Does steering a little in savage helps to dodge a homing missile?

As the title says if i steer a little will my savage helicopter be able to dodge the homing missile in such scenario. Sometimes it was able to dodge some homing missiles rapidly and sometimes it got hit so the question is how can one dodge an homing missile when piloting the savage?

Homing missile is a bitch, and helicopters have the worst in this case. Dodging must be very sharp and in multiple ways.

If you're facing in the direction of the missile just do a little left or right tilt with the thumbstick, it should pass you by. This won't work if you're at the very edge of the HLs' range. One of the biggest mistakes I see chopper pilots make is turning tail and trying to get away from ground players just because they got out of their car..Hold your ground; if you're at the right height and distance you can obliterate them on the ground and dodge their incoming missiles. You need to be quick though.
