Tech-Noir
Console-wise it was probably Tekken 3 on PS1. I could be wrong though, my memory is hazy. Can't remember what arcade game I played first though, cause my brother and I would go to the arcade before we got our first console. I do know that I played Metal Slug X the most in arcades. jollythecat
Can't recall my very first game. But the first game I put a lot of time into was: Eye of the Beholder on Amiga 500. Awesome game. Also the first Might and Magic on Sega 16 bit, damn I played that game until the console was warm enough to fry an egg on. lol

ten-a-penny
Is it a bad thing that I don't remember *the* first videogame I have ever played? I think it was PlayStation Doom. That or PSX Quake II.
Real_Badgirl
It was a racing game for the N64, I think it was called San Francisco Rush. I didn't like it much. The first game I played and enjoyed was Super Mario 64, which I still have to this day.

Old Dinosaur
I HIGHLY doubt this was the first game i played but i remember it by name ect, so thats why im nominating it.. but like i said, i think the mickey mouse /ren and stimpy game's came first (amongst others) but i can't be sure.. so like i said.. sonic gets the nomination because i know it was one of the first... if not the first..... (all of those games i mentioned were great btw ), the highlight of the mickey mouse game was changing it from black and white to colour.. you changed it in the levels somehow (via completing tasks) .. i can't really remember.... all i know is it looked amazing as a kid Edited March 11, 2016 by Old Dinosaur

trip
All of them. I predate video games and was the perfect age when they started showing up in the pinball arcades. If I had to really guess I'd say Breakout(or Brickout - whatever). Space Invaders was the first one that really impressed me. Impressed me so much that I say I owe my life to it(career wise), plus it must mean something since I'm a hair away from 50 and still play a sh*t ton of video games...and hang out here at GTAF to boot. Vertighost
I would love to get more information on the game all I remember of is it's like one screen a Round Red dude/blob you type in an tell it to do stuff "Jump", "dance" "Blow up" etc. anyone know what the game is? I've been trying to find it for years. I think it was something like "Bob goes Pop"? I played it in early school days on a crappy computer that also had "where in the world is Carmen Sandiego" educational games I guess. My own game, well my families game was the Alex Kidd in Miracle World built into the Sega Master System II.

KilnerLUFC
My siblings had various consoles themselves, so the first ever game I played is slightly hazy for me, was probably Sonic or Mario, no doubt. In terms of the first game that I personally ever owned, it would have to be Goldeneye 007 for the N64. Was around 9/10, and my parents got me the Goldeneye edition of the N64 for Xmas, and all I remember is literally staying up all night playing through it. I was like one of those kids from those meme's: If it wasn't for the N64, I'd probably never have gotten in to gaming...
