(PC) Game freezes anyone?

9 out of 10 crew members had constantly freezing games tonight in free mode, races and heists. Anyone else?

Yes mate, it's rampant today. Not sure exactly what the cause is, but for the last 3 hours myself and 5 mates have been randomly crashing from Free Roam.

 

I'd expect a hotfix fast, because this is f*cked up lol.

Oh i'm sad and happy at the same time. Happy i'm not the only one. I have crashed 3 times. 1 time in freeroam 1 time in single player and once in a lamar mission. THis game is going in a bad direction if this is what they think is a finished product.. EDIT all this today,

Me and 3 more friends, one time me, 4 times, 7 times and 8 times, the rest, in last 2 hours.

I posted something on the PC section already and get the exact same issue. I play for 5 to 10 minutes and : "bye bye", GTA stopped working. Freeze.

This has been reported by several GTAF members and people on Reddit.

The game locks up and it says "GTAV.exe has stopped working."

 

I can't play more than 10 minutes without a crash but it seemed like it was working fine earlier today.

I guess we'll have to wait for a fix. If I suggest there's a problem on their end they will not be having it.

worked for me, I just played 4 survivals in a row and no crash. It's up 2 u

This has been happening to my friends and I since last night. Game keeps constantly crashing, and lobbies seem laggier than usual too. Hope R* manages to fix it, it gets annoying as hell when i'm doing VIP work or a heist and my game decides to crash or lag me out even though my connection is perfectly stable(never had lag problems before this either).

 

Also, on a side note, has anyone else noticed that there has been a huge increase in the amount of modders lately? One session I joined had 6 modders in it!

What's that got to do with your assertion that the freezes we're discussing are caused by modders? You're 99% sure, after all. You must have something to back up that claim, no?

it's freezing outside, gtao freezes inside, now i'm feeling cold.
not playing gtao gave me time to apply for a new job, reinstall san andreas and do a loads of taxi missions before finally i figured i'd take the time to create an account on this forum after having lurked for ages and ages.

and also the amount of modders iv come across in the last few days like b4 the update at least one in every lobby if not more

Most of the times I was freezed during solo missions or invite only session yesterday, so no, nothing to do with modders.

Nah, it doesn't work that way. I speak as someone who often bestows turbo horns on other players.

was having problems like this last night as well. What I noticed was that it was anytime I was trying to return to freemode that was public. I went invite only and the problems ceased. Wonder if there was something changed yesterday by R* that didn't quite go to plan? If it isn't that .. I was suspecting some sort of DoS attack ... magic packet style... send packet and poof... not like someone couldn't detect freemode sessions ... the client knows about them ... client is hacked regularly ...

 

was this problem PC only? that is the key question...

Game just literally peaked at 60,904 on Steam right now, doubt it's still an issue.

Still an issue here, just tried invite only, joined a mission and completed it then voted but got stuck in the clouds & sent back to freeroam. Good Friday indeed

^ that is a different issue - last night was crash to desktop when leaving a job (or anything really) and trying to enter free roam. Invite only solved that problem ...

I've had modders people running scripts crash my game on several occasions on PC too, either through 'cloning' methods or being instantly crashed with no clones appearing. If it happens after calling someone out in the public chat, then that's a pretty good indication someone's chosen to use that function on my name/ game. However recently there hasn't been any sort of knowledge it's going to happen and therefore it could easily be the game itself or something else causing it.

 

Rockstar patched one or two natives in the last 1.33 update to GTA Online which were causing bad sports points to gain and money to be taken away from players unsuspectingly so lets hope they get their act together sorting this one out.
