Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

Today, I want some of yall advice. What do you guys do in a fist fight to win? What are some good techniques?

Please, try to stay on topic and don't say "pull a gun" or "spam B". I would really like legitimate answers and tips!

Thank you for viewing, I appreciate any and all replies!

When I fist fight I will try to hit at a distance while running to stun and inflict high damage at first, press x (or your jump button for whatever you may be on) to dodge when they hit and strike immediately afterwards, and strike when not being immediately hit.

Mash X/Square until you dodge, mash RT/R2 until you shove, repeat.

There's nothing to do really.

I believe I already said it somewhere here, the fighting system in Five is a game of rock paper scissors, I do not have the feeling to have any impact on what's going on the screen, I'm just sitting there masturbating my pad like a retard. The game is playing me, it feels clunky and unresponsive. No way to trump anyone with skill or timing, it's a matter of luck, not worth your time, just pull a gun and shoot the f*cker.

Button mashing works. Just be sure which 2 you are mashing. And make sure you have room to move around.

Go on you tube and search repeated punching I really struggling to get hang of it but once in a flow you punch repeatedly so other player cannot hit back , on X box something like press forward and alternate rt then a fast but keeping the correct buttons alternating makes your play keep lunging and punching without a gap , when done properly is unstoppable

Just eat snacks while fighting. They'll think you're a hacker until you run out of snacks.

I think it's the only useful thing someone said in this thread.

This video has some useful tactics around 5:00 in:

Wit, what do you mean it's not the same game? I can't tell any difference in the fist-fighting mechanics...

Just run away when I'm taking too many beatings. The fighting mechanics are underdeveloped, so you'll expect there to be zero tactics involved. Half the time I just pummel them while I get the upper hand, then flee like a coward when I'm given a bad hand.

Pulling a gun also works wonders, by the way.

1- Wait for the other guy to throw a punch

2- Hold square (on PS3/4)

3- When your character dodges his punch, throw a punch

4- Repeat

He shouldn't be able to hit you at all if you do it right.

There's only a few buttons for it, so not much to do but press the kick/punch buttons and try to time your dodge button press.

Who even does fist fighting in GTA Online now?

Pretty much this.

I spent hundreds of hours playing melee in Borderlands2. I wasn't unhappy with it, results were more or less predictable. Same for Dead Island, although I didn't play that nearly as much (and it's not as much of a shooter). But in GTAO? I'll happily melee hostile NPCs because it's funny, but in any game where I can be face on with a hostile NPC, hit the melee button and have my character suddenly turn 180 degrees and melee empty space for no apparent reason, I won't bother with melee against other players (other than the rifle butt thing it does when you get super close with a gun) and I don't generally enjoy AMs where melee is a significant factor in the combat.
