What targets are appropriate for jets?

If you fire a homing rocket at me, I'll just think you want to play some more.

 

If you go into passive mode in attempt to get your own jet, I'll make sure you never get into it whether you're off the radar or not. I know where you are at all times. You'll be on my hit-list for the duration of the session or until one of us leaves for whatever reason (it's going to be you rage-quiting).

 

If you don't like getting griefed, go into passive mode, go "ghost" (it's not that useful from what I've encountered), go into your apartment, join a job, or just leave the session entirely. In any case, it's going to be a lost cause trying to retaliate.

 

I grief in jets with a partner and we sweep lobbies clean.

NOPE! I faced off against you and your boy, you got 2 kills on me, then I used off radar, then ghost organisation along with bribe the cops. All to get a Lazer, I then ripped apart you and friends Hydra right out of the sky. Directly after, you and your friend left the session, never to be seen again. Just like a typical jet clown, the second the tables were turned, you couldn't run away fast enough.

I wont shoot unless shot at. Some folk here have a pretty f*cked up attitude towards other people and playing. I play to have fun. I play online to have fun with other people, from all over the world. It's just hard for me to understand why somebody wants to be an asshole on international level. There are plenty enough possibilities for fighting in this game, even if you dont go after every blip.

Then again, being good at something is a great feeling. I kind of can get that. But if other guy isn't fighting, isn't it kind of lame. To the extreme.

The problem you have is that you see someone doing something that you don't do as meaning that they're "an asshole on international level". They're not. They are simply different people who enjoy different things, in this specific case being that they enjoy killing people in a computer game, whereas you don't. That's all. It's like calling someone scum because they prefer dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate.

 

People should really stop being so judgemental about what other players do in this game. If you're that offended by people attacking you then you need to go out of your way to find a crew that agrees not to do that and then join crew sessions. It's your problem that people enjoy killing strangers online, not the people doing it.

 

Also, just because someone's actions upset you or offend you, it does not make them wrong. People are not special snowflakes, or precious little cupcakes, and they need to stop acting like they are.

 

Incidentally, I apologise if this comes across as me berating you personally, as that is not my intention. This is about everyone that gets easily offended by people who are simply playing a game.

I usually get my jet if I'm badly outnumbered by enemy players, or/and there's an enemy jet about.

 

I usually won't even be in a jet unless one of these things happens. Once I'm in though:

 

Bounties are absolutely fair game.

 

Armed aircraft are fair game.

 

Groups of players picking on other people are fair game.

 

Anyone obnoxious on a mic or sending obnoxious messages, is fair game.

 

Players who attempt to harm you in any way are fair game.

 

Anything else ... Well it's still ok to do, because it is free mode, but it's a slightly d**k move. I'm less strict on myself when I'm in a helicopter, since those are easy enough to bring down.

At any given moment a random jet icon will appear in the (public) lobby. What can you do?

 

-Get your own or an equivalent rival

-Shoot em down from the ground

-Carry on as normal

-Go passive

-Leave the Session

-Play a Different Game Mode

-Use Ghost Mode, etc.

 

You either get mad or you keep it moving.

 

If I'm in a jet and I get shot down. No problem! It comes with the territory. "Get out the jet!". I'm out the jet. I'm on the ground. Now what? I don't need another jet. And if I still dominate you, then there's really no excuse. If I don't, it's no big deal, good game. Normal, everyday PvP.

 

If it wasn't the Hydra, it's the Lazer - which has been in the game since day one. If it's not that it's the Buzzard or the Savage, Valkrie, the Homing Launcher or the Insurgent, Heavy Snipers and RPGs, whatever. It could be random gunfire or someone rolling up on you.

 

There's so many different ways to die in this game. Sometimes it's because you have a bounty, sometimes you're the VIP, or maybe they don't like your car. Maybe it's for a daily objective or maybe it's just for the hell of it. It could've been a proximity, a sticky from a lowrider or someone in an Armored Kuruma. Who knows why or how someone's gonna kill you. I don't understand why people get so upset over dying in GTA, especially from jets specifically.

Reporting someone just because they use something you don't like is ... I don't know ... Just ... You know ...

 

I don't report everyone who manages to get the odd homing launcher shot on my helicopter. It's cheap as f**k, game - ruining and annoying, but at the end of the day, they haven't cheated. It's in the game, and it was put in to be used.

Those are good points, and whole heartedly can understand them. As there is a possibility in game, people will use it - it is their possibility, right and everything. I just hope that there would be some sort of consensus with "invasive" gaming. To be honest, jets have never been a problem to me, and often i am in invite lobbies. In public ones, there has been almost no griefing.

Why would it matter in a game what targets are targeted? Its just a game and if you don't like being countinously being bombarded by jet fire, just change sessions. Or as I do, fight back. Probably lose but the challenge is fun to me. Recently, just go ghost after the third kill if its that aggravating. Haters gon hate but me I just laugh at the jet griefer cause he thinks its aggravating me. True story. Lol!

I'm a jet griever, who also fights on foot. I respect people like you who fight back instead of whine about it. Players like you are usually the ones who are truely good on foot, who can usually get me out of my jet a couple times. More fun and more of a challenge to me in my jet. Respect to players like you over the sh*t talkers who can't deal with it or do anything about it.

I know this thread is is about jets attacking stuff, but for me its the other way around.

I attack any armed jets that is flying within sniper range, whether said jets are actually attacking people or not at all.

 

As i said couple times in other PVP related threads, its just preemptive killing. I Eliminate a potential threat before it even becomes one. Its fun to see them realise it was me shooting, when the jet is already badly damaged.

 

Also rarely use my Hydra for anything else than quick transportation from PB to LS, Criminal damage ( for the extra 750k boost in the last seconds ) or Bounties. Im not a bloodthirsty topgun wannabe.
