To the people who cheris their sub 500 level characters it's a travesty...they worked so hard to get to 300 or 400 and these jerks get to the finish line first...it's an introspective issue for sure. I don't see levels in free roam just dots on a map. The only people I report are abusers of glitches which on xb1 is few and far between given my hours of play time. My crew rank on both of my lvl 700 characters are maxed at 999. I get accused of having a modded account just because they exist and people are butthurt over this meanigless number.

 

 

 

Is it easily banable yes but you and others have pointed out the modded accounts will return with more believable levels. It won't solve anything because there won't be console bans.

But here's the problem: what if that user actually managed to go to rank 8000 legit?? they never know, so if they ban someone who leveled up legit, that user will stop playing the game. they must get any evidence the user that cheated or else... they simply cannot do a thing.

if you see my post, a legit level 8000 would have had spent like 1200 to 1300 days in GTAOnline but considering that GTA 5 from old gen to current has only been 835 days its not possible

I am a high level. 979. But if i see a 8000 i report him for exploits. Come on you asked for it. Its the same as walking arround with a hit me sign on your forehead.

While you can probably guarantee all level 8000's are cheaters/modders, when do you stop just banning every level 8000? At some point it's going to happen legitimately. Rockstar could, but there are much more effective ways of handling them, I just don't think they care too much tbh unless it's something drastic like the insurance mod where they had to disable it completely.

 

The problem is the transferring of characters. Rockstar are too lenient and let it slide if you went from old consoles to new, it seems as though they can't detect it, so they just don't care. However if they do it on PC, RP changing/stat editing is an instant redflag and you get banned within a few hours to a few days.

 

 

But what does having a high level give you apart from a big number? It doesn't actually make the game easier does it?

I know it doesn't bother me when I see a 1000+ that I know is modded. It's just an E-dick, they don't have anything better than me, they don't get any advantage.

Modded combatroll with transparant outfit is an advantage.

Infinite combat roll on next gen is a myth it's been patched. The clothing glitches get patched quickly also so really don't have a dog in the fight on this topic.

I'm pretty sure the modded roll was patched around the low1 update. I haven't been on my modded account in some time so i don't know if the modded run atill exists. The faster run is quite noticable and gives an incredible advantage in 1v1 spawning scrimmages.

If I've got a moment in session, I'll report them along with the people at level 400+ who haven't maxed their stamina/driving skills yet (which are normally maxed at a small fraction of that level). If I had to go to more effort I wouldn't bother; if they have a menu installed then they can clear them anyways. I think of it as a penalty for being stupid enough to make their cheating completely and totally obvious. I'd only take the time to record and put a detailed report for someone who was truly cheating in a real fashion, but since there's no place that really takes that kind of report there's not much to be done.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here or not, and I am absolutely not reading this whole thread with my spotty connection, but back in the day Rockstar actually did ban people who jumped to 8000. The cap used to be lower back in the PS3 days, but I'm f*cked to remember what it was. People were jumping to that, but were banned, and Rockstar eventually raised the cap further as players started nearing the original one, banning people jumping directly to 8000 as well. I had three friends who did precisely that and wound up losing their progress. Only one of them was allowed to keep playing, but was reset to level 50 or so.

yep R* normally ban accounts, so if they get banned they just do another accounts, but since modded rolls, double damage, infinite snacks got patched on next gen, I don't have a problem with them, and normally those level 8000 are really trash on freemode

My "not so legit" account was transferred from P3 to P4 at level 120 with a 10 figure bank balance.

 

Made sure the account had abit of playtime on it by leaving the controller rubber banded in a P3 server for a few days, then added all the bits I wanted and transfered. Got through without any issue at all. Only really use it now though to buy all the DLC to test before buying what I actually like on my legit account.

People with modded accounts like 8000 should get ban,they are using mods to get that that rank and other stuff.They are not different from modders(cheaters).Cheating is cheating.I see a lot people with modded accounts and they have rank about 100.Is it really hard to play this fu*king game without cheating?

I'm just asking because I remember that on mine, you could only get that outfit and take a picture of it while doing a job (and I can't seem to save pictures to my gallery during jobs) or by using a glitch, saving the outfit and taking it to free mode.

 

And the reason I'm saying that is because I'm wondering if you used a glitch to get that while taking a hard stance against cheating. Just wondering.

 

As for me, I don't care what you do with your game, as long as it affects only yourself. It doesn't matter much if a couple of people cheat their way to a higher rank as it doesn't make them any smarter and they would've gotten to that rank eventually if they enjoy and play the game enough.

It doesn't earn them any respect. In fact, most high rank players I see (in contact missions, anyway) are just as stupid as most newbies. But coupled with arrogance and the incessant need to annoy others, they fail missions constantly or get themselves killed.

 

Again, whatever doesn't affect others is fine by me. If you start using any kind of mod, glitch or exploit to gain an advantage over other players, you should not be allowed to play.

I have everything (2 times over) and don't have a modded account. What material things others have and the money they have have no effect on you....you might want to look up arrogant and rethink how you use it because it is you who is arrogant.
