We will see in this week's investor call whether strauss still expects these 8 Billion. If so, we can carefully expect that they still aim for fall 2024, if not then an early 2025 release is more likely

Imagine if they release a larger number

Like what tez said , early 2025 is their aim at the moment but the upcoming investor call will determine if he is right or not

Doesn't sound unreasonable, but why would Stauss predict 8 Billion in FY25 if they drop it late 2025? Or even early 25, not enough time to reach that number.

The same happened with GTAV. Take-Two was projecting a net income of $1.75 - $2 per share for fiscal year 2013 (Apr 2012 - Mar 2013). But once Rockstar announced the first release date (delayed later on), that dropped to $0 - $0.20 per share.

The "holiday 2024" window is more the "late 2012" window for V and "Fall 2017" window for RDR2. I'm sure T2 would want to squeeze the game into the most profitable season that is the holiday season, but you don't want a buggy launch either.

That wasn't really a deadline. More of an estimated release window.

Several devs expect the release window in 2025. A spring release is what's expected. But Rockstar aimed for a Spring release for both GTAV & RDR2 in the past that was eventually delayed to a Fall release.

I predict an announcement coinciding with the celebration of Rockstar's anniversary somewhere between late Nov and early Dec. And if not that, then a Feb announcement.

I expect GTAO Heist Month to be more V themed. And for Rockstar to offer us the rest of GTAV anniversary clothing during this month. Focusing on V and concluding with Rockstar's anniversary and a chance of talking about what's next.

I'm expecting the full reveal of GTA 6 within 6 months (or less as well) If it's sooner (and if not reveled before the anniversary dates) the chance is there for the reveal of GTA 6 on those particular anniversary dates, but the chance is small due to timing inconsistencies of previous GTA reveals. However, there are consistencies of reveal dates of - GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, each were reveled in the month of Jan. and a confirmation of the next GTA entry was issued in Feb. of 2022 (I'm counting that in as well, that does technically count as a reveal.) With these timing consistencies verses a reveal on a anniversary date, there is a greater chance of a reveal during the early part of the year. There could possibly be another reveal of some sort or an update on the progress of GTA 6 at some point before this year ends. As of now, I'm leaning more towards for the full reveal (with trailer) between Jan. and April next year. So, of course, I'm not discounting your prediction of a reveal in Feb. I'm expecting the full game release to be sometime late summer/fall 2024 (if no delay that would postpone it into early 2025.)

The holiday 2024 seems possible, from what we've seen so far. It's not unlikely for them to delay it due to lack of crunch culture, but to me it's really f*cking up with the investors.

They can still like seriously make a sh*t ton of money in a December release, still a good time, Christmas presents and all that jazz. Basically, you'd want either November or December. December imo is preferable as alot of holidays fall in that month, also other religions

FWIW, I don't even expect an announcement until late 2024. 2025 seems like when it's releasing, so that makes sense.

But that's not an analytical prediction.

God damn, son. You were just predicting an announcement with a dateline from two weeks ago. Now you’re inexplicably delaying it a year?!

who are you—Rockstar?!

I don't care if the game releases in Summer or Fall of 2025
but please just announce the game already, I can't imagine waiting until late 2024 or even early 2025 for an announcement...

I know, I know. But one is an analytical assessment. The other is my own personal opinion and expectation.

Sooner or later, GTA VI HAS to be announced. If what I know is true, and GTA VI is a 2025 release, then there's no point in expecting an announcement until the end of 2024. It can, and may happen before, but why disappoint yourself with that expectation? Late April - early May makes sense if they intend to announce it before their Q4 financial report. That's all.

I assume this is a late nov early dec 2024 prediction and not this year?

Supposed inside information or not, it's easy to forget that Take-Two's FY25 runs up until Q2 2025.

To my knowledge they've never released a mainline GTA outside the Fall (Oct-Nov) but they have released some games, including some GTA expansions and spin-offs, earlier in the year, plus RDR1. They've also delayed both RDR2 and GTA V to Spring before, where it was obviously later delayed, so it is perhaps not a huge issue for them to launch a new mainline GTA in the Spring. One may argue it may actually be their plan, so the holidays don't interfere too much with their early support for GTAO2 - post-launch vacations, holiday break, etc.

Food for thought, anyway.

I don’t think this is the problem, because rockstar wouldn’t have to work 100 hours a week on RDR2 final months of development.

Hmm? Not sure what the point you're making is.

In any case, R* are actively trying to avoid crunching and releasing a game with a giant online component in the holidays could be tricky, especially when mixed in with the studios standard breaks for staff after a release.

Not saying it's a stumbling block, might not even be something they're seriously thinking about, but combined with FY25 running in 2025 it may work out better for them to release VI in the Spring.

An educated guess? I don't recall a time rockstar didn't announce near an earning's meeting, but I don't think they need to. The stock price would go at least 50% up and investors would definitely keep their shares in take two.

Also , i feel now it's better to expect 2025 October release and can't believe I'm about to say this but there is a possibility of 2026 spring knowing rockstar .

Either way i just hope when we play the game it is worth the wait .

GTA IV was in April, but it was delayed from October 2007.

Rockstar will ultimately release when the game is ready, although that was back when crunch was a thing. But yes, they do have 'preferences'.

Me, too. But many of us all saw an announcement this October. Most of the time we're wrong.

What you say, Len?
