This idea is pretty much completely taken from Metal Gear Solid, so I'll let gameplay from that do most of the talking (skip to 5:10 for it):

 

 

 

I think a more advanced version of this could be a good anti - jet weapon. Think of the Kamikaze Besra attacks; this would be similar to that. You could send up a missile, control it and get into a kind of dogfight with a jet. The jet could avoid it, but it'd be more complex than the simple spinning in circles that works against homing launchers.

 

I think it's a pretty awesome weapon anyway, plus doing this with it would be great:

It has to be 100% accurate and with a cooldown.

Also, passive has to be removed when in any attack air vehicle.

Only then would it be fair to have that in game.

Towards aircraft, it could probably be useful against cancerous jet griefers, but since I'm both a cancerous jet griefer myself and a vulnerable helicopter pilot, I dislike your suggestion.

Just level lock it, limit the ammo and make it expensive. Then add it.

 

I would be using it to race with other rockets.

Nice idea! but in a game like GTAO where some players use weapons in the way they never meant to be used...it...just...would make things even worse.

I think it could an option against air vehicles, but I don't see how it would be anything but overpowered on the ground. Maybe it can only fire into the sky.

 

But then how would it not just be a more OP homing launcher against unarmed aircraft?

Sounds like a good idea, and it could replace the Homing Launcher in lethality. As long as the damage output is high, but it's difficult to control, this might be pretty balanced. There has to be an 'out of bounds' radius for the missiles however, to again keep it balanced.

I was looking back at some gifs of old suicidal Besra footage when I remember this weapon. It kind of reminded me of it.

 

Those were kind of similar. They could give jets a run for their money, but it was awkward to crash into people with them since they were fast and had to be handled well.

 

 

If it ever gets added, I will be using it a lot against snipers.

I didn't even think of that actually. I don't know if that's good or bad, but it could be pretty effective lol.

Edit: I would be afraid of someone hiding on say the top of maze bank firing rockets while not being able to be attacked and you would probably be able to buy ammo for it from anywhere so they wouldn't have to come out of their hiding spot.

Not a bad idea, but would need stuff like bulky movement speed, and other balancing features.

 

Not like it would get rid of all the homing launcher kiddies though.

Yeah, the main problem is that is has the potential to be a really irritating weapon (when you're on the wrong side of it anyway).

 

One possible solution would be to make it semi - lock on. The lock on would only work on aircraft and vehicles, but wouldn't actually make it follow them; it would just keep the missile from exploding. That way, if you went after a person on foot, you wouldn't have long until the missile blew up (since it wouldn't lock).

Nikita in MGS can't be controlled to go up/down, the missile stays at a fixed distance from the ground and only goes up higher on ramps/hills. If there's, say, a rock, it just hits it and explodes. It's only really effective on ground targets. That is one way to balance it.

That sounds like the direction it shouldn't be going to be balanced.

Just make it hold only 1 missle, be forced to buy ammo for it at an ammunation, and charge like 50 grand per missle and bam it's balanced.

Because no one will use it for that price​.

Sounds like a good idea at first but a remote controlled missile in GTA capable of hitting jets would be too small and fast to be accurate. As we all know if you want it added to counter jets it will only be used against helicopters.
