA too frequently to need to worry about the worst part and most boring part of the game, so I like to have it all done with and do a Starter Save. In III, you can get 53% right after passing Luigi's Girls before any other Story Mission.

Good luck on converting Vehicles to DP on Mobile, though. You can ONLY use Mission Passengers now since Car Thieves don't work anymore on iOS and I know you are playing iOS like I am. I had to use Mission Passengers Only for this Save, but I was able to convert everything including the Mr. Wongs to DP and use it to obtain the AP Cheetah...

Mission passengers? You mean the ones that you have to drive with on missions?

Oh come on!

Yeah, those. That's the only way making DP Vehicles works on iOS, apparently. The Taxi Trick doesn't exist for Android/iOS, thus you can't use it to make DP Vehicles with ease and instead, you need to use certain Missions where you have a passenger in the front seat to make a Vehicle DP and then pass the Mission once you are done converting the Vehicle to DP.

Like I said, I made some notes above at which Missions you can use to make DP Vehicles. There isn't many, and that is why III Mobile is quite tricky due to the circumstances...

Milita, I think you've missed a VERY important vehicle... The Ghost boat....

Unique Ghost is unobtainable. Just like the Unique Escape Helicopter. If you store Ghost in a Garage, it crashes the game. I also don't have the Unique RC Bandit in the Guide, either, since it was said to cause the game to crash when you fire a weapon. Ghost is unobtainable on ALL Platforms. You can only temporarily obtain it since it crashes the game. You can drive it around after passing the Mission, but that's as far as you can get with it. Saving it isn't possible:

I know my Special Vehicles, man. I don't "miss" anything. Everything that people need to know is in each of my Guides. If something is not there, there is a reason. In the case of the Ghost, it's because it's unobtainable. Unobtainable Vehicles isn't something I add to the Guide. If it was obtainable, it would already be here...

If the Ghost was obtainable, would you get it? If you would get it, what vehicles would you take away?

Also, I'll try to get the Ghost boat, you know... Just to make sure if the game will crash or not... We can always hope...

Obviously Ghost would be on list of vehicles to garage since its Unique Model not seen in any other location/mission in entire game.

If I could get the Unique Ghost and Unique RC Bandit, I would easily get them simply in a 2nd Save File. I never got the EP/EC Securicar, either, or the EC FBI Car. If the Ghost and RC Bandit would be included in all of this, a 2nd Save File would be worth my time, but these can't be obtained unless you don't want your game to work properly anymore, so there is no point. Ghost has been known for years. If someone could obtain it permanently, I am sure we would know already. That Matt guy in the Video DOES obtain it, but on PS2 and you see. The Garage is about to open and renew the Boat, game crashes. It just freezes. Same sh*t happens on PC. Mobile is a PC Port. Same sh*t will happen on Mobile more than likely, as well. The only difference is the appearance of the Unique Ghost between Platforms, but it will crash the game on ALL Platforms...Just like the Unique RC Bandit will also crash the game once you fire a Weapon. RC Bandit isn't solid when you obtain it, either...

How am I supposed to do the import/export missions? It says that you'll need a Rnino tank! And I don't want to get my ass beaten up by some militaries over and over again while trying to steal one!

A Rhino will spawn at Phil Cassidy's place once the final mission of the game has been completed and you can take it from there straight to the Import/Export Crane or you can try and obtain it from a 6 Star Wanted Level as you said. You can't obtain this at the beginning of the game as you can only receive a maximum of 4 Wanted Stars.

Yeah, the Tank is easy to get either from Arms Shortage together with the BP Barracks OL and pass the Mission OR you can just wait until you're 95% Completion and have everything done with the EV Crane except the Tank and at that time, just go to SI to the Army Base and take the Tank. Doors will be unlocked and can take it to the EV Crane for the remaining ~5% of the game completion and then drive to whatever Safehouse you like saving at and that's it. Bringing the Tank is usually the last thing I do and what gives me 100%. I do The Exchange but only have 95% and the Tank for the EV Crane is what gives me 100%.

Plus, GTA III gives you Police Bribes at the Safehouse when you complete the Vigilante Missions. It's not very difficult standing at the Safehouse and causing mayhem to bring up the Wanted Level. When you see a Tank, FBI Car, whatever you need, you just walk/run/drive into the Police Bribes to lose the Wanted Level and then steal the Tank or FBI Car. When you steal it, you don't get 5 or 6 stars again. Just a 1 star wanted level as you drive away from the FBI and Military with ease. They won't shoot you with a 1 star wanted level...

F*CK THOSE VIGILANT MISSIONS, I'VE FAILED THEM 7 F*CKING TIMES NOW AND ALL OF THOSE TIMES, I WAS LVL 9 OR HIGHER.

Btw, does my save count as a starter save when I've done a mission before finishing it?

Vigilante? You mean Paramedics Level 12? In GTA III, Vigilante and Firefighter are not the same as VC, SA, LCS, or VCS. There is no Level 12 in GTA III, only Paramedics. Yeah, if you never played III before than Paramedics Level 12 can be difficult. It's one of the harder challenges in GTA III, especially for someone new at it. I remember back in 2004 thinking it was the hardest Mission at the time ever to exist and it still holds a lot of ground today and gives a lot of people trouble...

You do Give Me Liberty and Luigi's Girls. Do NOT do "Don't Spank Ma Bitch Up." Only Give Me Liberty/Luigi's Girls being done are considered a Starter Save in III...

I've done "Don't Spank My Bitch Up" by mistake, the thing is I was trying to get all 99 hidden packages (you can't get 100 before you unlock Shoreside Vale) and then while going at full speed, I accidentally crashed my car inside the alleyway with the marker, and my car was burning... So I only had one choice...

+1 to Mission Attempts for failing Give Me Liberty :miranda: Minimum is 78. Already have it on PS2. Already have it on iOS. If I'd skip Give Me Liberty and fail the Mission, I would have 79. Not worth it and it never will be worth it just to see Claude in the Prison Outfit...

@CHAFIKO, Uh, you sure? Why do I have all 100/100 Hidden Packages in my Starter Save on PS2 and iOS, then? You can get the one on the SSV Lift Bridge if you know how to use the Dodo...Just like you can get the Dodo for Import/Export if you know how to get it back to Portland...

I did all of this in March, several months ago. I knew it could be done, but never did it myself until March 2016, despite having the rest of the Starter Save done since Summer 2015.

I actually found an easy way to get the Hidden Package. All you do is drive the Dodo to the main road in Shoreside Vale that connects to the Lift Bridge. Just speed the Dodo on the road and pop it up when you get near the Bridge. It lands perfectly on the Bridge and you can position it to get the Hidden Package easily...Don't even need to fly the Dodo longer than 1 to 2 seconds, literally...

But yeah, I suggest researching more about III cuz it sounds like you have a lot to learn before starting...

Good idea. Only do Give Me Liberty, Luigi's Girls, and get the EC Kuruma and make it DP/EC. Store it in the SSV Garage...

Once that is done, you're ready for R3 Missions, Hidden Packages, Rampages, Stunt Jumps, Off-Road Missions, RC Missions, Import/Export, etc, etc...

GTA III takes all of 4 days from 0 to 100%, depending on how motivated you are. On Mobile, it only took me 5 days and I played like 2-3 hours a day at most...

So you're telling me you finished the game in around 15 hours?

Just done with the Firefighter missions, tommorow I'll see if I can do the paramedic and the hidden packages + rampages... Those three side missions are the worst...

EDIT: Finally DONE with the paramedic missions! It was PURE HELL, one time I was really nervous since it was the 12th lvl, and ended up failing it cause some inpatient driver drove on the sidewalk killing the per, I got so pissed that I ended up throwing my iPad to the wall... Thank god it only got a small scratch on the screen....

Oh well, I stayed all night trying to finish the mission, now it's 5am and I can finally get some sleep...
