StangOne50
Hey I used to plug my ps3 directly into the modem all the time for a nat type 1. Now all of the sudden it is not working. I cant sign onto psn at all using this connection. I have no clue what is going on...anyone??
Red Hat
Any error number being shown? Whenever I couldn't sign into PSN, I change my router's DNS either to Google DNS or OpenDNS. If that doesn't work then I'd reset the modem and start configuring it again.
Spuds725
Still having problems??? Internet down maybe?? Did you try unplugging modem for 10 seconds and plugging back in? Is it a stand alone modem or a modem/router combo? Also-- is there multiple things plugged into the modem (ie like a router as well as the PSN)-- if so, your ISP may not allow you to grab more then 1 unique IP address and it has given one to your router instead of your PS3-- if so, try unplugging your router and see if the PS3 can then get an IP address from your ISP. At one time I had 2 routers and a PS3 plugged into my modem via an ethernet switch-- giving me 3 unique external IP addresses-- I did find at times (mainly high traffic times like in the evening), the 3rd one (PS3 that wasn't on all the time like the routers) would lose it's IP address and it was unable to grab a new one for a few hours. Anyway-- impossible for us to know what your problem is..... so I'm kind of shot gunning...
