How about port it to San Andreas engine? ;)

I have already got port for Gta : LC (vice city mod here is some screens of my mod http://gtaforums.com/topic/885644-high-quality-assets/?do=findComment&comment=1069612519) and in near future I will share it if I find time for upload but I couldn't find GTA 3 map mod for San Andreas with missions. I only found GTA SA: Liberty City mod beta 7. There is no mission on that mod. Do you know any other alternative for san andreas mod with missions?

 

If I can't find any alternative maybe I can make a port for GTA SA: Liberty City beta 7 mod, which is at this link

because vice city and III engine are equivalents, it just add few features. However san andreas engine is total improvement from previous engine. Many files has different structures. for examples ifp animation including bone hierarchy. And don't forget about cutscene location.

of course but GTA III is using the totally different skeleton system for character animations so I thought that maybe vc version can be a little bit easier than III version for porting.

Actually if you have that VC mod with working cutscenes, shouldn't be too difficult. Back in the day one friend of mine wrote a 3ds Max script that could convert vice city peds to San Andreas with the original weights for bones. But that was like 5-7 years ago, so I don't have the script anymore of course :(

I actually went through our PMs and also found it :D Also, did I send you the edited version, where I changed it to somehow convert SA cutscene peds into game ones. I wish I still had that one...

Looks really impressive, never seen any hd improvement of the entire 3d era games look that realistic! Just call the mods you got from the other modders placeholders and call it something like "hd mod barebone for total conversion " or something include a list of mods you used for the screenshots and that they are just to show what is possible combined with other mods share only your files and everyone is happy and when its 6 years already in the works a few months or more are worth it. My idea would be to do the same hd mod for this wip map http://gtaforums.com/topic/881417-liberty-city-countryside/than it would be the most complete gta 3 map ever!

Importing maps or objects aren't too hard to do. The most important thing is keeping gameplay time to 2 hours as a minimum without any crashes under GTA III Renderware engine's memory limitations. I got a success about it on that mod. After that, I only will share fixes for textures or models without extending filesizes. This mod has been done for me after 8 years :)
