CarnageRacing00
Note: I had a thread once before, a super long thread detailing my idea for a "sequel" to GTA Online, and well, it got thrown in the garbage when the mods decided to can the GTA Concepts forum... so I'll try to remember what I had written. ---------------------------------------------------------- If Rockstar decides to release a full on new version of GTA Online someday, I think they need to tweak the formula. GTA Online has established some staples that I'm sure will be carried over, but there are some fundamental problems with the structure of GTA Online which make it little more than a grind fest to raise enough $GTA to try out the new cars released every few months. Here's what I have in mind. 1. Respect is Everything Job givers will now be organized by Faction. Each Faction will have an equal number of job givers. Some are voiced, others only contact you via text or email. FACTIONS The job givers will be split into "factions". Each faction has a "Respect" value, which is raised by successfully completing jobs, killing players belonging to opposing factions, or performing faction-specific free roam challenges. JOBSThe jobs across the factions will be fundamentally similar, but not identical, in order to prevent players from feeling as if they're missing out on significant content by choosing one faction or the other. All factions might give you a job to kill someone, but one faction might require a stealthy approach, another might require a full on assault. All factions might give you a job to steal a car, but one faction might want you to hack the garage and sneak it out at night, silently killing the guards in the area, and another faction might want you to shoot your way in and blow up every other car in the lot. WHY JOIN ONE FACTION OVER THE OTHER?In order to keep faction enrollment numbers even, job payout will be based on enrollment numbers. Meaning, if Faction A has 10,000 players, and Faction B has 5,000, Faction B is going to pay more money for a job well done, enticing players to join that faction. It will be uneven at first but will eventually smooth out as players settle into their grooves. There will also be other benefits to choosing one and sticking with them, which I will touch on later. WHY CARE ABOUT "RESPECT"? Each faction will also have the typical perks, such as Remove Wanted Level, Blind Eye, Mugger, etc. These perks come from the big boss, and he will only offer them to you if your respect is above certain levels. For example, you may need 20% respect to earn the Mugger perk, 40% to earn the Blind Eye perk, 60% to earn the Remove Wanted Level perk, and 100% to earn.. something else. PLAYER VS PLAYER Your respect with your faction is slightly increased by killing players that belong to other factions. It is significantly DECREASED by killing players of your OWN faction. This will hopefully reduce (REDUCE, not eliminate) the amount of "kill on sight" going on in free roam, giving players reasons to go after certain players, and reasons to be friendly to others. So the blood thirsty will have the justification for their player killing rampages, but then you'll also have an entire group of people whom are off limits unless you want to damage your reputation and start losing perks. MOST FREE ROAM ACTIVITIES ARE NOW FACTION VS FACTION The usual free roam activities will still exist, but some will be converted into a battle between factions, and new ones will be created. The Faction that wins the challenge earns Global Faction Points... GLOBAL FACTION POINTS/RANKINGS Every offensive action you take against another Faction earns YOUR Faction "Global Faction Points", which improves your Faction's Global Ranking. Killing players from other Factions, defeating other Factions in certain jobs/activities, and possibly by other means as well. The Faction with the highest Global Ranking would earn some sort of bonus at the end of each month, be it a unique clothing item, $GTA reward, or whatever. This gives players motivation to choose a Faction and stick with it, helping to serve a higher purpose by actually working together with their fellow Faction mates for a monthly reward. This is essentially what Crews were supposed to be, but never managed to be because there are too many to keep track of. Deathmatches and other specific modes do not count toward Global Faction Points. SOME events, like races, can be set up as special "FACTION VS FACTION" events, but would likely need to be a recurring special event weekend as opposed to a daily thing. 2. Character Customization The chains that bind will be loosened in the next iteration of GTA Online, allowing more control over your in-game avatar. APPEARANCEPlayers will now have access to more ways to adjust the physical appearance of their characters, such as body shape, height, and more. In additional, Plastic Surgeons will be available to make changes at any time - at a cost. FIGHTING STYLE Training Gyms will make a comeback in GTA Online 2.0, allowing players to train their characters with certain types of fighting skills. These skills will have an impact on how your character moves through the game world, so you will want to choose a fighting school based on your intended play style. You can also retrain, but can only use one skill set at a time. -Martial Arts: Your character won't be doing back flips or round houses, but they will learn to kick and punch swiftly. Their combat rolls will be faster with quicker recovery, their jumping distance will be improved and they will be able to climb objects faster. -Boxer: Your character will have fast foot work and forceful strikes, but lack agility in other areas such as climbing and rolling. -Street: Unprofessional and dirty, but effective in the right circumstances. Makes best use of unconventional melee weapons. -Generic: Basic skill set, average across the board but doesn't lack significantly in any particular area. MOVEMENT STYLE While creating your character, you will have the ability to choose a general movement style for your character. This is similar to the walk style, but extends to the way your character holds their gun, to the way they taunt. -Professional -Thug -Feminine -Hyper -Swagger -Twitchy 3. Weapon Management/Load Outs The weapon wheel remains, but weapon storage is a whole new ball game. Instead of scrolling through weapons in each section of the weapon wheel, you will only have ONE weapon in each category. You may chose ANY weapon to go in ANY slot, and then SAVE this as a Load Out, similar to saving outfits. You can save up to 10 different load outs, which can be selected from the Interaction Menu at any time. This eliminates the frustration of scrolling through weapons to find the right one while in the middle of a fire fight. You can plan ahead and bring the load out best suited for a fire fight, or if you HAVE to use a different load out, it's no harder to choose the new load out than it is to scroll, but at least you won't have to do it nearly as often. 4. Vehicle Parts/Set Ups Now, when you buy a part for your car, it's yours forever. In addition, you can now save set ups for your cars, just like saving outfits. So, if you can never decide if you want your Dukes to look like a drag racer or an off-road rebel machine, now you can simply change the set up at a mod shop for a small labor fee. Simply install the parts you like, then before you leave the shop, choose "Save Set Up", give it a name, and next time you want to change the look of your car, you can just select the set up you saved and have it all done quickly. 5. Buy Using Shopping Cart All stores will now feature a "Shopping Cart" system, so you can mix and match clothing/car parts, finalizing your complete look before spending any money. When in a mod shop, for example, you will be able to change color, wheels, tires, bumpers, hoods, and more as many times as you desire without spending a dime - but the changes will be tallied up in the shopping cart, so when you finally find a look you like, you can cash out and apply the changes. 6. Passive Lobby For the players who want to arrange elaborate co-op stunts, film videos, arrange car meets, or just explore, a passive lobby will be added to the game. This lobby is not meant for players who simply want to hide from danger - although it will provide that benefit, it's specifically designed for players who want to perform tasks likely not possible in general free roam due to the unpredictable nature of random players, and need control over the game's AI and other options. In this lobby, $GTA and Experience Points are completely disabled. Your character is put into a form of stasis - no money can be lost or earned, the way you enter the lobby is the way you'll leave, no matter what happens. Players can vote to enable/disable cops, traffic, pedestrians, and change the time of day/weather. Players can individually toggle God Mode, Player Collision (to avoid getting run over and pinned by other players), indestructible/damage proof cars, and more in order to ensure they are able to capture the footage they're attempting. Players are also able to set custom respawn points, for themselves and their vehicles, so if they're attempting a particularly dangerous stunt, it won't take a half an hour to retrieve their vehicle and travel back to the starting destination. i have more ideas, but I need to go to bed. BachU8
Interesting concept. Sadly, R* will never do something like this. Mainly because, in an interview, someone said that GTA: Online will evolve from what it is right now. The basis isn't likely to change. PhillBellic
Regarding your Earlier Topic, you could post in the 'Where did my Topic Go?' Thread. Also, visit Your Content page. Now, the Ability to Turn On/Off Police sounds like a good idea. It would add to Role Playing that some in the Community may want to do.
Homemade Dynamite
That's good but I think a sequel to GTA Online should have updated radio stations. Do you have plans for that?
CarnageRacing00
That's good but I think a sequel to GTA Online should have updated radio stations. Do you have plans for that? That's a given. I'd like to see internet radio functionality added like in American Truck Simulator.

Now, the Ability to Turn On/Off Police sounds like a good idea. It would add to Role Playing that some in the Community may want to do. I've looked, and trust me, the majority of my concept threads are just gone, including the ones which featured ideas that ended up getting put into the game. I suggested a new Kuruma based on an Evo, we got it. Several of the new game modes are nearly identical to ideas I've had in the past. I'm not saying Rockstar is literally taking my ideas, just that I'm clearly thinking along the same lines as they are when it comes to DLC so I'm kinda bummed I can't go back and look to see what other ideas of mine ended up in the game, even if only by coincidence. CarnageRacing00
I don't know what to tell you other than I tried searching through my content and couldn't find this, not half of my other concept threads. RedDagger
possibly, if you can't find it by going find content>topics only, then that may be it. CarnageRacing00
Well I found topics dating back to when I joined, but not many of them. I don't know, this forum software bugs out sometimes. Well thanks for finding it for me!
evd
Interesting concept. Sadly, R* will never do something like this. Mainly because, in an interview, someone said that GTA: Online will evolve from what it is right now. The basis isn't likely to change. Gladly you are wrong. Rockstar isnt a being that sticks to the first ideas. The heists are here a good example. As for the thread - this idea is awesome. I've had similar one, based on respect level for each fiction / gang. Also I would like to see another big change: all missions take part in lobby. Like instances in WOW. The whole trick is where someone who are you supposed to robb or kill inform their recruits via SMS to help deal with the offenders. You never know when you are needed, Have to be always prepared for a job. Edited March 25, 2016 by evd Ivan1997GTA
Dee-account-with-1kbans
Good ideas.I like the idea of rating a player via respect. I hope the activities are more intertwined in the open world to cut down on those abysmally long load times. Make everything into the open world like what the freemode events were pushing for. Pedinhuh
This concept is basicly what should have been of the crews in this game, only much more focused, it loosely reminds me of All Points Bulletin. The idea of turning off cops is great and also should have been in this game since 2013. PhillBellic

The idea of turning off cops is great and also should have been in this game since 2013. Hell, we should have gotten the whole GTA 4 lobby settings system. If I want to have a no traffic session just to be able to battle with cops uninterrupted by goddamn AI vehicles - I want to do it. If I want no cops, or rain only, or, I dunno, some sort of riots going around the city - I want to have it too. But no, we only can choose who can get in our session. Just dumb.
