Why not more advanced options for On Call?

I'm a guy that does my Daily Objectives, on both characters matter as fact. That 1 million every 28 days (500k per character) plus the 200k per week (100k per character) is honestly where most of my bank comes from now.

My question, why is the On Call so limited?

Say I get a Objective for a non-contact race. Open up the phone, go to races, and that's it. Your only option is any random race. Why can't On Call have these search options?

Races

- Any race.

- Contact Race.

- Non-Contact Race.

- GTA Race.

- Rally Race.

- Sea Race.

- Air Race.

Same for captures and deathmatches, why not have;

Deathmatch

- Any Deathmatch.

- Normal Deathmatch.

- Team Deathmatch.

- Vehicle Deathmatch.

Captures

- Any Capture.

- Raid Capture.

- Hold Capture.

- Content Capture.

- Whatever the last one is.

And why the hell is it when I use On Call to find a Versus Mission for Objectives, that half the time I get thrown into Adversary Modes? A fix to that would be appreciated.

Anyway yea, for all the options On Call has, it's actually quite limited. Why won't R* flesh it out more and let us look for certain modes we need instead of only giving us the option for any random event?

Your ideas for fixes sound solid, but I think you're forgetting which company updates this game. Fixing something like On Call would require lots of effort and dedication, and the only times Rockstar has shown those two was when they fixed the online in its first week and when heists finally came out.

Before adding a filtering system to On Call, why not fix On Call? Every time I do On Call it either fails to find anything and after 4 minutes I try again, it still puts me in that damn Sandy Shores 32 player deathmatch (or whatever it is) or I join a mission with a guy who's AFK and I have to quit out and do the whole thing all over again.

I'd love to start a timer one day and see from LAUNCHING the game how long it takes to not only get in a public freeroam session with, say, 10 players or more but in a mission that has all players move and not do the "not moving" troll thing. I'm guessing 6 minutes and 10 seconds exactly from the launch of the game to the point I'm in a mission to make some money.

On Call is a completely broken thing.I only see how many players are joining, not important details such as Standard-Non Contact-GTA race or Vehicle Class.I see "Ring of Fire" for example, when I get there it is Off-Road vehicles and I quit. This is annoying as f*ck.I won't even talk about On Call Host bullsh*t.You have to wait until lobby gets full...

The only time I have had any success with on call in general is when I want to join a friend and am too lazy to manually connect. Its really a wonky feature that's never been smoothed out.

Arrows to Athens

Job filters is something we most certainly need in this game. Also, we should have the option to instantly go into the sky, and get into a job lobby like before. I honestly don't know why they got rid of that.

sound like a good idea but they first need to actually fix the on call feature...

i mean yesterday i choose to join a lts from the quick job menu on the phone, it puts me on call to join a lobby with 14 other players, since im on call i simply put the controller down and when to the kitchen, like 2 mins laters, im still on call and start receiving messages, people telling me to launch the match...

the stupid system put me as on call host, which is a stupid and ridiculous feature.

I agree I hate the On Call host thing. Give a guy with no control, control over the match. Sounds like a solid idea. lol

Whoever is host should get booted into the menu screen.

...because R* prefers to poop vomit spew regurgitate out new (read: worship them or else) Adversary Modes instead of fixing game play issues that actually matter, and have been a pain in the proverbial gluteus maximus for a long time now.

Just another sad example of numerous such issues infesting GTA Online.

On Call sucks. Bring back direct lobby selection before On Call was introduced. At least you could see the settings to decide if you want to hang around or not.

Or give us a filter for On Call so it knows what to search for. If we can block Created Content, surely the next step would be a filter system.

I no longer use on-call on the phone; I exclusively use quick job from the pause menu. Fortunately the 1.33 update doesn't seem to have broken that on pc (read differently for one or both consoles). The advantage of being seamlessly in free roam until the job starts just isn't that much of a gain, and you lose all that information about the lobby settings that I find useful (race or death match type, owned vs forced weapons, camera lock, etc.) Especially knowing when the lobby has an on call host, because then I can just drop out and try to find another lobby rather than waiting for something that never starts.

Filters would be nice but secondary in my world to general improvements in matchmaking.

For the OP: versus and adversary mode are one and the same for objectives, and they have the same icon on the map. The only real differences are where they are found in the pause menu, and that Martin spams you with adversary invites. So don't worry that it gives you one or the other.

OP, have you considered hosting jobs instead of relying on on-call? Then you would have full control. I agree w/ most posts in this thread, on-call mostly sucks and needs a lot of improvement.

On Call is still very flawed, I hope the devs start improving the game more, because adding cars will not improve anything.

I used to but if you don't have friends online it can be a chore inviting. Auto invite, open session, wait 10 minutes, 1 guy joins, quits soon as you tries to start the match.

I still occasionally try hosting, but because of pricks like that I got hosting reserved for a plan B if On Call fails me.

Wasn't aware Adversary and Versus was the same, I have all their map icons turned off as it's not my preferred game mode, I play it only for DO's. So good to know they are the same.

Last night I actually sent a support ticket to rockstar complaining about this.

There are so many definite things you have to do for dailies and some of them are really hard to get. This option should absolutely be included.

And if we really do have the millions of players they claim, it shouldn't be hard to find matchups.

Agree with OP.

Yea either R* matchmaking system is crap, or this game doesn't have the 8 million + players weekly they said it does.

I personally think that the On Call feature needs to go. It was broken to begin with and it always takes you to the wrong sessions, often to matches with "$99,999,999 / 99,999,999 RP" written on it. And yes, I know the OP mentioned about fixes, but due to R*'s inability to listen to fans, I have a feeling that they'll just do more harm than good as always. Its a never-ending cycle.

I use on call every single time I go online and the only problem I have had so far is getting put in a Slasher lobby when I chose a race and even that wasn't a really a problem because I just cancelled that and chose a race again and in 30 seconds I was on call for a race. The easy solution to the $99,999,999 / 99,999,999 RP deathmatches is to just choose R* created content before you try for a deathmatch. This past week I have spent 90% of my time in LTS and 80% of them I used on call most of the time I was in the match playing a LTS in 3 or 4 minutes.

I would love some more options for on call especially the specifics for the job listed under the number of players like for LTS if I am waiting on bumper cars I would like to know if the host chose owned or forced weapons so I can quit if it's owned weapons and try for a proper bumper cars. I would also like to see the car class for races and also if it's on GTA or non contact or what it is.

first they should fix that on call option.they describe the option as waiting for a job or a full lobby while you can still do your own thing in free roam instead of waiting in the lobby itself, but if i actually want to do something in free roam while on call i can't even exit my garage or buy clothes because if you do that,it kicks you out the on call option. so asking rockstar to fix that is like asking them to make gta online flawless.

The official R* response to that sadly was to hide the name of the on-call lobby if a free mode event is active (that you haven't hidden), because interfaces are hard.

Yeah there's very little you can really do in free roam while waiting, which is one of the reasons I don't use it anymore. You can randomly shoot people, then vanish when the job starts, which I suppose offers some degree of amusement.

Ok, it's not the official response, but have you tried it? The event scores hide everything but how many people are in the lobby you are joining, which makes it even less useful for those who are even the tiniest bit picky about what job they might be playing.

you are 100% right about that, such a frustrating thing rockstar did with that.what's the point of going on call then when that happens? rockstar please use some logic for once. again proof that they pick quantity over quality these days. a real shame

I think half the problem is that the dailies are too specific, there are too many game modes to be assured anybody is trying to start a game of a specific type.

Even if there are 40k people playing on your platform at the moment, 20k of them are freeroam warriors, 10k are trying to heist, 8k are doing their own thing and if you're lucky another 2k are spread throughout the 5k various jobs, none of which are the specific capture type you need.

Solution? Host. Open matchmaking, auto invite. I have much better luck hosting if I'm in a public session.
