Welcome to Build Up Your Gang: DYOM Edition, the famous game created solely for the gangs of San Andreas state. The game is simple: pick a gang and make missions about them; you get graded and paid for each mission, the money can be used to buy guns, vehicles, locations, rackets and businesses and drugs. All of these can be used to make your missions more interesting; more interesting missions means more money. Do you have what it takes to build up your gang?

As I, Pledge of Chaos, am a big fan of the GTA games and of Design Your Own Mission, you can expect to see many updates. However these kind hearted fans also contribute to the game, the BUYSAG Contributors consist of:

Rules1. Read all rules carefully before enlisting into a gang.2. Test your work and make sure it works normally.3. Don't post half finished missions or missions with half a plot; make sure it has a beginning, middle and end.4. Flaming: if you flame anyone, your character and missions will go up in flames with you, and you receive permanent banning from the game as well. Also, no non-BUYSAG-related talk, you can discuss ideas, threads and plans for future BUYSAG stories.5. No double posting; if you have something else to say, re-edit your post.6. If a rater is involved in a gang war, he is not allowed to rate his opponent's missions.7. Going off-topic one time will result in a warning. Going off-topic for a second time will result in a temp-ban (decided by the BUYSAG Contributor). Going off-topic for a third time will result in a permanent ban.8. No game mods allowed.9. Gang-hopping constantly will result in a temp-ban (duration decided by the BUYSAG Contributor) until you decide which gang you really want to join.[/table]

Guidelines1. Each gangs start on a step of equality: $500, two weapons, two vehicles and ten members.2. You may not use any weapons, vehicles, or other gang trades which you have not purchased; if you want to sell anything your gang owns you will receive half the price you purchased it for.3. The BUYSAG staff will PM you if you have been inactive for a significant amount of time asking for you to post in the topic within the week; if you do not, then you will be wiped from the tables.4. If you decide that you want to switch gangs, then your mission count so far is bracketed. Each new mission you design is added to the bracketed number, as well as starting afresh with an unbracketed number. The bracketed number is used for multiple of five bonuses. The unbracketed number is used for other rewards, such as weapons and vehicles.5. If you wish to expand, then you have two different ways to do so. If you wish to buy a new property for your gang which is gangless, then you must pay $6 000 (if it is in the same named area) or $12 000 (if it is in a different named area). If you wish to buy a new property for your gang which is already owned by another gang, then you must pay $3 000 to that gang (if it is in the same named area) or $6 000 to that gang (if it is in a different named area). The only exception is the Saint Mark's Bistro in Liberty City: to buy it, it will cost $24 000.6. Buying a vehicle or a weapon doesn't mean your whole gang has it. Buying it once will only give you one. If you want another one, buy a second one. If you want your ten members to have a M4, then you must buy it ten times. The same for vehicles: if you want your ten members to have their own Sanchez, buy one ten times.7. You must show respect to the gang leader and to the higher ups of the gang8. All stories must take place in the same year: 1993.9. Your first mission is obligated to be an introduction. No buyings drugs or gang wars.10. If your mission hasn't be rated within a week, you will receive maximum gain of members and money allowed by your gang level.11. You are not allowed to kill a main (major / important) character from another designer's story, unless you have permission to do so from the designer in question.[/table]

An unknown corporation has bought Ammu-Nation and has decided to limit the weapon resupply once a year. The cost to buy a weapon and the quantity available to be sold during a year have changed drastically.


You are now allowed to loan weapons. By paying the price listed, you can loan as much as remains of the weapon you paid for you want. The loan duration will last eight missions. Multiple people can loan the same type of weapon, it doesn't matter.

Rackets, Assets & BusinessesRackets, Assets, and Businesses are a great way to earn your gang large sums of money. Rackets are the illegal way to earn cash while Businesses are more or less the formal and legal way to earn cash. However, they all go to the gang's cause and there is a 5 in 10 (5/10) chance that they can be attacked by the police or a rival gang (each weeks). Starting gang level 2, the chances go down by one to 1 chance in 10 at gang level 5.

How to work rackets and businesses and assets is very simple, it only requires two things: a building and an asset — the asset is the only income you receive as the buildings themselves generate no income. Each Racket/Business costs an initial fixed price. Upon purchasing a Racket/Business, you gain ten free Assets. Once you purchase a building and assets, they will be displayed in your gang's box.



All additional Assets cost one quarter of their racket or business's initial price and each assets generate incomes worth a 10th of the cost of purchase of an additional asset. So if you purchased a casino, it'd cost you $37 400 000, and you'd get 10 assets along with the purchase. This means that each week you'd earn $935 000. If you pay $9 350 000 for an additional asset, then the next week you'll earn $10 285 000, and so on. Only three rackets or businesses can be owned by a gang at one time.

As for the maximum number of assets per racket / business, it is the 10 default assets at gang level zero. it increase by ten each gang level, to a maximum of 60 assets per racket / business at gang level five.

Note: [about the 1/10 chance base bonus, the sample earned depends of Gang Level and Drug Reputation. The chances increase by 1 per Drug Reputation and 0.5 per Gang Level. The same concept applies for the increase of chances to gain other bonusses.]

Drug Rules & Regulations1. In order to obtain drugs, you need to design two missions: one describing how you bought them and another one describing how you sold them.2. Once the drugs are sold, the money from the Wholesale amount will be immediately added to the gangs bank.3. Do not abuse the drugs system! You are to respect the limitations from the Gang Level and Drug Reputation requirements.4. Operating in the drugs market requires influence and reputation carry on these trades. If you are unproven, people will refuse to trade with you. The 'Gang Level' requirement indicates at which level your gang can start dealing those drugs. The 'Drug Reputation' indicates your reputation level in trading a certain type of drug.5. Your 'Drug Reputation' starts by default at level 0 for all drugs. If you want to unlock a level 1 drug, buy and sell one level 0 drug. If you want to unlock a level 2 drug, buy and sell two level 1 drugs. If you want to unlock a level 3 drug, buy and sell three level 2 drugs. If you want to unlock a level 4 drug, buy and sell four level 3 drugs. If you want to unlock a level 5 drug, buy and sell five level 4 drugs. If you want to unlock a level 6 drug, buy and sell six level 5 drugs. If you want to unlock a level 7 drug, buy and sell seven level 6 drugs. If you want to raise your Drug Reputation for another drug, repeat the same process. Keep in mind you must also have the Gang Level required.6. You have to wait two days before dealing another 'DR' level 0 drug, four days for a 'DR' level 1 drug, six days for a 'DR' level 2 drug, eight days for a 'DR' level 3 drug, ten days for a 'DR' level 4 drug, twelve days for a 'DR' level 5 drug, fourteen days for a 'DR' level 6 drug and sixteen days for a 'DR' level 7 drug after dealing a drug of the same level.7. You are now allowed (v8.5) to deal multiple drugs in the same buy/sell deals. To deal an additional drug reputation 0 drug, you must pay an extra $100. It goes up to an extra $800 for a drug reputation 7 drug. As an example: $300 extra (three DR 1 drugs), $1 000 extra (two DR 5 drugs) and $800 (one DR 7 drug) means you will have to pay an extra $2 100 in your buying mission. Keep in mind you also have to pay the full price of the extra drugs. Also keep in mind restrictions from the drug dealing guideline above.[/table]

MembersMembers are the people from your gang you can use in your mission. At the beginning, there is only you and ten members. After each mission you design, your gang will grow and your members' number will grow too. The number of members you will gain after each mission will pedend of your rate. $0 will give you zero members. $10 will give you one member. $20 will give you two members. $30 will give you three members. $40 will give you four members. $50 will give you five members. $60 will give you six members. $70 will give you seven members. $80 will give you eight members. $90 will give you nine members. $100 will give you ten members.

The only way for you to loose members is: during a mission for the theme of the week (depending of what is the theme); a gang war; or any other event.[/table]

Ally/EnemyAn ally is another gang with which you are in good terms in your missions. To become an ally with a gang, both gangs must have a total of three missions in which they will collaborate (note: one player can have two friendly missions designed while the other one has only one and it will still make the gangs allies.) When the three missions are designed, both gangs can trade weapons or vehicles (non-permanant level awards.) They can even help the other one in financial terms too. Even in gang wars.

An enemy is another gang in which you are in bad terms in your missions. To become an enemy with a gang, both gangs must have a total of thee missions in which they will confront eachothers (note: one player can have one mission designed while the other one will have two missions and it will still make the gangs enemies.) When the three missions are designed, both gangs will be able to contest turfs of other gangs (gang wars.)[/table]

Gang WarsGang Wars are another way to earn extra cash. Explanations below:

vs Player:

-Can only be enabled if both gangs are enemies (Ally/Enemy feature).
-Both gangs must consent.
-One against one (not two against one).
-Three missions long (beginning, middle, ending).
-Wait of six days between each gang wars.

-Same gang level only.

-$10 000 for the winner OR a vehicle and a weapon of the loser's garage and armory.

-If tied, both end up with $5 000.

-Loss of members based on the total earnings of the other gang divided by ten (i.e. $300: 300/10= 30 members lost).

-Giving up results in an instant loss.

vs non-Player:

-Can only be enabled if both gangs are enemies (Ally/Enemy feature).

-Six missions long (beginning, in-between, middle, in-between, ending).

-Wait of twelve days between each gang wars.

-Same gang level only.

-$35 000 for the winner

-If tied, both end up with $17 500.

-The non-Player gang will be assigned six numbers by a random number generator (adding up these six numbers will give it its total earnings the Player gang has to beat to win the gang war). (i.e. $94 + $59 + $16 + $79 + $80 + $58 = $386 : the player has to beat $386 with his six missions).

-Loss of members only to the Player gang and based on total earnings of the other gang divided by ten (i.e. $396 / 10 = 40 (39.6 + 0.4 = 40) members lost).

-Giving up results in an instant loss.

Note that you can have a vs Player and a vs non-Player gang war at the same time.

Theme of the WeekThe theme of the week is another simple, but competitive, way to earn money. It usually consists of usual gang jobs such as confronting another gang, robbing a store, etc. for the simplest ones. It can even go to to robbing a bank or stealing something from a military base or have requirements to be respected.

The prices are usualy some cash, a weapon, a vehicle, or some drugs. Depending of the theme: either one person will win the price (the one who designed the best mission) or all those who designed a mission for it will win the price.[/table]

Non-Player Gang 'Help Fund'The Non-Player Gang 'Help Fund' (N-PGHF) is to make it fair for people joining a gang that has been under the non-player status for long enough.

Every week, $250 will be added to non-player gangs.

San Andreas Sports Leagues / v8.5

 

[table](May 22, 2016): a new season of sports is about to begin (June 1, 2016) and the State of San Andreas, the city of Liberty City, the city of Vice City and the city of Carcer City agreed to start a new league for their teams.

 

To start with how the league works, here are three main roles within all of them: the owners are the people who own a team (they gain the profits generated by the team which is determined by the tickets prices they set), the commissioners are the people in charge of the separate leagues (they use the funds as a proper commissioner and use it to improve the league (i.e. adding teams, chaging rules, etc.) or use the funds for their own profits, they also decide the rules of the league, etc.), the president is the person who oversees all leagues (he has a veto over decisions of the leagues).

 

To have the role of an owner, commissioner or president, there are many steps to follow. To become an owner, you must buy a team (the price is determined by its value). (Note that the value will change based on the teams' performances, fans' attendance and total money made during the season and the playoffs.) To become a commissioner, you must be a team owner for five seasons and pay the commissioner a leaving gift (150% of the league total funds). To become the president of all sports leagues, you must be a league commissioner for five seasons and pay the president a leaving gift (200% of the sports leagues funds). Note that in both later cases, the commissioner or president must be willing to be relieved of his functions.

 

How the money is made goes as follows: the teams make profits based on the ticket prices (season / playoffs) and how many fans go to the home games, the separate league funds increase by two ways (45% of the total value of the league's teams during the off-season and 20% of all tickets sold during a season/playoffs game from each teams), the overall league funds increase by 50% of all leagues' funds during the off-season.

 

Sports teams also mean betting. Bet opportunities will be given the day of the games.

General Scrotum

Simply put:

 

-Post which gang and which property you want (i.e. Orange Grove Families - The Johnson House);

-Design missions to earn money and 'members';

-You can use money to buy vehicles and weapons;

-If you own a vehicle or weapon, you only have it one time - you want it for a second character / design, buy it a second time (i.e. OGF only has one BMX for three possible designers and their thirty starting members - to start up);

-You can also use money to buy drugs (once a week) - read the rules regarding it;

-You can also use money to buy rackets / businesses - read the rules regarding it;

-Members are your non-playable allies / gang members from your gang you can use in your missions (i..e 10 members means only 10 ally members from your gang / 15 means you can have 15 allies from your gang / etc.)

-Members do not have much use, as of now - except being usable allies from your gang. They will hav more meaning in the future;

-The only way for your members number to decrease is after a Gang War or after a Theme of the Week penalty (or whatever);

-If you want to earn more money and members from each of your missions, level up your Gang Level;

-If you wish to make some more extra rewards, complete the Theme of the Week mission to earn yourself some more money, weapons, vehicles, or whatever the reward for the TotW is;

-If you feel like it, you can add other gangs as allies or enemies;

-An allied gang can help you out with trading weapons, vehicles, etc. (only after the requirement is met);

-The enemy gang status is required if you wish to have a gang war with that gang (read requirements);

-All stories must be set in 1993 (in case of crossovers, etc.);

-Your first mission has to be a classic intro (no buying drugs, etc. right from the start).

Well, i'm not good in games where i have to hold something stable with a balanced amount of resources and other things(like some city builder or medieval game). My gang would really plummet to hell if i had to take care of it in this style.

Ok, i read the whole topic and i can't wait to join. Also, i might join as a rater (seeing you need one or two) if i get enough familiar with the system of this game. I'll probably choose Leone Family Mafia or grove street families/ballas, will see.

It may look all complicated and stuff but it's quite simple. If you decide to play simply, you only need to worry about money (to buy vehicles, weapons, etc.)

 

Ok, i read the whole topic and i can't wait to join. Also, i might join as a rater (seeing you need one or two) if i get enough familiar with the system of this game. I'll probably choose Leone Family Mafia or grove street families/ballas, will see.

You can name your Mafia with whatever name you want. The name will remain 'Russian Mafia' in the gangs selection post though (because if somebody else joins the Russian Mafia at another property and wants to name it another name, there could be problems). :p

I'll need some time to figure this out. I'll see a couple of missions and maybe with the help of some other person as ally, build up the gang. It's that time and real life is an issue too.

edit: how would people use the crack factory if in DYOM it's always wrecked?

In this property's case, the whole courtyard comes with it - the property is not restricted to the blown up building only.

 

And then again, I'm sure people can improvise (objects, interiors, etc.).

nothing special as it's the first mission, thus it's best if it's just a cutscene-only intro.

so as i'm the first one to design in my gang, when another guy comes to some other faction of my gang, all sales have to be confirmed by me, right?

I'll wait this out a week and maybe get an ally.

Difficulty: Cutscene only - $0

Restrictions: Respected - $5 bonus

Length: 3:35'38 (decent length for a mission) - $7

Variety: 12 different 'things' (1 object and 11 different actors (may have miscounted the number of different actors but it still fits in that pay rate)) - $7

Writing: A Baseball Bat is not considered a gun; use of Spanish words which fits a Spanish gang such as the VLA; text coloring the names was good but text coloring their specialties maybe wasn't such a good idea; spelling mistakes such as 'i' instead of 'I' and some words missing; objective 37 and 38 repeating 'whole hood' - $14

Presentation: Nice camera placements; nice presentation of the characters; presenting them again (not that interesting) but with a little bit of backstory for each characters; unknown boss character; objective 37 and 38 repeating 'whole hood' - $19

 

Bender: Due to being the first member to design a mission for the Varrios Los Aztecas, you are now the ''leader'' and have final word on future purchases from your gang (be it yours or other members).

It's a thing i did. You could or could not do the same, but i just did that so i could slowly introduce people to the gang.
