I'm alright w/ multiple protagonists, though in my heart of hearts I really wanted to be Native American centered.

Since this is indeed a prequel, Im sure Native Americans will play a much larger role than they did in RDR. Also, according to the leaked map/trailer, this game takes place much more north and by mountainous areas which is where Native Americans were more prominent during that time of age

Making another Red Dead set after Redemption would just make it less a western or set in the old west when by the end of RDR it was in the 1920s. You'd just be creeping towards being another Mafia game.

Maybe I misunderstand what you mean, but...pretty much EVERY GTA game has been about the mafia. I can't think of a single GTA game that didn't involve organized crime as the central story mechanic of the game.

He means a game set in the 1920s and onwards, classic gangster time and all that.

 

It would probably be redundant and I doubt they would do it since Rockstar has a period based L.A Noire franchise and under the same parent company there's the Mafia series itself with 2K Czech or now Hanger 13.

Just to make this clear: this is a supposed "leak", so if we learned anything from GTA V is that 99% of times, it shouldn't be taken seriously, especially with a game in early development, I'm just sharing this here.

 

One of the largest Rockstar Games related YouTube channels from Brazil just posted this:

 

If you skip to 4:30, you'll see the point of the video. According to him, someone "sent" "him" an email with a "leaked" "official" E3 doccument claiming that, among other games, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online will have a gameplay shown at E3. He only reads the paper, so you're missing nothing by not understanding him.

 

At 6:21, he shows a print of the supposed email, saying that a new Trailer will be coming out early February (soon...).

 

I'm very skeptical about it, but I tought I'd share.

 

So... RDR2 at E3? My guess: Maybe, it's still quite far away.

It's highly plausible even without a "leak" as Sony confirmed at the announcement that they have a special promotional partnership with Rockstar for RDR2, it'd be a good scoop to show something at E3, even though we know Rockstar themselves aren't tradtionally present. However, lists like that are easily faked, it could be anyone's guess.

Definitely interesting, but I'll also drop the warning this can be easily faked by anyone, known YouTuber or not (not saying it was him faking it). I have speculated to myself before that Sony could have some sort of gameplay demonstration at E3, given that Sony and Rockstar have an even stronger partnership with RDR2, so it wouldn't be too shocking.

 

It is definitely possible, but taking it with a pinch of salt.

I didn't talk about it and didn't even reply to the email since it looks fake to me, for a few reasons;

• That Sony logo on the top left should be orange, not green
• Actual confidentials documents don't say "confidential" on them, the few people who get them obviously know that it's confidential
• The trademarks stuff at the bottom should not be there if it was an internal document
• The PlayStation logo at the bottom makes no sense either

The whole thing seems fishy.

There's a reason you rarely, if ever see E3 documents leaked. The document screams fake, filled with 1st party games then conveniently has RDR and the much rumoured "AC: Empire" to make it seem legit. Even then, why would that document exist? Why name the games specifically? Their E3 plans are probably scheduling and logistics at the moment, not "what games have we got confirmed" - and I doubt there would be a single document detailing it all at this point.

 

As for RDR appearing at E3, I feel as if a trailer shown during one of the conferences is no where near as unlikely as it used to be for Rockstar, but I still doubt it'll happen.

Both those happenings are nothing but plausible at this point. Yan pointed out some interesting inaccuracies, and it is true E3 stuff almost never leaks, especially not in this way. Rockstar showing something at E3 with Sony could easily happen because their partnership is stronger than ever, and the trailer this month is also plausible because of the posters and cards being pushed to stores, and all the other stuff we've been talking about over on the main thread. None of those things may happen, who knows, but it's plausible.

 

That said, the fact that it was sent to several influential people does make it very fishy. Due to this, I've moved the discussion to this main Speculation thread.

I used to watch this dude... But then, I started to browse GTAF (better information than the ones he barely sh*t on in his videos) and realized how crappy his channel was.

About the document:

The formatting looks weird.

The PlayStation logo is lacking a copyright mark next to the "PS".

I think an official document would have its logos on the bottom/corners and not centralized... I don't know.

I can see a 1 minute trailer at Sony's, but gameplay? Nah, it's never going to happen. It's far from being a R* thing and they don't need to change their ways. Newswire is their electronic E3. They won't show a gameplay without the traditional narration (Gameplay series).

This was never confirmed. I downloaded the full Denuvo leak and the only things it had were people asking Denuvo if R* was gonna use it for GTA V. Reddit spread this and then immediately backed out on it as they noticed they were emails ABOUT Rockstar not FROM Rockstar.

But remember back in 2014, before the release of the PC version for GTAV, Rockstar's logo was on Denuvo's site. Someone emailed Denuvo regarding that matter and later replied that ROCKSTAR WASN'T USING DENUVO FOR GTAV. So it could probably mean RDR2 PC version?
