God I hate money... or the lack thereof. Get a doorbell ring last night after dark, all the dogs freak out and the kid wakes up. Who's there? A process server, Capitol One is suing me for a credit card debt I obviously can't f*cking pay.

 

This morning my paycheck doesn't get deposited because somehow, 2 weeks ago I f*cked up the "self service" adding a new checking account, even though it all said it was fine and I got no communication stating otherwise.... of course I don't have extra money in there to pay for the outstanding bills I already have coming out today. Hello many overdraft and returned check fees.

I've helped my mom pay the bills since November, since my dad couldn't, and I can't tell you how easy I have it now, god damn. If I knew the amount of work that goes into this sh*t before I doubt I'd make it on my own, which is like my worst fear. I'm surprised my family can even pay every bill and have a bit over $50 left over.. that's how tight it is rn. Good luck, though.. stay strong ofc.

Oh...I'm with you guys. Money sucks. I'm a regular working adult, and my wife is a regular working adult. We don't even have any kids yet we pretty much live paycheck to paycheck. I don't know how any people with kids manage.

 

Alien - A couple of months ago I had a similar thing happen with my direct deposit. My bank changed something and it wasn't communicated to our payroll dept. A ton of us didn't get our direct deposits. No one cares...they all think everything will be fine and you can wait a week for 'your' money. Meanwhile everything that was scheduled to pay(or float) is getting f*cked up and returned because there is no money in the account.

 

Everything is just so much more expensive these days...not to mention all the added cost of sh*t that we blindly absorb now a days. [Almost]No one had cell phone bills up until a handful of years ago. Now we all have to shell out $100+ a month for cell phones. A bunch of years ago TV was free - now you must have cable TV and that is another 100+ a month. We now have to pay for internet access...a few years ago there wasn't even an internet.

 

In 1973 my folks paid $20,000 for a brand new house on an acre of land in a nice neighborhood - My (very average) car that I recently bought cost more than that.

 

People graduate collage, grad school, med school, fill in the blank school, etc... and enter the world with a mountain of debt. I feel for them.

The funny thing is when i was 16/17 i used to drink and f*ck around with a few drugs here and there and i was so hyped to turn 18 so I could go on nights out and sh*t and since I've turned 18 I've been out like 5 times and haven't really enjoyed it as much as i expected

 

now at the ripe old age of 20 i'd take sitting in my chair with a decent beer, some weed, good tunes and sh*tposting over being stuck in a sweaty testosterone ego filled room playing terrible music and paying extortionate rates for drinks.

I'm pretty tired, hoping to go sleep soon.. I'm lying on my side and I just rolled over and my heart jumped and my chest now hurts because there was no wall where there should be.

It's not about staying the same weight. I'm mesomorph so unless I eat way too damn much I won't get fat, it's that I don't want to have an average build and a sedentary lifestyle.

I'll admit that I have a habit to constantly bully myself for the things that I'm not.
