New Lamar missions?

It would be just like Lamar to have not learned his lesson after all that he put us through.

I know some people hate him but I find him hilarious.

I don't believe so.

Don't blame the missions, blame the players.

And the developer. Not the guy(s) who made those missions, the design is very good. Simply removing the host option and the payout ruined them. Now you can at least start them from the pause menu and nobody plays them, but once you restart the campaign by accident they are removed from the menu again. This is pretty stuipid.

Lamar missions have been a great opportunity to add two mini-heists (2 player and 4 player), they even could have released the second part with Lowriders 2 now.

Why? What does some GTAForums members have against them?

And don't even start with "they are imbalanced" because they aren't, they are just assymmetrical(most of them).

Lol. Really had to laugh. There are a few good AMs. The real problem is a) all we've gotten since Heists (377 days) were the 8 very bad implemented Lamar missions and AMs - and b) the gamemode should not exist. It is Versus Missions 2.0 and because nobody plays Versus Missions they renamed it. Some should be under the race banner, others run as special deathmatch modes, Sumo is a LTS and the new ones are captures. Rest of them are VS. People would complain much less about AMs if they would still support the other existing gamemodes. Aside from missions this could be done very easily by either verifying again (after a year) and make the verified jobs available on the first voting screen (since the second one is 8/10 bugged) or by making the created and/or bookmarked jobs accessible on the voting screen.

The game consists of 95% not Adversary Modes. R* acts like this is the only gamemode in GTAO. For a year now. It's not only lazy, it's targeting an immature noobish playerbase, most are just made for screaming kids on Twitch. The regular mature players either want balanced PvP or something that fits to the origins of GTA (i.e. missions or races).

The Lamar missions are really good, the only problem is that they are long and have bad payouts. I really want to see more of those missions someday.

Long is fine for me but it needs a better payouts. This is one of the parts of GTA Online besides heists that actually has a story plus the missions remind of GTA San Andreas with the gangsta sh*t.

We had this discussion long ago about the Lamar missions. In short, payouts were one thing. It was the odd hybrid of the heist and mission that soured many. The matchmaking sucked for these missions. At the time you were hard pressed to launch them yourself instead you had to rely on the mission halo. Then you got tossed in with randoms. Getting host maybe took 5-10-15 tries. Bad.

As for solo, you can't do that in those missions. Requires a team. Bad.

Concluding storyline sucked. Lamar left you for the "stove." You know "little dick" is going to get his ass hammered. Too many people want to chop him down, plus he's a twit. Leaving it open ended with no decent conclusion sucked. If R* wanted the heist thing, conclude it a little nicer with "ld" getting hammered then leaving the door open for him to weasel back in would've been great. The normal heists had satisfactory conclusions. This just left you hanging. Bad.

It felt rushed, incomplete and lacking of engagement. You wanted to slap "ld" and gave no reasonable desire to replay. Not for the money, not for the story and certainly not for the matchmaking.

Lamar Missions: C-

I play through them just for the cinematic portions for a good laugh. My favorite has to be Point and Shoot where Lamar is just talking at Gerald and Gerald wont even listen too him.

I don't like Lamar missions. It plays like a heist, but pays like how alamar would pay for a contact mission. Not worth the hassle of the heist-ish bit.

Hopefully, more contact missions instead. I don't like Adversary modes.

I'm sure with the online play data R* keeps to measure popular game modes, the Lamar missions replay by users is likely terribly low. Way lower than regular missions or heists.

Maybe even lower than Adversary Modes.

A good concept (Lamar Heist) totally blown by crappy execution.

If the flaws of the lobby system such as not being able to host the mission all the time and the low payouts then it would have been better but still there are people who wants to play with friends but still wanted more of those missions but do not inherit the flaws of older ones

Red Lynx 23

What I just thought of now, is more Lowrider missions. Just with Gerald and the Vernon guy Lamar mentions but is never seen running them. Maybe Lamar being involved somehow.

at the end of "peace offerings" when he goes back inside benny's garage he says something about this not being over or something like that. there might be more missions in the future, who knows?

Best posts by a mile by @zoso80. He explains it very well.

We do not need more Lamar missions in their current format. The flaw of going from 2 players, to 4 players, then back to 2 players was atrocious, followed by the die and fail policy, ruining what were mostly really fun missions. We put up with this 'die and fail' ordeal in conventional heists because we know there's a final payout, plus all sorts of mastermind cash bonuses, vehicles to unlock, etc... The Lamar missions have no finale, conclusion, payout, reward. They serve as nothing more than poorly executed accompaniments to the first Lowriders DLC.

Those missions are great to expose human race's major flaws as dumbness, ignorance, heroes, reckless, unability to learn from previous mistakes, brainless behaving..

The next time they release those missions then they should start at 2 players then later on 4 instead of being inconsistent with the 2 player 4 player missions also what about make us use the heist board instead just like Trevor did with Series A although 8 missions would not fit the heist board or have Lamar put a mission on the board 1 at a time. I agree the missions need a payout especially peace offerings is hard as f*ck and they should continue the story with better payouts with a huge payout similar to a heist after finishing the last mission because of the risks involved. The die and fail policy like in heists is a pain in the ass with randoms sure but with friends its challenging and forces your team to watch each others backs but the problem is that it wasn't even an actual heist like Series A. If its not the gangsta sh*t then R* better release new heists as these kinds of missions are badly needed as more fun to play with cutscenes and a story which contact missions don't have although had a description but its ass f*cking last gen limitations crap.

god i hope not!

so youre against R* adding new missions?

lamar missions are nice, they have a story.

Lamar missions are fine, but Adversary Modes should be completely left out.

Why? What does some GTAForums members have against them?

And don't even start with "they are imbalanced" because they aren't, they are just assymmetrical(most of them). and that makes them even better for me.

Just to take an often quoted example, Rhino Hunt, I played a serious amount of Rhino Hunt during its Double Cash week, and its not only incredibly fun but also Balanced!

Three Hunters can easily handle one tank, and they don't even need to coordinate that much all they have to do is to go FULL ENGAGE all the time.

In addition you can throw sticky bombs rather far which allows them to almost serve as a Rocket Launcher.

giphy.gif

you either a R* employee or you host 99999$9999RP deathmatches!

That, or he's grown an obsession of Adversary Modes which pretty much no one joins or plays nowadays yet doesn't seem to realize this.

Those lamar missions were like a mini-heist. I think folks would have enjoyed them more if there wasnt a player # requirement on all of them then to top it off nobody was allowed to die or it would fail like a heist. I think those 2 things were the least enjoyable about them.

All the annoyances of a heist but very little of the pay.

Plus you can only listen to Lamar for so long. It's like Rockstar went "Let's take the characters from San Andreas, and leave them to soak in some Red Bull for a few hours."

I haven't even tried the original Lamar missions.

The game's been out three years hasn't it? That's too long for me to be able to round up a team of people. It was already a pain getting people together for heists anyway.

Normal missions though, those would definitely be welcome.

I prefer mew Heists and Contact Missions than to go through Lamar missions. Those ghetto outfits provides no protection from gunfire whatsoever.

Which outfits do provide protection from gunfire? Except heavy vest and that I think only applies to heists, correct me if I'm wrong.

Heavy vests provide a LOT of protection against gunfire. This was proven very effective in Heists, even at the cost of running speed.

Heist armor doesnt work outside heists including the Lamar missions. The number of players required is not a problem with friends to play with
