I really don't think this feature is needed, plus I can see it been abused...

How the hell do you abuse morphing a model?

It's called "i see many people support it, so i make myself special by being against it for no reason."

i-amp-039-m-special_o_1885601.jpg

but all jokes aside i think what he mean't by abuse is probably the fact of people consecutively using the Surgery feature too much rather than playing the game. However i have no idea why he said this feature isn't needed which doesn't make since in my opinion since its been request by the community alot.

Just make it expensive, really.

And even if some cheater makes my face look like an spawn of avocado angrysexing an older avocado, i'd call it abuse, shrug and make another face, something that rather resembles the testicle making tender love to a topographical map of Utah.

200k and an in game week cool down time.

This is something I'd actually like, to be able to change parts of my character should i feel like it, and lets be real. Plastic surgery isn't cheap irl so why should it be in game?

Just make it cost $50,000 and give it a long, real-life cooldown of a week, perhaps even more. Being able to change and edit your character would be a great addition, but it shouldn't be something you can willily-dillily do whenever you want because then people would be making Meme Characters and completely break the immersion. The only real reason people actually try to make a decent-looking character is because you're stuck with it and only get one shot.

So this is one of the few things I feel like would need a big cooldown, so it still feels like a vital process.

I agree with you and I also would add a cooldown but i'm sorry i have to say it: immertion is already broken, it's always been but things just got worse and worse. Too many pogo masks since the beginning, then we had the raccoons, then red eyes as we arrived on CG (they can look good with the right hair and outfit but everyone mash them with high-life outfits and hipster hair - that's horrible) and speaking more generically there's a lot of awful unrealistic characters out there. I don't even mention the huge wave of invisible body parts and chess jackets.

Sound about right to me

Step 1: Plastic Surgery is initiated within a Main Menu Tab offline to avoid online player interaction disturbance.

Step 2: $200,000 cost to start surgery and after completion you will be given a temporary week cooldown.

If R* does it right, it can bring them alot of money from shark cards.

It just won't be any time soon IMO

There's no need for a cooldown. Actual mmos with real pvp let you change your whole look as much as you want. In GTA as I said in another post, what I remember is peoples clothes and names, not their face. People can change their outfits instantly. There's no reason to gate fun on a plastic surgeon feature at all. It doesn't even make sense to do that. It's not like when the dude in the ugly baggy rapper clothes named lololol1234 kills me I specifically remember his face over his name and colors on his clothing.

I've been hoping something like this would come for a long time. It's really something people want, and would cut down on the request for character resets.

I had my character's face break under my mask twice, and at one point, it changed my skin colour, and I had to wait for Rockstar to turn me down a few times before eventually being allowed to fix myself. A cooldown isn't necessary if it costs a nice amount, and it'll allow people to tweak the little things about their faces a few times, which would be great because the faces look different between the creator and gameplay.

As for those of you complaining about the lack of realism and immersion, I'm certain the guy with a f*cked up face driving the chrome T20 with underglow to go get his Hydra doesn't give a sh*t about immersion, and neither do the swaths of people like him, actively breaking it by simply existing.

If only we could actually add body figures like boobs, hips and others instead of the same malnourished body GTA Online characters have

You guys maybe right about R* not using cooldown now that i think about it since this would be a good shark card opportunity for them as they would probably want people to constantly pay $200,000 to edit their characters. if R* sees this thread we might just see Plastic Surgery on the horizon because all though its a typical request it is also a plan and method that favors their Shark Card micro methods.

This is something we really need in GTAO, it might help giving players the ability to make their dream character.

it could be a cool feature, something that many players want, plus a good chance for R* to charge a lot in a push for the cashcard, i wont use it myself as im really happy with my character, but sonething like this can only help the game.

they can put a really high pricetag on this, i mean they want us to pay 100k for custom plate for a car, the average bennification of car is a million, so i can see them charging 4-500k for this, maybe with a cooldown of day or two.

I really don't think this feature is needed, plus I can see it been abused...

can you please explain how people customizing their characters would affect your gaming experience? Edited by CarimboHanky

I don't see why they don't just add a "Press Square to edit character" button to the character select screen. It's not something that would affect any aspect of the game at all. But concidering R* hasn't given us that by now, it's not likely gonna happen.

If it doesn't make them money, they wont implement it. Why don't you think the Content Creator has had much of an update,.if anything it's worse now than it has been in a while... No profit.

I'd pay $1mil to edit my character once in a while. I'm the kind of person that gets bored of how things look every now and then, and i have crew themed nights which may fit a character overhaul.

I don't see how it could be abused anyway. It's not like being able to change your name. You don't recognise people by the way they look. So how could it be abused?

Link to comment

The only way it could be abused how i see it, is by Rockstar - you don't pay for a complete surgery, but rather for each facial feature, much like at the barber. If you don't have a plan how your character should look, you will end up paying for changing eyebrows, then realising it doesn't aesthetically fit with the nose and in the end correcting the chin, just to buy a Sharkcard for financing new cheekbones.

After surgery we get a unique bandage mask we have to wear for 12 in-game hours that one we can't unequip.

If we take damage, the bandage mask switch to a Bloody Bandage Mask and the facial features underneath get randomized in ugly way.

I've always wanted my character to look like this.

Sloth-Goonies-Hey-You-Guys-07.jpg

I'll definitely be taking damage if this is added.

LMAO. Thats a PRECIOUS idea yes

I can't help but think how something like this wouldn't even really be needed if they just gave us full camera control when we were creating our characters in the first place. I think 9 times out of 10 people find something about a facial feature that they don't like, or didn't mean to implement because they could barley see what they were doing in the character creator to begin with. Even if we were to get a plastic surgery option I'm sure we would be refined to that same limited motion camera interface that causes all the trouble in the first place.

Why would you want to wear a bondage mask?

TDU2 has such a feature where you can at least change things related to the appearance of the face/head and you'll indeed run around with a bandaged head for a certain time ingame. Nothing I really need as I've never felt the need to even change the hair style for my online char so far but I'm not against it. Could be fun to watch the results and make R* a few more bucks.

My character looks perfect and actually looks unique, but my only problem is that his nose looks a bit button-y and just needs to be bigger by a veeeery little bit. I'd be happy to waste 100k on that.

Most customization games should allow a 360 rotation camera of your character during creation.

I guess this is is true if you spend most of your gtao time in freeroam, even if probably you will remember the colour of his kuruma/insurgent even more than his clothes :D but if you do activities you actually see their faces in the teams lobby and in cut-scenes when you do heists. Not a big issue, i have to admit it, but still i find myself shaking my head looking at certain characters. Anyway, this would not be a reason to add a cooldown... I just wouldn't like to see my friends changing face every hour (i wouldn't notice it on randoms) but this also would not be a -good- reason for adding a cooldown. Now that i think about it there's no good reason at all and actually it could be annoying if you make some mistake and want to fix it. I still think a high price should be asked to do plastic surgery though.

this could also allow R* to add more facial options whether its more parents like CJ,Victor Vance and other classic gta characters. they could even add the option of scars on the face to look more combat seasoned.

I like the idea of surgery clinics opening up. You can go to a legit clinic and get plastic done, but pay a lot of money, or go to some dudes basement and pay half as much for a chance to come out all f*cked up.
