Then I get directed to a site whose name starts with Google.com but continues with something else, and in incorrect English tells me to download a new version of software for my phone. It doesn't happen with any other sites, and the frequency I get it here suggests it may be embedded in one of the random banner ads. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Girish Posted March 28, 2016 Share Posted March 28, 2016 I highly doubt this has got anything to do with the ads on GTAF since they come directly from Google AdSense. I suggest you scan your phone for malware. Check if you any unwanted applications have downloaded themselves onto your phone (Settings>Apps) and remove them. It's basically pot luck whether you get delivered good adverts or complete crap, but they usually bounce it through a few layers of redirection so you can't actually tell where it came from. The only adverts I see on GTAF are either about cars, Android, or technology in general. I've experienced what OP is discussing many times before, but not on this site.
