I still think and will in every post I make mention that we should finish up Weapons game before we do something big like this.

I think we should finish weapons as well, with a list that long we will get story dlc before it ends

As far as Los Santos Rock Radio, it's just a game. There's always bandwagon waves of people trying to downvote the most popular item. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. But it's pretty standard fare. I guess radio is more personal to people, but it's nothing out of the ordinary for GTAF.

This is (as far as I recall) the longest game we ever had.

It was a fun game everybody! (all the action took role during my sleep time)

 

Los Santos Rock Radio still standed for a really nice time, so it's cool to know that a significant portion of the community shares similar music tastes with me. About everybody, whatever is their favourite in-game radio station, that has been saying bad things about others regarding their interests, just keep in mind everyone's free to have their own tastes and it's good it's like that - freedom of choice - why not taking this on a good sports way and appreciate our own musical preferences? After all, think for example on the punk guys, which have a pretty decent radio station (without Misfits, though ) and we're one of the first ones to fall.

Because I would imagine that it would take forever for us to do vehicles that are in a class individually (i.e. the sports car elimination game).

The method wasn't biased but your comments regarding LSRR were...

 

Just leave it as figures without stating a personal view as fact.

 

My timezone is Israel atm rather than UK and I was awake for a minute and f*cking around on my phone.

 

I also never once downvoted LSRR just to reiterate and I downvoted RMP with every single vote but don't care that it won...I liked worldwide fm...the attitude of LSRR people was laced with misplaced elitism and was pathetic...LSRR is probably in my top 5 stations.

I assumed that's what he meant too, couldn't really be anything else as the graph itself isn't biased, how could it be.

 

I wonder what would have won if there had been no discussion allowed, just post your vote and that's it. I don't think it would have ended up as it did, I think the vocal LSRR fans ended up accidentally sabotaging their own station by getting in people's faces too much. No offence just an observation.

 

Regarding the vehicle brand game, how about one game for American brands then another for rest of the world? That might trim both games down to a decent size. Or American, European and rest of the world.

Oh I understand. That's relieving. This is the line you were referring to in the Elimination List:

"4. Los Santos Rock Radio (2016/04/14) - Rest in Peace Best Station in GTA"

For the Elimination List, I edited that in after the fact to provide additional detail to the graph. I copied/pasted it from the Original Post and fixed the colors, but honestly I didn't see the extra comments on #4 until you mentioned it. That was a typo on my part. I've actually been against Los Santos Rock Radio this whole time. Go to the first page and see who's the first person to vote against LSRR. Then you can check out my votes after that. I've been pretty consistent.

 

I've made sure to keep my votes/opinions separate from my earlier graphs throughout this thread and previously though. I value objectivity too.

I think discussion is valuable for the game. It adds another layer to things and can be a huge part of strategy. However, when there's big up and down swings in votes, I've noticed that it often happens during periods of straight voting without much discussion. When it's just score after score after score, patterns can develop and it can roll into something bigger. So it's interesting.

 

I'm leaning towards locations now. Splitting vehicles up would be good, but I'm not sure that's the way. Classes maybe?

I guess so...I don't know what it is about rock fans but they seem to struggle with not doing that...I could quite easily form a musicologist argument as to why worldwide had the best music but it would be pointless and just make me look like a total idiot...whenever anyone tries to argue why a particular genre is the best they look like a total idiot.

You could argue why say one classic jungle tune is better than another more effectively as they're comparable in terms of structure and tempo as well as percussion and pads etc but tbh even that is stupid...I like a tune called "wolf" by shy fx which is kind of sh*t in some ways but I just like it regardless...largely because I have owned it on vinyl since I was 15...nostalgia plays a part...the fact my vinyl has lost some treble over the years gives my vinyl a certain flavour...Omni trio "torn" was one of the tunes I missed that I now love but it doesn't quite hold the same ties for me as "wolf" even though it's got far superior production and the percussion is incredible as is the huge bassweight underpinning and it's even in terms of style more conducive to emotional ties as it's beautiful and not a jump up silly tune like "wolf"...if I'd heard it when it originally came out on the album in 1995 I'd have incredible strong ties to it but instead I heard Omni trios "renegade snares" and that instead holds me in that way...I think torn is superior in terms of every element in terms of the way it's put together but renegade snares makes the hairs on my neck stand up.

So even that is pointless...arguing between classic rock songs too is pointless even though it's less pointless...I remember hearing "we built this city" as a little kid and it holds strong emotional ties for me...I know it's cheesy as f*ck and lyrically terrible but I love it regardless more than say Baker Street which is technically better and lyrically better because I heard it much later in my life.

So we've established that's pointless so imagine how pointless it is arguing between classic rock and electronica/jazz/Latin/dubstep/house or soul or even Mexican music...I guess you could call it unbelievably pointless especially as to even approach fairly weighing up any musical pros and cons you would need to first forget nostalgia and emotional ties you hold to the genre you're trying to argue is superior and that's forgetting the most important element...having an equal knowledge of each genre that allows you to affectively judge them.

If both of these factors are not taken into account then it is laughable and shows not just a lack of musical understanding but also maturity.

 

I should add that I do hold an encyclopaedic knowledge of music relative to most people and have worked in the music industry since I was 20 and am now 35...even when I was 20 I owned over 1000 records and thousands of CDs.

Even when i lose in game i still message other players "good game", i guess your one of those that stay mad at someone for days for winning a game.

I think this was one of the most exciting and fair elimination games we had here on gtaf, in my opinion

It's a joke because of the huge bias, don't think that I've forgotten about the huge wave of downvotes against LSRR and upvotes for RMP all in a single row, and most of these downvotes were not because they dislike the content of LSRR, they downvoted because it was above 50 points while the rest of the radios were below 40.

 

I am over it, so you can't really label me as a petty person because I ain't one, but I still have every fair right and freedom to say that this game was a joke, just like how you can say this game is a joke if our positions were swapped.
