Finished and first mission save games,

you cannot start new game. You can use first mission save for start. here is link(you can also use any kind of gta 3 savegames. game doesn't create any support problem for different savegames)

Installation,

only paste all files from rar to your fresh and unmodded GTA III.

Today I made little test again. I started from Luigi's Girls mission and played to Asuka's first mission. I also finished taxi mission with in this gameplay. I didn't get any error or exception. My gameplay time was about 4 hours.

 

How to play,

DON'T USE gta3.exe DIRECTLY FOR PLAYING. YOU NEED START GAME WITH GTAIIILauncher.exe(Run as admin). If you play with gta3.exe your game will crash in 10 or 15 minutes because of high memory usage(texture filesizes are very big and memory eater). I used cleanmem for making walkaround to that problem and GTAIIILauncher.exe is organizing memory usage issues for gta3.exe.

 

Settings,

I always used draw distance about %60 and used frame limiter on(If you choose "on" game will be played 60 fps not 30). I didn't get any problem with this settings with latest version.

Hi;

 

I'm fan of GTA III. I have made this for years (maybe 6 - 8 years It became my endless hobby). It includes other modders works too so I can't share it.

 

replaced nearly all textures to HD ones(all buildings, all shops.. nearly everything, I replaced txd by txd. daily 10 txd files replaced)

replaced nearly all pedestrians to GTA 4 (I'm still working on. All men peds replaced. I replaced 10 women and yesterday I replaced 3 more women peds too)

replaced nearly all vehicles to GTA 4

added lots of locations from GTA 4(basketball courts, apartments, offices etc)

I added real grass lots of locations(It has very low poly model and there isn't any fps drop)

 

 

I want your ideas. How can I make it better? here is screenshots.

It looks nice.

 

Why not try and remove all other mods from it and release the texture pack standalone? You could then have a list of recommended mods to go with it like so many other mod creators do. That way 8 years are not wasted and you are complying with the rules.

Maybe In my free time I can remove other modders works and share it. But it looks very very impossible in near future :)

Yes I know it so I wrote "Maybe In my free time I can remove other modders works." When I remove all other works it becomes my mod. but it is impossible for near future :) I only want to share some good screenshots of my old friend GTA III thats all

So let me get this straight, you worked on it for 6-8 years, but you won't release it at all because you included other modders work?

no no no no It is not mod it is my freetime hobby(I have vice city too, it has 60 extra vehicles, 20 extra weapons(added via MVL) and hd replacement) and I want to share some screenshots. I'm member of this forum for years but I have only 15 posts. you can work for job not for hobbies. Hobbies are only for fun.

 

and maybe you are right, It can be wrong place for these screenshots. I don't know this forum well.

No you are wrong. I'm not very professional on modding like you(I'm following your dream project gta underground. I looks awesome and I can't imagine how to make it :D ) but I have some good abilities. Let me explain;

 

for example I got church textures from here http://spiralgraphics.biz/packs/building_church_fortress/index.htm?14 I searched lots of textures on internet and prepare them from txd builder(used that for dff check) and txd workshop. Sometimes I prepare and combine textures via paint.net. I used this link http://www.ref3.gta.mendelsohn.de/IDE_index.html to understand which txd has relation with dff. I extract dff file via imgtool2.0 and use dff viewer to understand what is this dff.

I'm using med editor to edit and create ipl and ide files(but when I try to edit some part of map it crashes because of lots of objects I don't know is there any way to render it on med. for now I solved this problem by this way: I make comment some lines on ipl and open it on med when my editing is finished I make uncomment lines again) for map.I found some gta 4 cars and building models but It has collision problems(vehicle collisions are very big problem. when traffic crash occures if vehicle's collision is wrong, game stops working so I made list of vehicles and try to crash all of them to check has any collision problem on vehicles). I'm using col editor to fix them. Im using 3ds max to edit models (with kams script) and sometimes Im using dff viewer to understand what dff is... etc

 

for now I'm adding more mail boxes, trash containers, trashes, boxes, rusty pipes on pavements (I think it will look like gta 4) because pavements looks very empty and unrealistic. It will be long process because of adding them street by street. If I create big trash area it causes fps drop so I make little trash area and give it a short render distance. I got experience when I was adding real grass. I created ide and ipl file and started from staunton island. I'm duplicating ipl lines via med on my free times.

For the 1st 20 minutes of viewing the mod i thought it was a GTA IV mod...

 

(Also remove the gray effect this mod has...it was good at 1st but the novelty is wearing off..it's overkill)

yesterday I tried your suggestion on vice city. I exported that building to rw 3.2.0.0(I don't know but on 3.1 version model was visible on med but became invisible on game) and replaced their textures. I think results are very good(I know this building doesn't fit on game's era New York, it was just an experiment). I will reinstall fresh san andreas on weekend and try this on some san andreas models too, I think it won't be hard. Thanks a lot for suggestion :)

No problem, for a good quality dff file you should use Seggermans DFF exporter or better, The Hero's exporter.

 

Be sure you apply DVC into NVC though!

I see, he can do permission to all mods creators as a standalone programm/mod to be free of product placement

To improve, I suggest:

-color filter

-env daylight /hack amb colour

-car "real" reflections

-more power to pointlight

Good luck. Mod looks marvelous, and lay not to be far from IV :) Really impress 😃
