I feel kinda angry my quota of likes has exceeded, I want to like everything Voodoo posts in this thread.

I don't see why complimenting a woman in that way is bad? It's like wolf whistling.. It's not a big deal at all. Complimenting someone in a not so 'PC way' shouldn't be classed as harassment, being grabbed in the street and groped is bloody harassment.

I actually read a post (maybe like 4 years ago on Tumblr) that had a bullet point list of things men shouldn't do to keep women 'happy and safe'.

 

Two things that pissed me off.

1 - 'Do not get into an elevator if there is a woman on her own in there, wait for the next one'.

2 - 'If you see a woman walking on the street alone, cross over and walk on the opposite sidewalk'.

 

There were about 20 of these 'rules'. I have a hard time seeing their point of view when they think a man should do those kind of things. I even saw a post (again on f*cking Tumblr) where a guy told a girl 'you're really pretty' and she roasted the guy, made a huge post about how that was 'inappropriate of him and how he should apologise to her.

 

The world shouldn't be sugarcoated for those people who can't deal with everyday sh*t. It's pathetic.

Because every single person's head works differently.

To some saying 'oh wow you're sexy' is PC, to others anything that isn't 'I hope you don't mind if I acknowledge your superior genetics' is not PC enough.

 

Not only is there thousands of varying levels of compliments, there is a double standard forming.

Men should not have to be wary of speaking to a woman out of nothing but innocent attraction or friendliness. I don't like this 'women need to be treated as delicate flowers, don't upset them with your harsh man words'.

 

It's exhausting to keep up with these ever changing rules and all it's doing is causing more issues between sexes.

There is a large difference between a predatory man who purposely and knowingly makes women uncomfortable, and a man who thinks he is innocently flirting with a woman only to be told 'no you don't compliment her in THAT way, you pig'.

 

Might aswell go the whole hog and make it illegal for men to speak to women unless the women instigate it.

You guys shouldn't feel like you can't discuss things in here. It goes like this - post feel, reply and discuss if it's about the feel, move on to the next feel. Where it starts to derail is when we get into microwaving shoes or posting meme videos. Just use a little restraint and if you end up in a one to one conversation, take it to PM.

If nobody has already said, PC is an acronym for Politically Correct. It utilises the main principles of a Utopian Society and counters Racism, prejudice, sexism, with a mentality that everybody should not be offended and if they do, then they should be satisfied immediately.

 

They believe smaller communities should not be offended because they are just as important as the other communities.

 

So really, all PC means is just to not offend others, but it's way more radical and strong.

 

For example, a PC person may take a comment out of context and claim it is offensive to (x) people, while a considerably general person may state that in the context it is in, it is not offensive.

 

It's basically a "Feed The Lion So it doesn't feed on you" mentality.

 

Although I am mainly PC in my beliefs, I only approve of that nobody should be offended, yet I don't take things out of context often.

 

I'm feeling tired now, I just want to fall asleep.

Okay... so when referencing my opinion that your definition of a particular word is both inaccurate and biased, you decided to point me in the incredibly vague direction of "Google" hoping I would then google an entirely different word and apply the definition found there to the word initially in question? Such an obvious trail of breadcrumbs, how could I have gotten this so wrong??

 

And you are 100% free to have your own opinions, even on the internet, no mater how wrong they are. This is something I feel with a white hot intensity... that of a thousand burning suns.

Ignoring the obvious man - child, my feelings are fine. I'm still tired, but I'm just sitting down, drinking Coffee and enjoying the spare time I have.

 

My dog is kinda annoying me though, she follows me everywhere. She's way too loyal, but that loyalty can be way too annoying for her own good.

 

But she's fine. The other day, she threw up on the floor and I had to clean it up, so I don't have the best attitude to her right now.

Gotta agree with Alien there, it kinda sounded like you were pretty angry at your dog.

 

Also how come you decided to get a dog if you're allergic OR did you not realise you were allergic until you had one? Genuine question (I'm not trying to be a smartass), I know a lot of people don't realise their allergies until it's too late.

 

OT - I'm really ill, thought it was just my regular morning stomach aches, nope. Full blown incapacitating cramps and I have laid in a twisted position which alleviates the pain slightly but it's so much effort. I feel like if I move I'll throw up, fabulous.

Sad thing is it's not even 'woman' troubles. (Probably TMI but I have the implant and I no longer have monthly visits so there isn't a decent reason for me to have such bad cramps.. I'm just broken).

I have three. I clean up puke and sh*t and piss pretty often because despite being housebroken, they can still be dicks from time to time. In fact, that makes me realize they all need baths pretty soon. One time, my dogs got into the dirty diapers trash can. That was a pretty horrible day.
