Guest
The publisher Vivendi (who also owned the devs Radical Games) merged with Activision in 08 so I'd presume Activision now own the rights? Copcaller
NeonDolphin
Yeah, exctly - rights. All Activision games, using movie or brand rights are long gone from digital stores. Tony Hawk's, James Bond, TMNT, Spider-Man, Transformers. Scarface too. Sad but true. I wish they hadn't cancelled Xbox360 version. Jonesizzle
I still have my original xbox copy I've had for years. We've been through a lot but I'm ready to play it on my damn xbox one, too lazy to go to my sons room and play it on the 360... plus I don't think my 6 year old is ready for a coke raged tony montana. Cosmic Gypsy
My nephew was playing GTA at 6, one day he said something about running people over to a teacher so we had to tell him they were zombies, not people, which he believed for like a year or so. 6 year olds can't play games very well (thankfully) so they won't get the jist of the story line, they'll just aimlessly drive around and do ridiculous things. Come to think of it he may have been a bit younger than 6 haha, he's now 10 and spends his time playing Call of Duty, Fortnight and GTA 5. ROCKSTAR MANIC
You actually have to hustle to get that bread. I mean going to the island, the source, dodge pirates, Local DEA/Police. Get the waterfront storage warehouse, then distributing with enemies shooting you all at the same time. JayKed20
Since the game's soundtrack was anachronistic enough as it was anyway, why didn't put this in? It would've fit the game really. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_srvHOu75vM Edited July 10, 2018 by JayKed20

Gummy
I'm thinking about trying this game for the first time after seeing Scarface today, but which version should I get? I've heard the PC version is quite a hassle to get running unless someone could guide me to install patches and stuff. Should I attempt to emulate the PS2/Wii version? Which version is the most complete?

The Coconut Kid
I didn't know it existed but Scarface on the Wii sounds all kinds of fun. The closest you're going to get to a complete version is playing through the whole thing in a three piece suit with cocaine and cigars at hand. I have owned both the PS2 and Xbox versions and can't think of any difference between the two except stability. Never had any issues with the Xbox game on the original console or backwards compatible on the X360. On the PS2, the game crashed on me several times including after I just made five million grinding out small cocaine sales. You do not want this to happen to you because you will launch your controller through the window. I hope you manage to get it working and enjoy what was a very fun game. JayKed20
The paying off bounties system in Assassin's Creed Odyssey reminds me of the bribe system in this game, I wonder if Ubisoft copied it. The Coconut Kid
The bounties are cool, but what is even better is going around as Tony Montana and picking a fight with the other gangs when your gang heat is up high. The game actually gives you the option of intimidating them and lowering off your bounty without paying a cent, and Tony has some killer lines. Just make sure you don't mess it up, because if you do, they beat Tony up in an alleyway and piss on his body! Copcaller
Loved it made me feel like a criminal kingpin and great soundtrack too. Like how Tony has a conversation with each ped model even rival gangsters. Ridiculous how this game lets you store guns in trunks but gta doesn't plus gta 4 totally copied its wanted level system. I remember pissing off the cops they pulled me to an abandoned construction site beat me and stole my money. Ill be looking for an Xbox version Edited February 13, 2019 by Copcaller
Audi
Game still plays well after so many years imo. Asmodo
Played it religiously with friends when it came out. Loved it more than the PS2 GTA games. Effy in Chains
I want this on Xbox for my 360! Wish they would remake it for X1 & PS4, I would get the posh version of the new Xbox for it. JayKed20 and Claude4Catalina
BenMitchell90
I loved this game back in the day and played it like it was my job. Fun fact... I actually played this BEFORE really getting into the GTA series, believe it or not. Long story short, I got and played Vice City a bit when that came out, but my parents made me sell it because of its content. Yet when this game came out, I was able to get it and keep it, and well... that's because my dad was in the hospital battling cancer (don't worry, he's okay) and had much more important things on their mind, and got it for me to cheer me up. So I'll always have a soft spot for this game, for giving me some joy during a tough time. But yeah, this game was awesome, and for a movie tie-in and a GTA clone it was pretty damn ambitious. A greater emphasis on the business side of things, having TWO sandboxes in both Miami and the Bahamas, and general gameplay improvements from the GTA formula of the time... good stuff. Story wasn't anything mind-blowing, but it was still a pretty cool "What if...?". I'm still impressed by André Sogliuzzo's performance as Tony Montana, he was pretty dead on. I also loved having Robert Davi stepping in for the late Paul Shenar as Sosa, because Robert Davi is the man! Another thing I wanna praise is the OST. Not only was the licensed song selection really good, but the original score was fantastic. This track in particular was just... aaaah it's so good. Overall, just a huge nostalgic favorite of mine, and I too would love to see a remaster/re-release someday. JayKed20
I'd like a sequel to this game and The GodFather game, or a remake/remaster for PS4, Xbox One and Switch or even a spiritual successor, and considering how many old games are coming back I wouldn't put it past them, especially since there hasn't been a new GTA game in years they could fill that void (Although Saints Row 5 might do that.) Although with The GodFather games they'd probably have to do a spiritual successor or remake since the only place they could go after GodFather 2 is GodFather 3, and I've heard that one is less than stellar. JayKed20
Honestly if this and The GodFather game were made before GTA 3, they'd probably be considered the Goldeneye 64 of open world games, as in heavily influential games that paved the way for what came next, but were also licensed games. Not sure how much it costs where you live though. PS2's are pretty cheap to buy now, you can find them anywhere from my experience. I actually considered buying a PS2 at one point just play some of these games again, and get the true oldschool GTA experience. It's not quite the same playing it on PS4 for some reason. Zello
Can we get a remaster plz? Activision or whoever has the rights please make it happen. The tricky part is the soundtrack and the licenses because it is a movie game. But with that new Scarface movie in development a remaster or a remake would be the perfect way to build up excitement for that film.
