As I've said before I wouldn't be too surprised if they announced a remaster, especially if the new Red Dead is somewhat of a direct sequel to the previous. It would leave PC and PS4 players behind.

It'll be mostly a new region though if the map is believed and I couldn't imagine the story being tied directly to RDR? Who knows though.

 

I thought the screenshot was more a concept because nobody could figure out if it was a location in RDR and some of the plants looked native to something you'd see in Florida or Louisiana?

Honestly I've heard both things, and as I haven't played RDR, I wasn't sure, so I ended up believing it was a location within RDR either way. And well, maybe Rockstar wouldn't want to leave people behind in the series, extra sales and all that.
Regardless, not far now, 2 days, hyped.

Tbh I wish a remaster for Red Dead Redemption happens before the next Red Dead 3. The backwards compatibility for Xbox One was a big f*ck you to PS4 and PC users. PC players have waited long enough for Red Dead to be playable on PC, even to long extremes of trying to emulate it through Xbox 360 emulator (Xenia). Knowing Rockstar, they will make the next Red Dead console exclusive for few years (GTA V).

Ok so leaks/rumor time! A Korean gaming site Gamefocus is reporting that a remaster for Red Dead Redemption is coming for PC, PS4 and X1 and is set for release the first half of 2017. The remaster is set to be announced this Wednesday:

The info they say comes from their sources in that a Asian localization exists for a Red Dead Redemption HD listing the 3 systems and release window. I personally think they have their information confused and the info is for a new Red Dead because after the X1 BC release hubbub and the of course RDR's engine woes, I just don't see a remaster coming.

 

The other exciting bit was as this got posted on NeoGAF, one of the members there posted that he's friends with a few of the North guys and on Friday when he chatted with them they said they were working on "something exciting for a preexisting IP" and was set to be revealed "in the next 2 weeks".

I would be quite pissed off if it's a Remaster of RD2. That usually means no new content, and for a game that is almost 7 years old that is just bad.

 

Skyrim will be 5 years old when it's Remaster comes out, but you have potential for mods (at least for XB1).

 

Now if it's a Reduex or a complete Remake, thats a different story.

 

 

Oh just and fyi, Redemption was already an HD game.

I'm also starting to think whether that Red Dead Redux boxart was real or not. Although the artist said it was nothing, he deleted the page. He said he developed art for two concept titles, I'm starting to think it was just damage control. He had several versions of it, but it was all deleted since.

Another thing we shall see in 2 days.

The only thing that could stop them from remastering Redemption is probably the state of its code. Rockstar still isn't all that organised, but hey, if they manage to port stuff to the latest version of RAGE, then so be it.

The only thing that could stop them from remastering Redemption is probably the state of its code. Rockstar still isn't all that organised, but hey, if they manage to port stuff to the latest version of RAGE, then so be it.

That was clear from the beginning. It would not make sense to have a full feature cover story for a game that's not even announced Wednesday can't cone soon enough. All aboard the hypetrain ... chooooooo chooooooooooo !!!

Except that it's probably an unnanounced game. People are speculating it's Borderlands 3 as GI has always broke the news of new Borderlands. Also, speculating is not believing

I wonder if the beta branch of GTA IV on SteamDB is in the list of their upcoming announcements...

I'm really interested in knowing what is about it... Even though I know it's VMC messing with it. I suppose they are taking GFWL out of the game and porting it to Steam/RGSC.

Excuse my big post, but I just moved to a new house so I haven't been able to check this thread in a while

Actually GTA 1 was developed for the PC (MS-DOS) and the Windows and Playstation versions were ports. The Playstation port was actually done by a 3rd party developer.

GTA 2 I'm unsure about the development cycle, but you could switch between noon and dusk lighting. On the Dreamcast, you were locked to dusk setting and Playstation was locked to noon. Running a dusk setting required better hardware for the shadow rendering.


It wasnt until GTA 3 that the Playstation became it's flagship.

 

But most of those were still PlayStation exclusive, they weren't available on Saturn or N64

Anyways, that location is no way in RDR, a lot of people thought it was Thief's Landing but that was proven false.

I wish someone had grabbed the rest of the photos, it was quite something! He created a crate and box art for it that even included a disc with art and a pull out map that was a really well done rendition of the leaked map that made it look "authentic". Not sure why he would delete everything when he told everyone up front it was a dream fan project that he was going to send to Rockstar as a fan gift of sorts..
