I really love that car, but i will let it go today. Spent so much money on it and was excited to get that car. But the wrong scale / size really bothers me. It is ridiculous compared to the other muscle and 70s cars. That car mesh is 1/3 to small in relation to usual other cars. Looks like a toy car in relation to the Sabre, Virgo or Manana. Maybe rockstar could fix it and blow it up a bit, but at the moment it is a joke in mesh design and scale.

Sorry for my honest words, i don't like to bitch/moan about, but it is true. The car design scale is 1/3 to small, word.

I like it to drive but yeah Id feel embarrassed about taking it out in a public lobby or a mission. Ill keep it untill the other 3 cars unlock. Im going to be busy writing letters if rusty tornados dont go into Bennys.

I bet they have made it smaller so that it appears lower still. It does seem very, very low. And on the other hand, weren't there these smaller, similarily styled coupes at that time, too? Yes, i do think it looks too small too, it really does look scaled down - not one thirds, but a bit. It makes all the details look toyish and sharper than usual. But it looks absolutely gorgeous, i am on the fence with it. Will wait for other three before i make up my mind.

Damn this thread...now I can't shake the whole "small car" look with an otherwise gorgeous vehicle.

I think the overall size is based on the Lincoln Mark V which is one of the more down-sized Lincoln's compared to previous editions of the Mark series.

What? I'm actually noticing the smallish overall frame of the car. No one else has judged or critiqued my car, and I already mentioned how gorgeous the car is even with the slight aesthetic discrepancy.

I wouldn't like this car anyway, but yes it's too small. R* has real issues with size scale on cars. Ruiner and faction are also much smaller than the cars they're supposed to be, although that's only one of many failures with the Ruiner.

The scale is off, but I'm almost positive it was the same size in IV. I just played IV yesterday and have a Virgo saved in the parking spot... the Buccaneer (that I had parked right behind it) for example, is way bigger than it.

That's not to say they shouldn't have up-scaled it when they brought it over to GTAO, but really, at this point is anyone surprised that R* didn't take notice and put in that extra bit of effort? They actually managed to mess up the model's shading and put the wrong texture on the rear window shelf (on the stock version only) when it didn't have either of those problems in IV.

About the tail lights being changed, they're different but I wouldn't say they look bad.

Aside from a couple of minor things with the stock version, I still love it.

Better to have a car that's a bit too small, but well-proportioned (perfect actually, if you look at the real car) than one (Albany Virgo) that's big enough, but has f*cked up proportions. (way too narrow for the length and height of the car)

At least the Dundreary Virgo looks realistic... the Albany one looks way too cartoony to me. (which is a shame because I really liked the fact that it had '67-68 Chrysler elements in it)

I just did a comparison between IV and V using a Virgo and an Emperor and I can tell you (I'm not to sure about other iv vehicles but) that it's the same size in both games in terms of length and width. I was originally going to use a sabre turbo for the comparison but I couldn't find one in V. If you are interested in that comparison though in IV the virgo and sabre gt are roughly the same length with the virgo being longer by a hair. So if that trait is shared in V then it's safe to say that it is still the same size as it was in IV.

That just means R* screwed it up in the first place, then were too lazy and cheap to fix it. For a company making billions in profits, they sure are taking a lot of shortcuts. Sorry but I expect better.

i measured the virgo to the manana and it was the exact size. the manana is also a surprisingly small car for being a late 60's to 70's car. Really most of the old luxury cars in the game should be as long as the chino.

Or rather they did it on purpose to make it more different from it's real world counterpart. I mean the small size could be a commentary on how in the late 70s american cars were being downgraded due to the fuel crisis.

Even then it's not that small. In fact I did another comparison with a manana and they are both around the same size/scale with the manana being a little bit longer. Personally I think the reason why some see at is being "small" is a simple matter of depth perception in images. As for the car select screen in races it may be scaled smaller than it actually is in free roam. Anyway here's some comparison pics (in each pic I line up the cars from the back rather than the front so in some pics if it looks like one car is further front or back know that they were lined up before the pic was taken):

Virgo C. vs Manana length:

Virgo C. vs Sabre Turbo scale:

ea3fMG4_PUmLVfZTiU5b5w_0_0.jpg

And since this all seemed to began with that gif comparing the two virgos here's the Albany Virgo vs the Emperor scale and length:

Qe6-oOwkbUW2GUTnoS8jgw_0_0.jpg

O9vYarw96UuEqXlHCyXQUw_0_0.jpg

From what I can tell the Virgo's body lines are initially higher than the Emperor's however the roof height is about the same additionally the virgo is a little bit longer. Even then the Albany Virgo's problem of having the front and back be too narrow is still apparent. The point of those two images is to show that contrary to what the car select screen in races may lead you to believe the Albany Virgo is only a little bit longer with it's body lines being a bit higher but even then having roughly the same roof height of the Virgo Classic.

So yes maybe the Virgo Classic is scaled wrong in race select screens but not in the actual game, because remember as I pointed out the Virgo Classic is about the same length, width and height as the Emperor.

Ordinarily I would too... it's just that they've made such baffling and inconsistent decisions since 2013, that I pretty much expect nothing/disappointment at this point.

In fact, until we actually got photographic proof (which was only a few days ago?) I was pretty much convinced that this was just going to be a half-assed lowrider version of the Albany Virgo and not the GTA IV version. :p

This was my favorite car in IV and frankly, I'm amazed they didn't do a sh*ttier job of it than they did. Haha

Right so you're saying I should've put the big car in front of the smaller car so that way you wouldn't be able to see the difference in size and length thus defeating the purpose of making a "comparison image".

I'm pretty sure it doesn't get lowered at all when you upgrade it, since it's already so low. I bought one, wasn't happy with it even after customizing it at Benny's so I sold it, but IMO you should upgrade it if you're planning on keeping it. Changing the interior color and putting Benny's wheels on it alone make it a worthy upgrade. Also I did really like the mesh grille option for some reason. It does have very little customization (hence the cheap upgrade price, I guess) but if you're happy with the stock look, upgrading it will keep it pretty much the same, visually. Edited by Jusa93

Thanks Jusa - I want to keep the car looking as stock as possible because I do like it as it is - it's the interior customization that'll swing it for me (as usual) :)

Does the car still have the option for a two-tone paintjob after customization? That's probably a dealbreaker - I want to keep the two-tone bodywork above all else.

No you lose the two tone paint job in favour of having a colorable roof like the manana and peyote:

WMI6JVaxukStHD_aI6zdUQ_0_0.jpg

However some of the liveries incorporate the two tone paint job design to an extent. Frankly you're just getting all the bonus mods you get when you make into a lowrider.

It does, indeed keep the two-tone paintjob. The secondary color also affects the interior color on the custom interiors (non-stock) and it also receives a trim option - so you can keep the stock interior if you so choose AND change the color of it, without messing up the paintjob.

^ Oh my god, I didn't even realize it changes only the roof on the lowrider version. Silnev's right. Disregard this post, then.

Virgo Classic is to small. I drove one 2 days ago and stopped on the lights, to my left was 9F.

Yes, 9F was taller than late 70's sedan. R* just screwed up, no need to justify it by saying "oh, it's maybe this model, or that on which it was based on"

In IV it was bigger, this looks like a bad conversion some kid from Bulgaria would release on GTAInside.com. R* is getting lazy.

No you should have taken pictures from all angles, inc. nose to nose/tail to tail, side by side, and from directly above. Putting the smaller car in front makes it look bigger than it actually is. Twerkscopez's image is by far the best standard comparison image in this thread, although the race screen gif does a good job as well.
