Though I fully agree with others above, jump scares are an easy go-to for cheap thrills. Gore too. Much like shaky cam or found footage stuff, too often one or two will do it right and 30 others will come along and rip it all off, lol. From what I recall there weren't an overkill amount of jump scares or anything like that. When they did put those big scares in, it worked well. I feel like it's easier for me to get invested and not feel as though I have a huge task ahead of me. They both have their pros and cons, but I get excited whenever I see a smaller series on Netflix because I know it'll be MUCH easier to get in to and probably have a more satisfying conclusion.
