I think it would be fitting more to make another thread after the actual trailer, so divide predictions before/after the trailer and focus on specific date of 2025.

Since GTA 6 is now for 2025 and TakeTwo predicts big year for fiscal 2025, its a given the game will be released in the first quarter of 2025? Or could these big numbers just mean preorders?

if the game is going to be released Spring 2025 (best case scenario) then I could see them dropping a trailer somewhere around July or August

They seem more firm on the release window now. Here’s hoping they won’t delay it this time around

 

FY25 doesn’t really fall into October afaik so it should be before that that’s for sure

There was a fiscal year report for GTA V which was supposed to be a Spring 2013 release, it was then delayed to September. So I wouldn't place faith in fiscal year reports.

 

I don't know how you got this idea they're "firm" on the release window now. The trailer just said coming 2025. That's a generalization meaning it could be any time of that year. No matter what leakers or insiders say, the release date is something that no one will accurately know until it is officially announced. Judging by R*'s history, I'm going with a September-October release.

In a way, they were correct. V was actually announced to release in Spring 2013. It's just that it was delayed to September 2013. For VI, we only have the year so far, along with T2's revenue predictions. Another thing is that VI is being developed by the entirety of R*, whereas V was developed predominantly by R* North.

 

Regardless, none of what I said is to refute the sentiment that VI couldn't possibly end up being a late 2025 game, but taking everything into account and how their workflow balance has changed over the last 4-5 years, they probably have a better shot at hitting the Q1 window than they would've in the 2010s because I think it's very likely that VI is much further into development than either V or RDR2 were relative to the time they were revealed.

Main point is that Q1 release and trying to use the fiscal report as some confirmation still means nothing. The game can be delayed. It's not a set release.

 

So saying they were correct doesn't matter if it didn't legitimately happen.

 

The same exact scenario is likely to happen now.

New poll it is, this one is so many years old that there is a mix of people changing their votes and people voting anew, so it's all skewed anyway. I believe I've posted previous screenshots of how it used to be so I guess we can take a look back at the earlier posts when people still thought this'd be coming by 2020

Probably should change the poll options. At this point it's certain it won't come before Septermber '25 at the earliest. "July - December 2025" is also too large of a range, need a monthly one

When the News broke in March 2020 about GTA 6 being in the "Early Stages of Development" I had a feeling that it probably wouldn't have released until Fall 2025 anyway.

 

The only thing I was wrong about though was an October 2023 announcement

The latest news hasn't changed my thoughts. Well, in fact it makes me feel more confident in saying 2026 release.

 

I'd of course have liked it to come out early 2025 and I'd like it if it does actually come out late 2025 but I've been preparing myself for 2026 all along since we saw 2025 in the trailer lol.

 

PC will be 2027 (I'm primarily a pc player but I have a PS5 now)

A delay could always happen but idk, it seems like they're very confident in a fall 2025 release, otherwise they wouldn't have announced it this early.
